"There!" she said happily, admiring her work. "Well then, now that we look like we've been through some kind of epic battle, what do you say we get out of here and head back to town? I think I saw a clinic open there; I should probably get my leg checked out," she added, smiling meekly.
The approaching figure stepped on a pebble, which scraped against the ground, creating an echo.
Jill's head turned swiftly, and in a noticeably higher-pitched and panicked voice cried, "Ohmygoshwhatwasthat??"

He smiled and looked at her, chuckling a bit at her comment. "Yeah, we should be getting out of here..." he said as he looked at her. The sound of the pebble falling made his head turn sharply, and he saw the thing again. "You know how I said the evil chickens were real..." he said as he stood up, getting his hammer ready again. "And that's one of them."

"S-Say what??!" she gasped. Noticing his readied weapon, she dug through her rucksack and tried to find something of equal potency. Much to her dismay, the only tool she hadn't emptied into her tool box back at home was her watering can, and she pulled it out and stared at it. She whimpered.
The evil chick came into the light, and Jill stared at it for a moment, tilting her head. "You know....it's kind of cute....in an evil, demented chicken from hades kind of way." As it drew closer, Jill shut her eyes and let out a girlish shriek. "Go away, you psycho demon chick of doom!" she cried, chunking her watering can at it.
The watering can smacked the chicken in the head, and it fell over.
Jill stared in amazement. "...Did I kill it...?" she asked when it didn't move after 30 seconds had passed.
Shaking its head, the chicken stood up and charged them, angered.
Jill screamed, tears streaming down her face. "OHMYGOD, IT REALLY IS A DEMON; GET IT!!!"

Sean blinked as she pulled out the watering can. "I don..." he started, but as she started speaking, he stopped. As she threw it and hit it though, he thought it had worked, but when the chick got back up, he got ready once more. "Calm down," he said as he took a breath, watching the little demon-chick get closer, and swinging his hammer at it sideways like he had with the first one. He hit it and knocked it back, but it got back up and charged at them again, angrier than ever.
"I don't want to kill it... But if I don't it'll get back up and charge us..." he murmured, his voice faltering slightly, but his grip on the hammer tightening. He began to raise it over his head. "Even if it is evil though... I'm sorry." he said, and swung.

Jill shut her eyes tightly through the whole scuffle. She heard the final swing echo, and then she slowly opened her eyes and peered out. "...Did you get it?" she asked hesitantly.
She looked down at the demon chick. It was laying on the ground, its eyes swirling, but it was noticeably still breathing, somehow.
"....I can't believe that thing is still alive..." Jill said in awed disbelief. "But quick, before it gets up, let's get out of here." She held up a hand in a gesture of asking for assistance. "Can you help me up?"

Sean's hands were shaking as he picked the hammer up, looking at the unconcious chick. He breathed a sigh of relief that he didn't actually kill it, but he was ready to leave before it got back up. "Here, get on my back, I'll be able to climb still that way and carry you." he said as he turned his back to her and knelt to make it easier.

Jill's face flushed a bit. "O...Okay," she said nervously, and she scooted over to him. She wrapped her arms around his shoulders and positioned herself for him to carry her. "O-Okay, I'm ready," she said awkwardly, her face scarlet. She couldn't tell if she was embarrassed or flustered.
"Oh!" she gasped suddenly. "My watering can! Could you grab it for me? I don't want to have to come back down here and get it," she said leerily, eyeing the unconscious spawn of satan's hen on the ground.

Sean stood up with little difficulty, and nodded. "I would've forgotten about that..." he said, laughing a bit sheepishly. He crouched and picked up the watering can, handing it to her so she could put it in her rucksack before he stood back up. He walked over to the ladder and began to climb slowly. "Hold on tight," he warned, but he didn't stop climbing. At least if they got up a few floors, they wouldn't have to worry about the demon-chicks.

She took the watering can from him and examined it. "Aww man, it's dented...Stupid demon chicken," she muttered, sticking her tongue out at it as she put her watering can back in her rucksack. They started to climb, and she held on tightly to him, her face burning scarlet. "I...I'm not too heavy, am I?" she asked hesitantly.

Sean climbed at an easy pace, careful not to rush with Jill on his back. "Don't worry, you're not heavy at all," Sean said as he turned his head and looked at her as well as he could, smiling reassuringly.

anyways...
ic: Robin loved it. They walked hand in hand and it all felt right. But things kept racing through her mind. How long would it last? She hated the feeling. She wanted to enjoy what she had at this momment but she couldnt. She wished something would happen to make her believe more, and not make her so scared. But she loved him. She was sure of it, and she didnt want anything to ruin what they had right now.
"So" She turned around and looked around at him "Where do you want to go? Anywhere you want to go, we can." She kissed him to finish off her question, and held both his hands.

Loche held her hand firmly, turning a bit and smiling at her. "We can always go back towards my home. The woods are nice and quiet..." he suggested, thinking about it again for a moment. He brought up a hand and stroked her cheek gently as he kissed her in return. He gently hugged her and smiled as he awaited her answer.

"So...how did your mining trip turn out?" she asked. "It went well, up until my first run in with the chicken... It just biting me felt like it wore me out..." he murmured, remembering the strange, tiring feeling the bite had left him with.

The woods are nice and quiet..." he suggested, thinking about it again for a moment. He brought up a hand and stroked her cheek gently as he kissed her in return. He gently hugged her and smiled as he awaited her answer. "Okay" She hugged him back and touched his hair, then his cheek. She looked into his eyse for a momment then took his hand and headed down towards his house.
