"We already know it's not sugar. But the kind gave him a wierd look, maybe it's just an annoyance that wizards carry for casting spells or something."
He tried to keep a pleasent aura. But sometimes it was difficult. The longer he stayed in this underground place, the more uneasy he became. He didn't like it, or what the king was trying to make them do. But...he certainly saw Warren as no threat.
The poor mage tripped over his robes. The growling and hissing, which seemed to be some sort of language, was making him very nervouse.
"T-the forge is located far from the throne room. King Dimirtri is concerend with fire hazards, because of all the old tapistries. But we are there now." He motioned with one hand (the other clamped securly to his sugar bag) to a large, blackened room filled with the sounds of metal stricking metal.
"Finished products are over there, against the far wall. You may choose from them." His was shacky, betraying his nerves.

Esmeralda had remained silent for most of there trip and conference with the king. She knew that words would not sway that Onyx from what he wanted to do, all that she could do was make sure that he lived long enough to get killed by his parents/ "I have no needs of your weapons, I have plenty of mi own," She said tapping lightly at her shirt.

Moonstone thought for a moment' "I only brought my bow anr arrows with me. Not that I had time to pre-pare." Walking over, he picked up a two headed axe. HE checked the weight and balance, and decided what the hell? She shoved it through a belt loop. "That'll do for me...." Then a look to their guid. "Warrren, aren't you going to take anything?"
A sheepish blush to his pale face. "Oh, no I don't need physical weapons thank you."

"You magic users never do. confident in your spells. Probably a big reason why our father was able to kill and eat so many of your type."
He looked over the weaponry, smirked at his brother.
"If I'd given you more time you'd have never came and prolly made sure I didn't either. I got my daggers, but more toys can never hurt."
A looked around, and picked up a mace, put that in a belt loop, and then picked up a scimitar, and ran his finger along the edge, a flare fo red aura as the blade sharpened to a level only a demonic forge coudl create.
that went in a loop at teh other side. four weapons and a grin at Warren.
"Not too bad on teh selection. I bet me and my brother could craft some things better though. Where's the next port of call?"

Esmeralda merely stood there shaking her head, her arms held loosely at her sides. "You two could have had more power than that, but as my father, and even yours said, true power comes only to those that have no want to use it." She said, laying her hands on her hips, looking oddly like her mother when she did that.

Moonstone rolled his eyes. "I would have done a lot to keep you from doing what you did."
Warren viaibly trembled as the black vah spoke to him. Eaten so many of his type...shacky grin. "I assure you that I would not taste very good." His curiosity was peeked by the small show of magic. He would continue to observe. Warren looked frail, and addimited he was a bit of a coward, but he was observent abd intelligent. Probably why the kind let him stay in the Wizen Tower so long.
"We will head straight to the Peninsula from here. There is a ferry that will take us."

" Well you look a little lean, I'll give you that. prolly have to rend the meat you got and make travel jerky out of it."
He was really enjoying rattling the mage.
"Ferry sounds nice. relaxing. sure they won't blow us out of the water though? or is your sugar going to save us? and you know, for the addict the king made you out to be, you sure don't seem overly eager to be scarfing that stuff down."
Another casual comment, not really ment to get a reaction other than the wizard's own thoughts to working.
"Once again, lead the way, Magi."

Warren shoock in his robes. "Y-yes the ferry is relaxing. And there is no garuntee that they will not attack, but my sugar as you call it.." whopps sliped on that one. "Uh, never mind."
Moonstone raised and eyebrow. This guy was not telling them sometihng, althought the 'sugar' didn't really seem to be a big deal. A personal item perhaps?
"I am also concerned about these flame pillars. The, what do you calll them?"
"Purians"
"These Purians, are you sure they are the ones creting this?"
"Look, stragners. I cannpt speak of this much right now." His eyes shifted as he led the way to the ferry, a simple raft like boat with an old man and a young boy as paddlers. "Too many people could be listening.

