[We only have to be afraid a little bit as we sit here under the beautiful blue sky.]
An island, wonderful, precisely the place she did not want to be at the moment.
"Peaceful, isn't it?"
"The river's hard to ignore."
"Ah yes, I suppose the water's a bit much, but if there wasn't water we couldn't fish."
Aido's eyes shifted, taking in the sight of what was, indeed, a fishing pole set up, its handle dug into the sand next to where the Kibeth woman, was sitting, blinking up at her.
"You may wish to sit down, otherwise one of us is going to end up with quite a nasty neck cramp," Kibeth commented warmly.
Moving closer the Tale sat down, legs curled up to her chest, feet staying firmly away from the slips of water that coursed over the rough sediment that littered the bank and, most likely, the river bed itself. "What're you fishing for?" upon closer inspection the fishing pole had only a string attached, the hook that should have been at the end was missing.
"I will, or we will I should say, know when we catch it. But onto bigger things where do you think you are?"
Aido risked a small glanced around, "on an island or possibly asleep."
"Tis' the later."
"Then what are you? A dream?"
"I'm a fragment. I'm you actually. Possibly. Maybe."
One dark eyebrow quirked upwards.
"Ah! See! Definitely a maybe I think, I never could get that trick down, Raelhem would always do it at me, it was infuriating."
"I'm confused."
"I'd be frightened if you weren't."
"What are you?"
"I already told you."
"No you didn't."
"Yes, I said very clearly 'I am a fragment.'"
"A fragment of what?"
"Of you."
"We're going around in circles."
"A very keen observation. Have you ever argued with yourself? Yes? This is like an extreme version of that. Now try this; start asking questions."
"Who are you?"
"My name is Kibeth."
"Are you alive?"
"No, I died a very long time ago."
"But you're here? In my mind?"
"Yes. Or perhaps you're in my mind or we might only have one, shared mind."
"You don't know?"
"Do you?"
"No, that's why I asked."
"Then I don't know either."
The Tale's face fell and she tilted her head, "I think this is only making me more confused."
"Ah yes, well, let me try to explain as best I can. We have two conflicting knowledge bases from two completely separate times, well, actually three, I don't know if we share a spirit or a shadow or what else, but you have my memories, though you've only remembered a few of them," the older woman scratched at her cheek, "it's quite weird actually."
"Three? There are only two of..." a flicker of a memory, the other girl from the dream before she'd gotten lost.
"Yes, her. She's our third."
"So...we're all separate?"
"I a way, I know myself and our Other were separate but the manner of your existence is quite different from ours. Someday you may very well recall all of both our lives along with your own."
"So that means...I'm not me?" she was... a patchwork quilt of sorts?
"Of course you're you! Whoever you are, have grown into, have become as your bizarre 'I was born from a book' self you did so with influences, yes, but despite those influences your are neither me nor the other, you are merely you," the woman was staring at her intently and Aido gave a slight nod as a reply.
"Were you both Shadow Mancers?"
"I was, the other... was, but wasn't."
"Are all your answers going to be vague?"
"Of course, we're working off your knowledge base."
"So you are a figment."
"No, I'm a fragment."
"Is there a difference?"
"You don't know."
"I don't suppose hitting my head against some hard surface would work here?"
"Nope, and don't pick up that habit, it never helps."
"Aemu does it."
"Still a bad habit."
Aido huffed slightly, she was still exhausted, flustered and feeling very off balance because of the events of the last few days and this conversation with...herself wasn't helping in the least.
"I agree completely," Kibeth chimed, "let's turn to lighter topics, hrm? How goes the Shadow Mancing?"
"I couldn't do it when I was facing the Illis."
"Of course you could, if you hadn't, you'd be dead right now. How old are you now? Ten, eleven months? No more than a babe! I agree you must teach yourself to be focused during a fight, but you did admirably."
"I feel like I need a teacher."
"For Shadow Mancing? No. Never ever take a teacher."
Aido blinked in surprise at the suddenly sharp tone, "why not?"
"Stand up," Kibeth stood, dusting off the dress she was wearing and dug her feet into the ground. With seamless ease the older woman pulled a shadow upwards into her palm.
Aido was forced to cup the shadow herself, dragging it upwards as she stood, causing Kibeth to quirk an eyebrow.
"Before you learn anything else you need to know how to draw the Shadows out of themselves and to you otherwise you'll forever be contained to the need for touch."
Aido nodded slightly, "how do I learn that?"
"Feel for it and practice your grey matter out."
"Grey matter?"
"Organs, brains and suchwhat. But, anyway, watch," Kibeth took hold of the shadow which immediately stiffened and changed, becoming a long, elegant whip. "Can you do that?"
"I think so..." it took a moment and several tries but soon Aido was standing, facing her.... other self?
"Now attempt to strike me."
Aido did, only to watch as her whip was grabbed and dissipated in her hand, falling in whisps to join its fellows in the shadows around their feet, "what was that?"
"See? To learn from another is to subvert yourself, at least in the case of a Shadow Mancing technique. If you copy another they have the ability to disperse what you create."
"Why would a teacher do that?"
Kibeth blinked, taking in the girl's sincere expression, "not everyone in these worlds is kind."
"Oh...."
Trying to lighten the tone and bring the conversation back to its original subject Kibeth smiled slightly, "but what you can do is supplement your technique with other things, whatever martial arts and such what your world offers is a good place to begin, though I would suggest that you start with something that focused on meditation and sharpening your focus so that you don't need someone to protect in order to get the shadows to do what you ask."
Aido groaned and cradled her head in her hands, "can't I just rest like a normal person and have dreams about flying goldfish?"
Kibeth sighed and rubbed at the back of her neck, "alright, no more heavy talk if you're so against it..." blue eyes glanced up, a sly smile on the older woman's face. "So then~what about that redhead you were with?"
Aido's eyes snapped up at the subject change, "what?"
"You know, the redhead about yey tall," the woman motioned with one hand then pointed to her chin, "bit of fur on his chin, I was never for that, not really, thought it looked silly, but if you like it go for it! Or shave it when he's asleep. He might be a bit pissed off if you take that route. Though I'm sure he'll forgive you."
Giving the older woman a baffled look, Aido finally stood, threw her arms in the air and walked off.
And ended up right back where she started.
This wasn't a dream, it was a repetitive nightmare.
"I think I hate this place."
"But you like the red~head!"
"He's none of your buisness!"
"Ohhoho, but he's your's?"
