xd You missed the Halloween event?
Summary:
Around the first few days of the month, Gambino purchased a lab and founded G Corp. It had a guild here and all the members were some NPC scientists. They were working on some medicine that made people stronger but they would act weird after a while. One of the scientists discovered what exactly it was and he was killed for it. A few days before Oct 30, some misterious scientist started selling an item called "Vial of mysterious liquid" at the Market for 100G. In Oct 30, Gambino made a Halloween party at his mansion and, in it, the murdered scientist came back as a zombie due to the "medicine" that G Corp was working on and attacked the other scientists. Soon, all the scientists were zombies and they started attacking random Gaians in Gambino's mansion. Getting bitten by a zombie would infect you and eventually turn you into a zombie. Zombie Gaians then could go around biting other people until the outbreak level was high and Gambino started giving out shotguns (not an actual item, though) to the remaining humans. Then the whole thing went crazy with humans and zombies attacking each other all over the mansion. The vials turned out to be antidotes, though (which is good because I got bitten
crying ). After that, Gambino's anti-outbreak security kicked in and nuked his own mansion. Thus, the party was over and most of the zombies returned to normal.
Also, if you had a costume (or a piece of one, at least), you could go to the shops for some trick or treating. During Gaia night, you could get one piece of candy every 20 minutes from one shop. After you had 3 pieces of candy, you could look for Jack somewhere in Gaia and talk to him. He'd then take your candy and give you an item depending on the combination (there were 6 different flavors and 8 different items). This lasted through the 30th and 31st (and a bit of Nov 1st moring).
I personally didn't like the zombie war. It caused an awful lag all over the site and it wasn't working like it should. I mostly got bitten while I was outside the mansion instead of only while I was in a topic I had posted on (like it was supposed to be). So you could get infected without even actually being involved in the fight. In fact, I logged out and went to sleep as a human and when I woke up the 31st and logged in, I was a zombie. So the bugs allowed you to get bitten even while you weren't even online. Fortunately, I had more than one vial... Trick or treating, on the other hand, was fun even if a bit time-consuming. I got all 8 of Jack's items, so my inventory really grew this Halloween thanks to the costumes and Jack. ^_^