Okay, so Onyx didn't like being told basically to shut up, and didn't like it when moon got told it either. especially on somethign that was farily important. if they were going to make these purians cease fire, then they better damn well know they are the ones fireing in the first place.
So not a big surprise, Onyx grabbed his shoulder and spun him around directly in his face with a snarl, the other hand gripping the front of those robes.
"You really think I care at all who is listening? these are things we need to know. you better damn well be sure you think is doing the shooting is. and since you let somethign slip about your sugar.."
Onyx jerked the bag away from him.
"How about I throw this in the water and see what happens. My brother asked you legitimate questions abuot this trip, and I would think you would answer them simply because they are things we need to know."

Warren's ice blue eyes squinted, but he did not try to pry himself free form the creatures grasp. A glance at the paddlesrs told him they wren't listening, and would talk if they did her something. "I would not be so up front about things you do not understand, cat. These are delicate matters." A hand stretched out to his bag, and it pulled itself from Onyx and into his hand. "This is something the king doesn't approve of, therefor it's not to be discussed. The fire is another matter that I will not discuss until I have done mroe research."
Out in open water now, it was easier for Warren to talk. "I am not a respected magi, because I am so young and looks so helpless. But for all my power the king has more. So when one does not want to die, one follows orders."
Moonstone put a restraining hand on his brother's shoulder. "Onyx, there is no need to frighten the man." A raised eyebrow about the power comment. He did though, step as close to the robed mage as his brother.
"So, what your saying is that you know something?"
"Yes. Observant of you."
"So what are you going to do...when you are no longer afraid of death>"
He held up his bag of sugar. "I create this."

"So then if I were to just rip your throat out it wouldn't matter none, would it. we just relax out here a few days and then go back and say no luck we couldn't get close and your little buddy got himself killed."
Fur raised abit, and a growl, but he stalked over toward the front of the boat, hands clenched and going over his calming routines. He wanted to tear that mage apart. he really didn't want to be playing patsy becuase some snotty mage wouldn't tell them anything.
"Your king don't have any protection to give you out here. Me or my brother can kill you on a whim. and trust me, I would have no problem with leaving your corpse sinking into the water. I'm the mean one. the dark side of the ying yang everyone equates us with."

Okay, he was cowardly, he was skinny, and he certianly was not an intimidating guy. But he knew how to face the truth. "You are quite right sir. Kill me now and it would not matter. In fact, that's the reason why I was sent to guid you. Because I don't matter."
Moonstone put a hand to his head. Honestly, his brother just didn;t stop did he?
"But you're wrong on the protection thing. I can defend myself."
Moonstone took a breath, not to calm himself but more like to by time. "So what? You're a mage, you can protect yourself. Onyx could still kill you I'd imagine. But what kind of dangers are we facing? I mean, the king would not even send in loyal subjects, but strangers that he has never met."
"And therein lies the problem. No one from Deep Water has ever been to the penisula before."

"So we are test dummies, and he's hoping that our looks give us leeway, and then our little observant annoyance reports back on what he sees and probably does something devastating with his reagent, we get left behind and he goes back and says all is well."
A snarl, and a look back at Warren, crossing his arms but extending his claws.
"Am I close?"

"I'd say that's about right." No cocky smile, no set of the shoulders. It was the plain truth, and Warren did not enjoy being the messenger. After all, Dimitri had sent him here with half hopes of killing him.
Moonstone nodded a bit. He had figured as much. After all, why strangers? Well, now that Onyx had spoken it; it was just obviouse.
"Well. maybe these people aren't so bad."
"We really have no idea of knwoing that. The have very little contact with the outside world, besides the sea-weed trade of course. But for some reason, the Purians are never seen when trades are made."
"Oh well, that's not suspicious at all, is it brother? And calm down, you're going to hack up a fur ball."

Onyx was silent. just watching the water hit the ferry. Before he moved back to Warren and Moonstone..giving a look to Emmie, and grabbing that bag again, and picking out a handful of it, and throwing it into the water, just to see what would happen.
"Why do I get the feeling that the pillars of fire are not Purian, but Deep Waterian, in nature. The more we hear, this King sounds less like a lordly monarch and more like a bloodthirsty tyrant. and if he is, why haven't you mighty wizards killed him. Or is he a mage as well?"