With a scowl Aido grabbed at a bit of shadow and pelted her other self with it. The rule about not hurting other didn't apply to herself.
The older woman grinned and danced away. This was too much fun. Had she acted like this around puberty too?
Probably, but hey, there was nothing like taunting yourself. Fun without a guilt trip.
She paused and her next quip died on her lips as a light from nearby caught her attention, "aha! Looks as if our quarry has arrived!"
Aido, who'd been readying another bit of shadow glanced to the side. The shadow fell back to its fellows in the form of grains of sand.
"The Golden Carp..."
Eyes shifted and Kibeth smiled slightly, "of the sky. Ixtili, Denizine."
The fish's eyes swivled and its fins waved, with the motion it's golden sheen increased and suddenly flared with a flash of blinding light, forcing both Kibeth and Aido to look away.COME NOW. STAY AWAY. Eyelids wrinkling Aido pressed her head against the soft surface of her pillowcase, struggling back to wakefullness as the echoes of the duel voices followed her back.
Golden eyes slid over towards her as she pressed herself up, willing seemingly lead lined limbs to work as she struggled to obey the commands set upon her.
-You should rest.-
"Can't... suppposed.. need to..." the words spilled out but didn't connect. She couldn't seem to think properly....
-If you don't do it willingly than your body will force you,- Rael warned, drumming his fingers. How odd to be in bipedual form.
But then again nowadays everything seemed to be a bit odd.
He looked to the young Shadow Mancer. Bi-colored eyes were clouded as she wavered between obeying her body's screams for rest and something Rael couldn't identify, but was sure he didn't like.
-Sleep,- the word was laced with command and over their link there was nothing Aido could do about it.
If she remembered about it later she'd probably be angry with him, but somehow the Shadow doubted she was awake enough to recall anything.
"'Kay..." the girl finnally conceeded and slumped back onto the bed, eyes sliding shut.
Rael smiled and leant back, he was tired as well....
Blue eyes slid open again, "Rael...?"
-I thought you'd gone to sle--
She didn't let him finish. "Rael... not Raelhem...?"
An odd sort of smile quirked his lips, a motion that didn't quite belong to him, -no. Not Raelhem.-
A smile tugged at too young lips, "waiting?"
-Always.-
"M'glad..." eyes slid closed once again and both presences slept.
An odd feeling passed over Rael as he watched the gentle rise and fall of the girl's chest beneath the blanket. He couldn't, or perhaps just didn't want to, name it.
Standing his form slid into it's 'normal' quardraped form and he melded into the nearby shadow of the wall.

[Oh what a celebration we'll have today.]Khia Chiirrup! chirrup! A tall furry black creature carried a small box - with...holes? - carefully in his hands; the contents already excited enough as it were without him jarring it further. "I hope she likes you, thing." Khiarhu flicked his tail and peeked into the box at the ice-colored ball of fluff nestled inside. He set the box down on Chao and Aido's doorstep - Syrie had every author's address, and he'd taken it from there - and chuffed. Whatever was in the box made a trilling sound and fluffed itself - it wasn't cold at all, as a matter of fact...it rather liked the cold...and as such, it would be fine until Aido or Chao came home to trip on it. A note on the box read: "Happy Winter gift-giving Holiday, Aiiu. - Khia" Apparently, the shapeshifter had grown more skilled with a pen, because the lettering was rather neat, with slight flourishes on certain letters. Inside the box Aido will find: It was mid-afternoon before the Tale ventured outside, peering about to make sure her parental figures weren't about to jump out from behind a post and shove her back inside where she'd be 'safe'. At first she hadn't minded the extra attention, having gone without it for so long, but now she was beginning to chafe.
Of course the idea of being able to look out for herself without her mother watching over her shoulder was nearly killed when she tripped over a box, barely managing to right herself before she fell into a snow bank.
Turning around to see what was the cause of her near collision with the icy landscape and blinked when she saw the box which was now lying on its side, trilling wildly.
Approaching cautiously she picked it up with her good arm, as the injured one still confined to a sling and looked at the note, smiling slightly, "Khia..." Winter gift-giving holiday hrm? She'd have to ask Aemu.
Sitting down on the cold steps she opened the box carefully and gasped when the little creature poked its head out, flapping wide wing-like ears and nipping playfully at her fingers.
"Well... hello there little one," she said with a small smile, running bare fingers over it's back in a careful pat and receiving a trill in return.
The Tale frowned, "you need a name." Another trill and Aido attempted to recall the names she'd heard in books and stories, "Altair. That's the name of...a star. I think. How about that little one?" The thought gave another warm trill and Aido smiled, taking it as an agreement. "Okay then Altair, care to join me for a walk?" placing the thought on her shoulder where it immediately scrambled partially under her scarf.
Placing the box back inside the Tale shut the door and hopped back down the stairs, heading for the nearest path that led into the woods, Altair trilling on her shoulder.

How long had it been? Angelus couldn't keep up counting the days it had been since he'd seen Aido last. Silent had given him an allowance and instead of using it for himself, he saved up and purchased gifts for his dearest friends. Tis the season or something to that effect. He didn't understand the Christmas season all that well. But the presentation of gifts was easy to understand. Angelus asked Silent for Aido's address. It seemed like the Tale owners were given that kind of information because Silent gave him a sheet of all the Tale's home addresses. Angelus headed off to his destinations and Aido was on the top of his list. Carrying the basket, a blue egg tied in silver ribbon was placed comfortable among a white blanket. It was to be a surprise and he didn't want Aido to see him. Yet. Walking along the path, he walked up towards the front door. He let out a sigh. He wanted to see Aido again. It's been way too long, he thought. Placing the basket before the door, he slipped an envelope next to the egg. He made sure the egg was bundled warm before he left it for his new caretaker. Angelus hurried off to a few more houses. This is what the letter said: Dear Aido,
I'm so glad to have as my best friend. I miss our adventures and fun times together. I didn't mean to leave you alone without saying goodbye. I'm sorry. Can you ever forgive me? Well, I bought you this small gift and I hope you like it. If I only I had a better allowance I would buy you something better. It should be hatching soon so take care of it.
I miss you and I can't wait to see you again so we can go out on another adventure. You're my best friend and I wouldn't have it any other way.
Love always, Your best friend, Angelus
P.S. Merry Christmas!

[Even when I turn it off and blame myself, the outcome seems the same.]
It'd been months now. A new year had since taken the place of the old one.
