Ellen looked away for a moment, not sure how to answer this quite yet. She looked back at Rikkel. "Yeah, we have several. Salem's Witch Acadamy, Zelda's Emporioum, Washington Grove and Senoran Sanctuary are the ones I've been to." She bit the inside of her mouth. She didn't mention the one other she went to first, Gladica's Institute of Magic. That place had some very bad memories and that year counted for nothing in her schooling, they made sure of that. "I just got kicked around alot. I get into fights." She said the last part very mater-of-factilly that anyone could tell she didn't care to elaborate much on why.

Karen heard an impatient cough behind her. She turned and sighed with relief.
"Are you going to tell me the password or what?" The fat lady asked her.
"Well I would have earlier if you had been here," Karen said impatiently. She muttered the password and the portrait swung forward. "Coming, Lisha?"

Lisha nodded, and clambered a little clumbsily through the portrait hole. When they got into the Common room she looked around, "Is every one asleep?"

Rikkel looked at the small girl in surprise, "You've been to that many schools already? How old are you?" she asked this second question with narrowed eyes.

"15. I think they registered me as a fourth year." Ellen saw the look and rolled her eyes. This was something she was used to. "I stopped growing when I was 10, okay?"

A look of shock came to her face "You stopped growing?" Rikkel just shook her head at this.
"I didn't know Hogwarts took transfer students."

Ellen shifted uncomfortably. "I... got a special exception from the principal here." This went on without her saying that she was kicked out so often, it was almost normal for her, but being asked made her still a bit nervious.

"Headmaster. Not principal. We need to work on your english." Rikkel teased. She didn't press anymore about how many schools Ellen had been to. Right now she wanted to see if this girl would be an ally or an enemy.

"Headmaster, Principal, same thing! My english is fine. I haven't been taking it forever for nothin'." Ellen grumbled. So what if she wasn't british! She knew english backwards and forwards, she just didn't understand the british culture. Her faces was reddening with anger and her temper was rising. She hated being corrected, especially about something so stupid.
The teacher lady came back at last, a house elf at her heals. Elen jumped off her trunk and stared at the creature, completely ridged. She didn't know what this thing was and that scared her. What if it attacked her?

Rikkel saw the teacher and quickly stood up as well. When she saw the house elf she walked up to it and said "Hello Kiki." The elf curtised and mumbled a greeting.

Ellen stared wide eyed at both Rikkel and this 'kiki'.(Kiki's delivery service!!! whee ) The lady teacher started to talk to her. "Kiki, take this girl's trunk up to the hufflepuff tower, 4th year girl dorms." Kiki curtzied again and went strait to work. Ellen just stared. "What was that!?"

Rikkel grinned "That, was a house elf. They do the cooking and the cleaning around here. Isn't it great?"

Helena walked into the Great Hall and looked around. It was good to be back at school, but she already missed her parents greatly. She hoped with all of the nastiness going on in the world that her family would be safe. She looked over at the Slytherins' table and several people looked away quickly. She sighed. Why they had put her in Slytherin in the first place was beyond her. A couple of Gryffindors waved at her and she smiled and waved back. Her friends from the other two tables did the same, and she longed to go sit with them, but she had to sit with her House.
She took a deep breath and forced her head higher before taking a seat at the far end of the table, furthest away from the teachers' tables, trying not to look her housemates in the eyes.
