Ra sighed and smiled down at her. "Sorry we took so long this morning, part of the holiday is that we have to do charity things." He looked out over the park and hoped his father had not come to stir up trouble. Not only that but he did not want Obie to feel uncomfortable, which she undoubtably would if his father took against their relationship. "I hope my mother didn't go on too much." He said with a smirk. He had seen the photo album on the sofa when he had walked in.

"Don't apologize," she said automatically with a small smile, still watching him. She hated seeing the troubled look in his eyes, but knew she could do nothing more than simply be here for him. She returned his smirk and shook her head before leaning it gently against his shoulder as they walked.
"No. This morning has been quite enjoyable actually," she smiled and looked out over the park. "I like your mother a lot. Truly, I like your family very much. They are so much fun and very welcoming." She fell silent for a moment, and then looked back up at him. "She showed me some photos of your childhood," she smirked. "You were a very adorable little boy," she said as she moved to slip her arm around his snugly.

Ra laughed and wrapped his arm around her shoulders. "Thank you." He smirked knowing that his mother would have showed her as soon as he was gone. "I hope she didn't show you anything too embarrasing or depressing. I know some of the hospital ones are hardly fun."
He squeezed her shoulder as they stepped out onto the parade of shops and smirked. "It's a shame I won't get to see yours, unless you have them hidden in your room somewhere."

"We looked through the whole book. From circumcision to graduation," she smirked, leaning comfortably into him. "And... I'm rather glad that she showed them to me too. It's one thing to see your scars as they are now, and a whole other thing to have seen them when you were a child," she said softly, squeezing him tightly. At the mention of hers, she smirked and glanced around.
"It's hardly interesting. It's only half full. They gave up on it when..." she stopped and chewed the inside of her lip for a second. "Just before I came to Japan, and it's mostly just school photos. "It's packed away in storage with the rest of my books," she replied with a wry smirk. She couldn't wait until she was able to find a proper place for her things. "Did you enjoy your morning with your uncle and cousin at the mosque?" she asked, looking up at him.

Ra mock grimaced and shook his head. "mmm nice." He laughed. "Yeah, i don't like that album. Not totally happy childhood memories. "Well, aside from the presents people used to get me."
Ra looked downat her and kissed the top of her head. He understood her hesitation but smiled. "I would find it interesting. I bet you were a really cute kid. Yeah, I enjoyed it, though I missed you. Did you have a good morning?"

"I don't know. Cute might be too strong a word, but I might dig it out just for you," she smirked, leaning her head against his shoulder again and smiled when he said he had missed her.
"I did. I played with baby Ziba and helped with breakfast. Parisa was going to let me try on one of her hijabs and your mother suggested I freak you out by telling you I had converted," she smirked. As she fell silent, her smirk faded a little as her mind went back to his father's sudden appearance. Squeezing Ra tightly, she found herself praying that this would all end well. "Your mother says your family has already adopted me. Do you think that's true?" she asked looking up at him with a smirk.

Ra laughed at her words and looked back down to smile at her. "I think so." He said with a wink. "They love you, even my grandmother likes you. Because you are a wonderful person."
Reaching into his pocket he took out his wallet and shopping list as they approached the small store. "I know you are nervous about my father, don't be. If his opinion is negative then I do not want to know."

Obie blushed lightly at the compliment, one she didn't think she deserved really. But she quickly pushed those thoughts aside. She was a different person now, so maybe it could be true now. She looked up when he mentioned his father and gave him a small smile in reply. She knew Ra had a good head on his shoulders and a mind of his own, but she really would rather not become an issue for him between him and his father.
"I'm alright. I just hope for your mother's sake he brings good tidings rather than bad," she said with a small shrug as she thought back to the conversation she had been having with Lahleh.

Ra nodded. "I don't think he would be stupid enough to travel all this way to start an argument. Above anything he is a good man." He said as they walked up and down the rows of food. "I don't want to talk about it now though. When I know what he is doing here, then I'll think."
Sighing he picked up the various good Darya had asked him to get. "I hope so too." He said, condradicting his own statement. "I know she tries not to show it but she really misses him. Him too, he was a mess when I saw him last November, just after they finalised everything."

Obie simply listened to him. She knew that that was all he really wanted, somebody to listen to him. When he finished, she wondered if she should tell him the same she had told his mother. Squeezing his hand, she smiled warmly at him.
"Ne-chan, you must be right. It seems rather pointless to come all this way to pick a fight, and like I told your mother.... things didn't end properly. You can tell she still loves him very much, and I suspect, from what I've been told, that he feels the same," she said softly, stopping herself before she went too far. She silently cursed herself to giving in to her desire to feed him potentially false hopes, but she couldn't help it. She wanted it to be sorted for him already and for it to be a happy ending for all of them. It just seemed right. She didn't know much about proper families, but if she had to guess, the Kusanis must have been pretty darn near close to being one.

Ra stopped and turned to look at her. If they weren't in such a public place he could have kissed her for being so sweet. "It's all right Obie. I want them to be with each other for them. Not for me, I get to see them both no matter what. But I know they will be happier together. So I want that."
Taking the food up to the counter to pay he took tha plastic bag and walked with Obie back outside. "Let's take a slow walk back." He said with a smile. "Before we have to go back into the zoo."

Obie stopped with him and looked up into his eyes when he turned to look at her. When he spoke, she smiled and squeezed his hand gently. She watched him pay for the groceries and wrapped her arm around his waist as they stepped outside together.
"I rather like the zoo," she smirked a little, watching the people with a little more interest this time. After a few minutes, she looked back up at him with a small smile.
"Ne-chan... truly, why do you not want to go back to Iran?" she asked. "Isn't it your home where most of your family is? Isn't that where people usually want to be?"

Ra looked at her and shrugged. "I don't see a future for myself there." He said as they entered the park. "My mother won't go back, because she cannot work there and I would rather be near her. Back home ... there are too many expectations, too many rules."
He looked at her for a moment and hugged her tighter against him. "You couldn't come either, that would make me sad."

Obie kept her eyes on him as he answered her and smiled when he hugged her closer. "That would make me sad as well," she replied as she thought about his answer. "I suppose I ought to be very thankful that your mother is such a forward thinker," she smirked a little after a moment. "I suspect that you would still be Iran if she had not been," she said giving him a tight squeeze around his waist.

Ra nodded and smiled. Stopping he sat down on a bench in the shade of a tree, pulling Obie to join him for a moment. He wasn't ready to go back and face whatever it was his father had to say just yet. "Have you ever thought about your real family?" He asked, turning a little to face her. "Do you know anything about them?"