It wouldn't have been hard to put things behind her, or ignore old scars and the bothersome memories. To simply dive back into life
But she hadn't. Bothersome, annoying, and downright frightening as it all was to think about, she was worried by the events that had taken place on Reit and couldn't just ignore them as if they'd all been a bad dream.
Aido sighed against her scarf and shrugged off her threadbare frockcoat. The worn coat was one of the few things she'd brought back from Reit and still held on to.
"There's nothing in any of these," she stated unhappily, toeing away the volumes of books she'd been reading for the past few weeks. Nothing. Not the barest mention of an island named Reit or a creature called 'Illis'.
A quack and the duck like creature that had hatched from Angelus' present scuttled by, she'd since taken to calling him Topi, followed quickly by Altair. The two creatures didn't have a care in the world except running and playing.
"I hope Angelus got his gift..." she murmured into the air, vaguely wondering how long it'd been since she'd last seen her friend and if he'd changed at all. It seemed everyone had changed, somehow or other....
Well, then again, time did that to people. It wasn't anything to be scared of.
Raking one hand through her hair she glanced at her shadow; restlessness hitting her hard as her attention resumed to the issue at hand.
"Rael? You awake?"
-Mrrrghggggg...-
Frowning she prodded at the shadow, "Rael? Comeon Rael, you're at least sortof awake."
-MMMMMMMMMhhhhmmmmmmmmmmmmm...-
Making a face she stuck one hand into the shadow and proceeded to pull her Companion out by muzzel.
-Yes! Okay! I'm up!- breaking out of her hold he shook himself and huffed, sitting on his haunches. -What is it? I thought you'd gone back to reading.-
"I'm done, there's nothing," uneasily she pulled her frock coat back on to help ease away the new goosebumps, "I think we should go back."
-Back? To Reit? Aido you must be kidding.-
"I'm not. I don't like it Rael. I hate it. The Illis could follow me through the shadows, it yanked me out, it hasn't come back yet but what if-?"
-How do you know it's even after you and would expend the energy needed to follow us here?-
Aido dug her fingers into the shadow cast by her bedsheets, "You are the one my mistress sent me for," she repeated quietly, rolling onto her stomach and causing several of the book to fall off the bed, scattering pages and probably creasing a few corners. "That's what it said. I want to know why it was sent to... break my arm." And what else? Continue on? Maim her? Kill her? Who knew. "And what if it stays there and someone came along and it killed them? Or what if it came here? Leaving it out there and able-"
-You bashed its head in.-
"I cut off its arm too, it didn't seem at all phased," she replied, shutting her eyes and shivering at the ghost of the feeling of warm blood splattering against her back phantomed across her. "I feel like it's my responsibility to deal with it."
Rael sighed and bent forward, knowing whatever he said wouldn't cause Aido to put aside her notion of responsibility. The girl was incredibly stubborn in that respect.
Aido reached out and ruffled the writing fur like shadow that crested Rael's head, arm aching with the movement.
-It could kill you this time.-
"...it might," she admitted with a slight shrug. She had no desire to die, she didn't even like being in pain, despite how often she found herself injured. "I don't want to try and kill it right away. I want to see if the books in the library have anything on it. Then... then I'll see what I can do."
-We.-
She cracked a smile, if nothing else that meant Rael had come over to the idea, "yes, we. What do you thin-"
"Aiai?"
Aido shifted and watched as her little brother looked at the mess that was her room curiously.
"Hey Reid, what is it?" she asked, catching the look Rael sent her before sliding away.
"Can I talk to you?" he asked quietly, wringing two of his hands in a very un-Reid like way.
Concerned Aido sat up and patted the edge of the bed next to her, "of course. What's up?"
With a sigh the firefly hopped into the air, grace born from practice evident in the motion and fluttered over to sit next to her.
"Aiai... I need help."

::Listen to Your Elders.... ::
"Aiai! Aiai!" Reid threw his weight against his sister's door until it creaked and slid open.
Dragon plush grasped firmly in his hands the firefly Mishap flew towards his sister's bed, divebombing the curled up figure that lay atop the sheets, cradling a book and, apparently, attempting to ignore him.
With a squawk the half asleep girl tumbled off the side of her bed, her overexuberent sibling landing atop her and quickly shoving a plush in her face.
"Look! Look! It's bigger!" Well, the entire plush wasn't bigger, he'd only managed to get it's head to grow. But he'd been practicing almostly constantly since he'd fallen into Ike's bedroom and the desire to fix himself had been rekinded.
A pair of blue eyes blinked back at him and a frown pucked his forehead as he pulled the plush back to him, emerald eyes glaring as he took in the woman wearing his sister's face.
"You're not Aiai. Where is she?"
Kibeth mentally sighed and returned Aido's sibling's glare with a slight smile, "she's asleep."
"What're you doing out...?" he paused and tilted his head, before resuming his glare, "Kibeth."
Kibeth started slightly and frowned, "now how, little one, do you know my given name?"
Reid's expression didn't shift, "I could hear it, answer my question." The melody in the back of his head had started up again.
Holding up her hands Kibeth smiled, "I was taking care of necessities, her bladder would've exploded otherwise. Now, what do you mean, you could hear my name?"
Reid crossed his legs and fully sat on the Kibeth woman, still glaring, "I heard it, that's how I knew it. Why did you have to take care of things? Aido knows how to use the bathroom herself."
Aido's eyes narrowed in consideration as Kibeth eyed the firefly boy, "names are dangerous things to know, espically if they're not freely given." She replied slowly, before mentally shaking her head, feeling Aido beginning to rouse herself. Apparently the restorative sleep her mind needed could be damned to hell when her brother was around.
Kibeth sighed and smiled, "Aido's waking up, ask any other questions you have to her." She blinked and Aido's bi-colored eyes were suddenly on her brother, blinking sleepily.
"Nyeh? What? Reid? Wha'reewdoin'inmaroomh?" she garbled out, putting a hand over her eyes and rubbing. What time was it?
"Aiai!" Reid hugged his sister happily, "what was Kibeth doing out? Where were you?"
"Kibeth? You talked to her?" Aido blinked, her... whatever Kibeth was, had never talked to her family before.
"Mmhmm, she said you were sleeping."
"I... was," it was too early-late... whatever for all this. Still, the Tale offered her brother a tired smile, "what's going on anyway?" Kibeth poked at her consciousness, "did you want to show me something?"
"Oh!" his earlier excitement returned quickly and Reid presented his elder sister with the enlarged dragon plush.
She took it and smiled, "I take it the casting is going better then?"
Reid nodded happily, glowing warmly.
