The octopus merely shook his head, saying nothing more in his quiet state of misery. He sighed, using his various limbs as a pillow as he settled back as though ready to fall asleep right there and wait for the blissfull embrace of death to give hm his turn.

"Hey." Sid lightly poked Billy in what he feared was a futile attempt to drag him back to the present moment. He held up one of the pieces of sushi to him. "At least eat something. One thing. Humor me."

Alec chuffed a laugh, a chunk of bread partially hanging from his mouth as he watched the two with amusement. Billy was starting to act like more of a senile old man than even Sid sometimes reflected, falling asleep spontaneously and muttering incoherencies. This all could be attirbuted logically to the sedative collar around the octopus man's neck, but it was much more fun musing about the side effects than the futility of coming up with a way to remove it safely. Knowing the Doctor, it was impossible anyways.

"Wake up ol' timeh." The teen snickered again, nudging Billy in hopes of getting a rise of him. It seemed the fear of sitting next to a murderer had all but discipated.

"Wos' th'point?" The depressed octopus murmured, "Aint no... bloody point." He didn't look up, his skin pale and getting paler as he slowly began shifting color from bluish lavender to a pale, greyish white.

"Look, man, I'm in no rush to find out the answer to the ultimate question, and and neither should you be." He worked on seperating the scrap of raw fish from the rice if only to give himself something to do. In his very limited and unpleasant experience with the stuff the rice only seemed to expand in your mouth, anyway. "Now, I'm not a religious man, but I'm willing to bet the devil's got an iron in the fire for both our asses."

Spiritual threats, what a way to go at it. He was at a loss for what else to say. There was so much for him to live for? That made him almost laugh. Which brought him back to the question of why he was wasting his time trying to keep the octopus alive.

Because it was the right thing to do, maybe. The other potential reasons would be too unpleasant to go through as most of them concerned fears about his own future.

He held the piece of fish closer. "C'mon, just one?"

Alec grimaced at the threat, such a foolish thing as a spiritual curse having more affect on the boy's conscience than he would've liked to admit. He blamed it all on his upbringing, damned Sunday school and the like. "Down th'hatch, mate!" The teen smiled reassuringly and patted Billy again, even as he got up from his seat to leave. He'd finished his sandwich and he'd had his swim in the lake, so the youngster figured he was due for a lazy nap back in his room.

"Ay. Ye blokes will be a' th'pawteh, righ'?" He would've liked to think he'd know SOMEone at the party if he was going to make an effort to go.

Billy hadn't even been aware that there was a party, let alone know whether or not he was going to go. Regardless, he seemed too caught up in the thought of hell to notice, a terrified look coming over his features as he raised his tentacles to his face, "Go t'hell? M'already there!"

"More than likely," Sid said, pulling the fish. "Guess I'll see ya there."

His attention was knocked back to Billy when he spoke. "Aw, c'mon, it could be worse." He didn't exactly know how it could be worse, but there had to be at least a few things on that list.

As for the party... If he was going to drag the ocotopus along he was just going to have to hope he too sedated to argue... and that people didn't assume things. He shuddered at the very idea.

How long he wondered, before Billy noticed he was gone. For that matter, how the hell was he going to feed him? Again he hoped the heavy sedation would help, horrible as that was. He hoped for a lot of unlikely things, it seemed like. He thought about that as he held the piece of fish back to Billy.

"Me brain's broke... got no bloody wanker, go' no bloody hands fer tha' matter..." He shook his head forlornly, eyes wet and dribbling again.

"You could just be a torso. Y'know, with no limbs whatsoever?" He snickered. "We'd have to roll you places..."

He cleared his throat. This was no time to be silly, at least not out loud. "Seriously, just one."

"M'no' hungry," The octopus reiterated stubbornly.

"For Chrissakes you're starving, man," Sid insisted.

Billy's mouth twisted into a wide grin and he gave a weak giggle, "Tha's th'idear."

Sid scowled. "Just eat the goddamn fish."

Billy shook his head, leaning back in his chair, various limbs draped over themselves nonchalantly.
