Miss Pie Angus Young was born in 1959 right? Nope, 1955. The media pushed back his age to fit into the schoolboy thing. I'm shocked at how many people didn't know this. I blame the internet (I know, the irony is blaring).

V60 What scares me is that he was so damn young when the band started.. what was he.. 14? Actually, i heard a that when the band started, they made a rumor that Angus was only 14 even though he was 18 or 19. But I don't know if they really did that. It's a rumor of a rumor... or something...

Ugh I am so mad that Angus Young hasn't been crowned a Guitar God of the 1970s on VH1!!!!!! Well I haven't seen 1979 yet so he better be in the 1979 because Angus Young is awesome!

Angus is the BEST for any one who saw him live in concert that must have been awesome and i'd also like to add for those who have seen Angus live in concert you lucky son of b***h

Sorry. No offense to those who do say that Angus Young was born in 1955 but I refuse to believe that. There is just too much evidence proving that he was born in 1959 and I really doubt that the media would go that far. Here is just a short list of what I have right now:
1.  <--There is no way he can be 19 in that picture. Yes some people do look extremely young for their age but those that do usually don't lie about their age
2. The story just holds too well together. No matter how great a lie is, nobody can keep a lie 100% exactly the same every time it's told. I have seen and read interviews with Angus Young and family members (this was a while ago so I have to see if I can find the links to them) along with articles where it has the exact same story, that Angus was fifteen years old (well in the interview I saw he didn't say he was fifteen) when his older sister convinced him to drop out of school to be the lead guitarist in Malcolm Young's band.
3. When AC/DC played there first gig, obviously they weren't big yet because real bands do not get big overnite. So if Angus Young isn't fifteen then how does he still have an old uniform that if he had kept that the chances of it still being in good condition for a year are slim? If a band doesn't make a lot of money then Angus Young can't afford to get a new costume that would be in perfect condition.
4. What kind of person keeps up a like for 33 years? That just seems extremely pointless.
5. Does anybody know what job Angus Young would be working if he was indeed 19 when the band played their first gig? If Angus Young was 19 then unless he was mooching off of somebody, then he must have had a job. But what job was that? I have yet to hear what any of his jobs were other than being a student and a guitar virtuoso.
I understand that I may and probably am wrong in my thinking but I just want to hear other people's proof and what-not as to why they believe what they believe. I personally like believing that Angus Young was born in 1959 because that makes him only about 5-6 months older than my Daddy who is a huge AC/DC fan as well.

You know what's really scary? A good friend of mine, fellow lover of rock and guitar player has NO FRICKIN IDEA WHO ANGUS YOUNG IS!!!!! I was talking with him and someone else, and we were debating the pros and cons of different rock musicians and bands. I said the Angus Young was undebatably(sp?) the single most amazing ROCK GOD of his time. There is no one of the same era and music genre that could match his skillage. My "friend" was like, oh, that's great, who the eff is Angus Young? My OTHER friend (who actually introduced me to ACDC, and thus obviously knows who Angus Young is, looked at him and said "Dude, no." and walked away. I was just like yeah, that's not going to work. look him up in computer tech during free time.
My OTHER friend and I have since thoroughly educated my simple-minded friend in the miracle that is Angus Young.