Aido hugged her younger brother and yawned again, returning the plush to his hands, "I'm glad."
Reid's smile shifted slightly to a half frown, "you alright, Aiai?"
Aido smiled and ruffled his hair, "I'm alright, just...tired."
"You're never this tired."
Aido chuckled, "well you and Kibeth did wake me up...."
Flushing Reid fluttered up and landed a few feet away, head bowed. He scratched at his hair, "sorry Aiai, I thought you were awake...."
Aido waved him off, climbing out of the heap of blankets and shoving them back onto her matress, "it's fine. It was an honest mistake," another yawn and her head wavered, eyes fluttering, "sorry Reid... I can't seem to stay awake."
Reid shook his head, "don't be sorry Aiai, just go back to bed." Waving he hopped into the air and headed out the door, "g'night Aiai! Sleep well!"
Aido returned the wave sluggishly and collapsed back into bed.

[January 24th, 2006]
[A step in time, yeah it's a lot to move, I know this will be temporary]
The morning dawned, dim through the heavy set of clouds which promised more snow later that day.
Aido was slumped against a book, desklamp still alight and reflecting gently off the curve of her halo, which was rotating gently on it's own axis, as if it was attempting to mimic the rings of a planet or something similar.
The door slid open quietly and Aido twitched before cuddling deeper into her arms.
Keeping the level of quiet Reid flew into the room, placing a plush dragon, one of his finest faction members, by Aido's cheek and gave his big sister a pat on the head before flying back out the door to tell the rest of the waiting family that their target was still sleeping like the dead.
Aido, oblivious to any conspiracies by her family, merely cuddled the plush closer and stayed wrapped firmly in her oblivion.
It was nearly noon by the time Aido actually woke up.
Yawning and stretching she nearly fell off her feet when she first stood up and was forced to sit again as her legs finished waking up.
Rael's snout poked into the air by her ankle, sniffling before submerging himself back in the shadows. Noontime, he hated noontime.
Aido quietly sent him a short wave of calm and stood up, unhooking her belt and dropping the pants she'd been wearing since the night before onto the ground. Stepping out of the legs and shivering as the winter air hit the bare appendages she shuffled about, yawning to herself.
Another late night and a nearly useless book. She couldn't seem to find anything on Illis' and gathering up the courage to go back and investigate for herself was much easier said than done.
Being at the mercy of those claws again wasn't something she was going to go willingly to. Not if there might be another way of going at it. A head on fight would probably just result in the same outcome as before, or worse, with her luck.
'Coward,' something, her conscious or perhaps just a vicious mental voice, jeered at her.
"I am..." Aido admitted quietly to her wardrobe before shrugging her shoulders and pushing it all to the side. Picking at herself wouldn't get this done faster.
Grabbing jeans, a long sleeved shirt, socks and a t-shirt she pulled on layer after layer to help guard against the cold and stretched, discovering a hole in the corner of her sleeve and then another on the other.
Mindlessly she popped her thumbs through them, wiggling them about until the fabric stretched to a comfortable place and exited her room.
Only to be tackled to the floor then bodily thrown into a fireman's carry.
She made a small, muffled noise of shock and fear, the shadows snapping to alert and nearly to her hand before she realized it was her brother who seemed to be kidnapping her.
"Fai! What're you doing?" she asked squirming in her brother's grip.
Fai looked back and pat her back, "escorting you downstairs, sleepy head."
"I can walk you know."
"Nu-uh, not today you're not."
"I don't think that made any sort of sense," Aido clung a little when they started to go down the stairs.
Fai hefted her up a little higher on his shoulder, "today is special. Special 'no work for Aido' day. No stress either."
"You're asking for a day that can't exist right now," Aido replied, patting his head awkwardly before she was abruptly placed back on her feet at the door to the kitchen.
Poppers exploded with various snaps and cheers, there was a massive meal set out and Fai slapped a hand full of confetti onto her head, narrowly missing her halo.
"Happy Birthday Aido!" her family chorused warmly.
"Birthday...?" Aido questioned finally, looking around in confusion.
Chao strode over and grabbed her daughter in a warm hug, "exactly a year ago you showed up at the Stationary shop with many theatrics. Congrats Aido! You're officially one," Chao chuckled, ruffling her daughter's hair. Not that Aido looked or acted like a one year old, but Chao decided to wave away the silly clashing details for now.
"So we're celebrating!" Reid chimed in from his place next to Rico, leaning his head against two of his hands.
Aido smiled, finally catching on, "this is... for me?" she flushed in pleasure, feeling warmth wash over her.
"Yep! Now come on, let's eat then we're going out," Chao said leading Aido to the table where everyone sat down a moment later.
The day passed by fairly quickly. True to her word Chao had dragged the entire family out, into the woods.
Aido wondered if all birthdays involved impromptu snow wars and contests about who could shove the most snow down everyone else's shirts which dissolved into yet another round of snow war (she and Rael had teamed up and eventually allied with Fai against their parents and Reid, Aido still wasn't sure who'd won.)
If they didn't, they were certainly missing out.
The day had ended with sparklers, which Chao had sworn to never give her children ever, EVER again as Fai had gone to great lengths to show his 'younger' siblings how to best light off a heap of them at once.
Cake and presents (another shock to which Aido had actually objected to, since she'd been told that she wasn't allowed to buy them stuff in return. Chao and Rico had thrown her out in the snow again as punishment and she'd had to change) had followed and now Aido was back in her room, feeling lighter than she had in a long time.
The small stack of presents was sitting on the tail end of her bed. A new pocket watch gleamed in the gentle moonlight filtering through the window, as did a new compass and the spines of a stack of books.
A necklace was dangling from her neck, just under her scarf, the obsidian surface reflecting moonlight and shadow. Aido knew she wouldn't be wearing it much, too high a chance of losing it, but she appreciated the thought, along with the silver ear cuff her mother had given her to go with the necklace and act as a replacement should she ever lose her's. Chao had also promised to take her to get her ears pierced someday (Aido had turned down the offer, not in the mood for self imposed pain.)
But the most interesting gift was the book she currently had in her hand. It was an old book, she wasn't sure if it even had a name, but it was apparently a first hand account of many other worlds and inhabitants, not to mention creatures.
A bold word caught her eye and Aido paused to read the paragraph.
Sentinel Class There is a curious 'class' of creature. They are all "man made" and commonly known as 'sentinels', though their specific title varies from world to world and culture to culture. The common trait seems to be that these creatures are bound, through physical or spiritual means, to an area acting under specific orders from their creators (thus the term 'sentinel' or "One that keeps guard" ). These orders can be as vague as "kill all, save myself, who enter this area' to a specific message meant for a singular, expected person.
While a sentinel may move freely within it's given area it cannot move outside it nor can it cross worlds to follow a person who stumbles into the area it is meant to protect.

Aido stopped reading and let out a breath she hadn't realized she been holding, immediately she was off her bed and dancing about. Yes! Oh gods, it couldn't come after her! It couldn't! It couldn't! YES!
Rael peaked his head up and in no time was dragged into the impromptu dance session as girl and shadow celebrated the time they'd been given (for there was still a deeper mystery here and a problem to be dealt with, but there was no longer the frantic edge to it all) and their own freedom.

Valentine's Day:: Part I
::Cause, effect, and leaving a meal to steam::
"Sooo~ is this a dinner or a feast?"
"Both."
"You realize there is only two of you, right?"
Rico's glared at his sister and wiped his hands on the apron that was covering his bloodred shirt, "get away from that cake. And I know, there shall be many leftovers for days to come. The fridge is big enough."
Chao laughed and licked at a frosting coated finger, "let's hope so." Sauntering up to her twin she gave him a hearty thump on the back, "don't stress out so much, okay? It's Jizzy!"
"I'm not stressed out."
"The two dozen chocolate eclairs says otherwise."
"Didn't you say you were going for a walk?" he snapped, glaring until Chao held up her hands.
"Alright, alright. Fai and Ai are watching Reid at the HQ. I'll be back in a few hours," pulling on her jacket and gloves she paused at the back door, the mid-morning sunshine shining through the window onto her lips as they quirked into a smirk, "oh, I almost forgot. I left some things in the drawer of the living room dresser, just incase you need them. Don't soil the couch, alright?" she winked, and bit down a laugh at the lovely shade of red her brother's face turned. While she was thick about affection the inner workings of sex and its accessories were less of a mystery.
"OUT!"
With a squeak the teen bounded out the back door leaving Rico to take off his apron and shake his head.
A minute later he was investigating the living room to see if his sister had been bluffing.
Sabotage. Yes, though she hadn't caught the little rascal she knew that this was sabotage. Jizzy was fuming slightly as she trode up the hill to Chao house. She was rather chilly in the clothes she wore, a kneelengh, backless red dress with some gold embroidery.. Very fancy. Very rich, and apparently rather old by the way it was sewn and cut.
Her closet had mysteriously been filled entirely with soot only hours before she had her dinner with Rico, and though Deimos had already vanished off to that ship of his, Jizzy knew he was to blame. THis dress had been saved solely because she kept it locked away in a chest, seeing how little she used it. SO now, that was all she had..
She reached the top of the hill and her little temper tantrum began to dissipate. She.. well the dress didn't make her look that bad. So, hoping for the best, she raised her hand and knocked on the door.
Rico jumped slightly at the knock before scowling at himself. He was not nervous, it was just Aeon's stupid paranoia rubbing off on him. Yes, that was it.
Taking a deep breath he grabbed the old fashioned, traditional Heanzian frockcoat he'd decided to wear over the rest of his clothing and, tugging it on, exited the living room and made his way to the front door.
A smile spread on his face as he pulled the door open, "Jizzy..." he breathed, eyes straying over the dress and the bit of bare skin he could see, before the cold began to creep it. It wasn't spring yet. "Oh, come in! How are you?" he asked in a rush as he ushered her inside and shut the door.
Jizzy rubbed her hands quickly across her arms to get the warmth of the house into her system as she smiled up at Rico.. He looked so handsome.. She felt the weight of te small purse she carried with her and smile broader. She'd gotten him a gift.
"It's nice to see you again.." SHe said, moving to him and givig him a tight hug for greeting, her hands still chilly.
Rico returned the hug, shivering at the brush of her chilly hands. Stepping back he took her hands and rubbed at them gently.
"It's nice to see you too, though not when you're so chilly, did you walk here without a jacket?" he asked, protective amusement leaking into his voice as he tugged her down the hall towards the warm kitchen.
"I was planning to wear the jacket you got me.. but.." She trailed off, her mind suddenly ticking away at punsihments before she snapped abck. "my closet seemed to mysteriouly fill with soot. Everything in it will have to be washed at least 5 times to get it back to normal.." She said, and though she was upset she smiled, her hands warming as he held his.. "I think it was Deimos' way to stop me from coming..."
Rico pulled a face, it seemed Deimos still wasn't fond of the idea of them being together. Well, not that they'd ever really given him reason to and hadn't Deimos basicly hated him beforehand? Or maybe it was protectiveness of Jizzy... who knew.
"He's expressive in his discontent, I'll give him that," he grumbled with a shake of his head. Taking off his frockcoat he drapped it over Jizzy's shoulders and his lips quirked upwards at the way the traditional clothing went together.
"Other than that have things been going well?"
Jizzy felt much better now with the coat around her, her hands keeping it close to her form. "Well enough.. Deimos had soem trouble for a while, but he seems to be ok now.." Despite the fact that she was ready to murder him, Jizzy still loved her son. "Found a way to make some extra cash too, so that's always a perk." She said, smiling. Mmmm.. something smelled good in here...
Rico nodded slightly and guided Jizzy from the kitchen into the dining room then into a cushioned chair.
"That's good..." he trailed off, brow furrowing in thought, "Jizzy... has Dia contacted you at all?"
Jizzy smoothed her dress down a tad nervously before shaking her head and answering.. "No.. not really.." She said softly. "But it's not liek I blame her. I'm rather inept at magic most of the time." She said, a goofy little grin still on her face.
Rico hugged her, "Dia's never even seen you work magic. It's just that she hasn't contacted me since the job in january, she hasn't contacted Ae' either." He shook his head," it's really unlike her, usually I can't get her off my back...."
Pausing he stood, "but, nevermind about that." It was a day for love, not stupid halfbaked worries. An impish grin tugged at his lips as he remembered his gift to her and he pulled out a bloodred bandana, "Jizzy, would you mind putting this on?"
Jizzy took the blindfold in her fingers tentatively, a sort of giddy feeling rising in her chest. She raised it to her eyes, knotting it behind her head. SHe chuckled. "I'll assume there'll be no peeking.." She joked, hand reaching out for his in her currently blind state.
"If you peek then you don't get to have any of the cake," Rico warned sternly, shaking a finger at her even though she couldn't see him.
After waving a hand in front of her face he quickly hopped off, dashing to one of the drawr's in the kitchen and pulling out a medium sized, dark-blue box. He spared it a fond look before turning about and heading back into the dining room, dimming the lights a bit. This gift was best seen in the semi-dark.
Quietly he took her hands and placed the box in them then tugged his blindfold up off of her eyes. With a nervous smile he gestured for her to open it.
Sitting inside, upon a small bed of midnight blue velvet was a gift.
Jizzy felt the blindfold leave her eyes and she looked down at the box now in her hands.. She noted the dimmed lights and looked over to Rico, before her gaze returned back to the gift.
She opened the box quickly and froze for a moment.. Her fingers slowly began to move, pulling the necklace from inside the box.. "Rico.. It's beautiful.." She whispered. She was never one to own much jewelery. It just wasn't a luxury she could afford anymore, but this. The way the stones colors changed from balck to green as she moved it slightly.. "It.. It really is.."
Internally Rico's inner self did a spontaneous little dance of happiness then prompty passed out in relief. The only part of that which leaked through to his outwards expression was a minute little foot spasm and a wide smile.
Gently he took the necklace from her and placed it around her neck, clipping it carefully. The black satin which covered the neckpiece fit snuggly, but not restrictingly, around her neck while the obsidian beads and tiny silver tubes splayed down around her neckline and collar.
Quickly he ducked in to place a chast kiss on her forehead, "I'm so glad you like it...it suits you," she looked like some sort of Victorian age noble woman with the dress and the frock coat accenting the necklace.
A small flush filled her cheeks as his lips touched her forehead and she smiled shyly. "I.. thanks.." SHe said, not really knwoing what to tell him. SHe loved it. "I.. I got you something too.." She said softly, though feeling like her gift wouldn't exactly match up.
Her hand went to her purse and she pulled out a small box, where inside rested an aztec gold medallion. She placed the box gently in his hands. SHe'd gone through a lot of trouble to find it. SHe'd hidden most of her possesion from Earth rather well. "It's Terran.." SHe said, explaining, seeing as, if she recalled correctly, Rico ahd never been to Earth.
Rico's eyes widened at the sight of the gold medallion, the world-trekking, archeological geek in him waking up and searching his memory for what the medallion reminded him of.
"Terran..." he said softly, before something clicked, "this is from Earth... Aztec's! The Aztec right? I've read about them," the crew never went to Earth and never expected to, but that didn't mean he couldn't read about the places that had existed there once.
"I never thought I'd even see something like this..." he breathed, tracing the golden marking with one finger, bluegrey eyes bright with excitement.
Jizzy felt joy rise up inside her. He liked it! "Yes.. It's Aztec.." She said, beaming at him. "I lived a lot of different places on Earth and I spent some time with the Aztecs...." She said. She ommited several tidbits about sacrifice and whatnot in her explaination. Rico didn't need to know about the bloody rituals they performed, not today. "SO, you like it?" She asked, hopefully.
Rico gaped for a moment, he always forgot about Jizzy's age along with the fact she'd probably been to more than he and his sister combined. "Wow... maybe someday we could go to Earth together?" he suggested thoughtfully.
At her question he nodded vigorously and hugged her, "I love it, thank you."
At hsi suggestion her heart gave a leap and she nodded vigorously, despite his grip around her. "Yes! There are so many places I'd like you to see and people to meet. Earth is a really nice place." SHe said, exitement creeping into her voice as she slung her arms around him. She calmed quickly as she held him though and smiled.. "Happy Valentine's Day, Rico.." She whispered to him..
Rico laughed happily, excited at the prospect of getting to go to Earth, with someone he loved who knew the place no less!
A content smile settled on his face, "Happy Valentine's Day Jizzy," he whispered back, giving her a tight squeeze and simply holding her for a minute before moving away, "so, what kind of chocolate are you in the mood for? I think I made..." he glanced at the kitchen and grimaced, "about every kind imaginable."
Jizzy eyes seemed to glimmer with a light that simply hadn't been there before. "You made chocolate?!" She asked, exited beyond all belief. She was a chocoholic. "Oh.. uh.. milk chocolate is good." She said, trying to make up her mind. She loved them all!
While Jizzy's mental struggle rage on, a loud knock came to the front door. There was a soft chuckled and a hand slipped an envelope onto the doorstep, before vanishing.
Rico grinned and dissapeared into the kitchen before reappearing with a small tray of chocolate crossiants and a small heart made of milk chocolate.
"Try these and tell me what you think," he said, placing the tray down on the table, "I think someone just knocked, maybe the post finally remembered we exist," he rolled his eyes at the thought and quickly ducked out to the front hall to retrieve the letter and check outside. But there were no other letters, no boxes, no crabby post grunting about hills, just a letter with no return adress marked for 'Mahlah'. Wasn't that Jizzy's given name?
Curiously Rico made his way back, making sure to give the letter a good rub on his wrist to hopefully disperse anything magical attached to it.
"Jizzy? I think this is for you..." he said showing her the envelope.
Jizzy had been very happily nibbing on a croisant, looking more lieka happy kitten than a noble woman at the moment she looked over at Rico. She pulled the crousant from her mouth, a tad bewildered.
She took the lettere gingerly and immediatly the large wax seal V on the back of it made her skin go perhaps 3 shades paler. It.. it couldn't be her again.. Jizzy opened the seal cautiously, and, feeling no magic inside the envolope, unfolded the letter inside.
Her skin could not have been any paler, and her hands began shaking as her eyes scaned the lines written in a language she ahd hoped to never see again. Dalian.. her first language.. The language of her homeland.
Jizzy gulped as she finished and she opened her mouth to speak. "I.. I.." She managed to breath before looking down at it and taking a deep breath, beginning to read out loud.
"Dear sister,
I miss you dearly. Even as I write this letter I wait the day when I can finally speak to you face to face. I am sorry I could not stay and visit you today, but your friend is about to have some rather important visitors. I was traveling abroad and during my short time in Heanza, I found some people very eager to see Aeon. I pointed them in the right direction: I hope you don't mind. I am sure they will be very grateful. They never would have found her without you.. I will be seeing you soon.
Love, Amalia. "
She could have collapsed right there...
Rico tried to read over Jizzy's shoulder for a moment before giving up and waiting for her to read it to him. He wasn't dissapointed.
At the first mention of his homeworld he froze, breath hitching, as the letter wnt on his entire body seemed to freeze up.
Aeon, Heanza, important visitors... she'd been right, all this time... and she was out intheforestandhe'dsentherthereohgods.
The teen suddenly lapsed into a bout of frienzied babbel, reverting to Heanzian. The rolling 'r's and slightly frenchlike lit all conveying his sense of panic as he turned and ran into the kitchen, pausing only to grab a slightly damp castiron and one of the larger knives that were laying on the stove.
The door clattered behind him and he sprinted towards the forest.
Jizzy just stood there for a while, gripping the letter in shaking hands.. Chao.. She was in danger.. and it was all her fault.. If she hadn't been there, they wouldn't have been found. Chao and Rico would have been safe.. A tear fell onto the paper..
Chao was out there.. in danger.. Jizzy heard the door slam after Rico's departure. Chao was in danger.. That fact reverberated time and time again in Jizzy's head. She re-read the letter.. They enver would have found her without you.. Jizzy crumpled the letter, dropping it harsly onto the floor. Her legs finally seemed to react and she set off after Rico.
It was all her fault...
It was only when they'd sprinted up the knoll that led to the forest that the cawing of frightened birds and the harsh roar of something broke the air.
Rico didn't lose pace as he entered the forest, the twigs and rocks dug into his bare feet and ripped at his pants but he paid none of it any mind. The trail he was leaving in the underbrush was a clear one as he followed the growing sounds of violence until he burst from the woods into one of the many fields that littered the area.
Across the way a burly man squinted and pulled the lit cigarette from his mouth. "Hey, Peregrin." Immersed in watching the action hidden by the trees the other man didn't reply.
With a rumble Jacque smacked him, rubbing the cigarette into the other man's neck. Pereguin yelped in pain and spun around and immediately throw a punch to land on Jacque's jaw. "Wha'n'da Seven Hael's did you do that for?" he spat, rubbing at the burn.
"You weren't paying attention, Cref," Jacque snarled and pointed across the way, "what do you think, Pip, that the slut's brother?"
Squinting Pip scratched at his three day beard, "he sure looks like her. Got the horns for it to," he laughed, "sa'ria's weilding a frying pan. Guess he figured out what was going on."
Jacque grunted and suddenly the roars and gunshots from behind them stopped, "looks like the curtain's going up. Go deal with the slut, if it really is her give'er a name dose. I'll deal with this crefcra."
Pip nodded and quickly slipped off into the forest.
Jacque took a few steps and threw his cigarette away, reverting to the language used in this world, "yo! Hold up, this is a restricted area," he called out to Rico and Jizzy.
Jizzy was rushing, grumbling about not aving worn tennis shoes when she skidded to a stop by Rico. Why had they stopped? SHe looked up, spotting the man in front of them. Restricted area? She was panting, guilt, worry, anger, all sorts of emotions swirling inside of her. Chao was in danger. They needed to move!
Rico hadn't stopped, swinging the frying pan he made to slam it into the horned man's head and just barely managed to stop and pivot when a gun was leveled and shot at him. The cast iron did it's work and deflected the bullet to spin harmlessly into a tree nearby, Rico's wrist groaned in pain as it snapped back slightly from the impact.
Jacque laughed, "so you are the little whore's brother! All grown up and attacking the big boys."
Rico snarled and darted forward, not bothering to waste his breath. Jacque jumped back and fired off another shot, grimacing when the tip of the teen's knife caught his neck.
Rico cried out when the bullet caught his shoulder but the sound was drowned out slightly the gasp of a feminine cry from within the forest.
Jacque laughed, glancing over his shoulder, "ah, looks like the Heifliam finally got her."
Rico's face contorted and he swung, pain be damned, "a Heifliam, you brought a Heifliam here?!"
Jacque bowed away from the swing, "on He'ancele's blessing. Hope your sister's a serpent charmer too."
Jizzy wasn't sure what a Heiflam was. SHe wasn't even sure what was going on, but once her eyes saw the blood on Rico's shoulder, once her ears heard his groan, Chao's cries, she just snapped.
All the pentup anger, for her family, for Amalia, fgor this man for even daring to hurt Rico came out at once and Jizzy lunged for him, shimmering with magic. Her hadn gripped around Jacque's neck, her eyes blazing. It was her fault.. The least she could do was get rid of these guys.
"Don't ever call my friend a whore..." She whsipered, a low dangerous tone that almsot seemed foreign coming from Jizzy's mouth and she sent a surge of magic through Jacque.
It crept up him, not giving him much time to react to fight back. There was a certain bamph noise and Jacque's head lulled in Jizzy's ironvice grip. Blood and chunks of brain matter began to slwoly creep out of his nose, eyes and ears...
Jacque had only a moment to fight away from Jizzy's grip and it was wasted on a laugh which nearly turned into a scream when his magical resistance did him no good.

[Valentine's Day:: Part IV]
[Lapse of Self]
Janet yawned slightly, damning the lateshift and the caffine crash she'd apparently just experiences. The nurse idly finished checking the various IVs and the bandages covering the young woman's bloodied, winged appendages, along with the various, often beeping machinery before finnally moving on, intent on making herself another cup of black coffee, shutting the door behind her.
It was several minutes later that Chao began to stir, grumbling and shifting, stuck on the edge of consciousness. Something was stirring, just under her skin. She could feel it and within her mind's eye a six-year old version of herself looked at the small dot of silver on her arm and wondered why the men in the shiny uniforms had seen fit to put a needle in her arm.
With a huff and a strain her eyes cracked open, misted and completely unseeing as the burning began to sharply increase and spread. It moved from just under her forearm upwards and down until it was just under her fingertips before violently spiking in heat.
With a gasp and a strangled cry she sat up, hands fluttering to paw at her throat desperately. All at once she was six and sixteen, memory and reality violently colliding as she tried to yell but was unable to vocalize more than a whimper.
Her pupils had shrunk to mere pinpoints, the washed out grey of her irises were nearly glowing, giving light to the room which otherwise had none. The whitewashed walls were almosty blinding bright, adding yet another layer to the pain.
She screamed again, fingers gripping at her neck so tightly it came out muffled as her muscles spasmed and fought against her own crushing grip.
The machines at the side of her bed merely continued to nonchalently beep in the same pattern as before, detecting nothing as her heart rate spiked and she finally wrentched herself up and away, ripping Iv cords out of her skin and stumbling over her own feet as she threw herself out of the bed, landing hard on the tiled floor.
Mewling in agony she pulled herself up and half stumbled half crawled towards the small bathroom, crashing in through the door. Her gaze latched onto the showerhead like it was some blessed artifact and she stumbled into the stall.
--
It was some time later that Janet found the young woman bleeding in the shower with the water set as hot as possible, scrubbing furiously at her skin.
It had taken the help of two other nurses to get the distraught patient out of the bath room and she'd fought furiously against them until finally being sedated, leaving the weary trio scratched and bruised from her feverent kicks and swipes and wondering why the machines set up had never alerted anyone to the situation.
They moved her to another room and thankfully the remainder of the night passed quietly.

[Valentine's Day:: Part V]
[End of the Day, Beginning of the Morning, and no rest inbetween.]
It was sometime later, in the early hours of the morning that Rico was forced to slip out and away from the covers. He left as quietly as he could after being roused by one of the nurse's who were on nightshift after scribbling down a note for Jizzy to find when she woke up.
Jizzy~
Sorry about leaving, I need to go check on Ae', sounds like something happened. Her new room number is 147, if I'm not back by the time you wake up that's where you can find me.
::Rico
Jizzy mumbled in her sleep, having another bad dream. Amalia plauged her thoughts now that Jizzy was sure she was here. She woke in a cold sweat after seeing Amalia go after Deimos and Tal. She shook with fear, refusing to open her eyes and her hands groped out searching for Rico.
But he wasn't there..
Panic filled her and she sat up, her head spinnign around frantically. Had she come? WHy ahdn't she woken up? She didn't see any blood or gu.. wait..was that a note..
Hoping against hope it was not Amalia, Jizzy picked up the note and sighed as she read it. So he was just seeing Chao.. Getting up and palcing her shoes on, she hoped CHao was ok. She tread out of the room, heading off to the room, arriving ina few minutes time and cracking the door open.. "Hello?" SHe whispered in.
Rico glanced up at the whispered greeting, he'd seated himself in a chair next to Chao's bed after chatting with the nurses. The teen looked, if anything, even more exhausted than the night before.
He smiled, though the movement was strained, "hey Jizzy. Come'in, she's out like a light again."
Jizzy frowned.. SOmething was wrong, she knew it.. Treading quietly into the room she moved to Rico's side, placing a soft hand on his shoulder.. "How is she holding up?" SHe asked quietly, trying hard not to look at the sleeping Chao.. The guilt would be to much if she did.
"She's doing better... now..." Rico replied, bringing his hand up to squeeze at Jizzy's while he rubbed at his eyes with the other.
Jizzy gulped.. She brought up her other hand to Rico's head, sttarting to stroke it, trying to comfort him.. "What.. was wrong before?" She asked tentatively, the movement of her ahnd through Rico's hair calming her slightly.
Rico leant into the touch greatfully, shutting his eyes, "I don't know... a nurse found her when she was making her rounds, she was in the shower, she'd set the temperature as hot as it could go and was scrubbing at her skin.... They tried to get her out and back to bed and she went crazy, bitting, kicking, scratching, screaming... I think she managed to tramatize a few of the nurses who were on watch."
He groaned, "I think she had a bad reaction to.. something. Maybe the drugs they gave her, maybe whatever that guy injected into her. But the bloody machines never registered that anything was even wrong. They did some blood tests and everything seems normal now... maybe she got it out of her system...."
Jizzy gulped. What had that man injected into her friend anyway? SHe continue to play around with RIco's hair, her fingers curving around his horns. "I.. I sure hope so.. but.. Chao.. She's a tough chick.." She said, trying to encourage Rico. "She'll pull through.."
Rico shivered slightly as her fingers curl around his horns. Horns are, naturally, annoyingly sensitive, espically to magic, which Jizzy practicly gives off in waves half the time anyway, or so Rico's horns say. Though they have been known to be deceptive....
Rico blinked and attempted to snap out of the derranged monologue. Too little sleep, too much stress... He nodded a few moments later to her statement.
"Yeah... you're right, she'll pull through, she's too stubborn not too..." he sounded a bit like he was trying to convince himself.
Jizzy sighed, her hand slipping off of RIco's head as she felt the weight of guilt resume in her stomach.. "Yah.. She.. She'll eb fine.." She said, her hand moving to her arm. She was starting to feel awkward, sitting around here.. She was the one to blame for all this..
Blindly Rico reached out and grabbed back the hand that'd fallen away. There something very comforting to him about touch, espically her touch, and he's in no state to question that comfort.
They're saved from having to create small talk when the doctor from yesterday arrives, glancing at the obviously not doing so well duo he frowns slightly, "Mr. Luaier, Mrs. Luaier, I'm quite sorry to have to do this, but I think I must insist you both head home and get some rest. The patient won't be waking up for quite some time now, and I believe it would be for the best for your own health and her own once she wakes again that you be mentally fit and not falling asleep on your feet."
Jizzy nodded idly, the back of her mind screaming out at the Mrs. Luaier comment. The doctor either though she was CHao's sister or Rico's.. her midns topped right there as did her movements.
She regained mobility in a while and tugged at RIco's arm.. "COme on.. The kids will want to see us.." SHe whispered to him.
Rico nodded vaguely, having apparently only heard half of what the doctor had said and allowed himself to be tugged out of the chair.
The doctor turned and quickly gave Rico the number for a nearby taxi service and instructed them to the nearest phone down the hall before shooing them out of the room.
Jizzy leaned her head gently on Rico's shoulder.. "Come on.. The taxi can drop you off first, you look liek death, Rico.." She said, moving for the payphone and quickly calling a taxi.
"They'll be here in a few minutes.." She said, hanging up the phone and sighing.. It had beena long day..
Rico continued to faithfully cling to one of Jizzy's hands like a lifeline, nodding his head, trusting what she was going on about, even though his lagging mind really wasn't keeping up that well.
As she hung up he lent against her and sighed, then laughed quietly, "we left the meal out, didn't we?" he shook his head gently, mourning the loss of what had originally appeared to be a fine Valentine's day. Jizzy sighed and nodded, leading Rico downstairs and outside to wait for the taxi. "I'll tupperware it when we get to your house.. THat way we can enjoy it later.. Maybe in front of the fire.." She suggested, sitting on the plastic bench outside.
Rico sat next to her, curling his toes and pressing his feet together, nodding a bit, the image that presented was appealing.... "That sounds nice, I hope it keeps."
The yellow taxi pulled up and Jizzy stood, helping the tired Rico to his feet. "Just prmise to get some rest, ok.." She said as she opened the door, ushering him inside and relaying directions to the driver.. Some Valentine's day this had been...
