"Alright," Owle said, wondering if Damian or Zetsu had ever considered the wonders of public transportation. Surely there had to be an easier way to get to...wherever the hell it was they were going. But she liked to make journeys on her own two legs, or wings, herself, so she understood in a way.
"Well, like I said, we have rooms available..."
She glanced over at Paul when he spoke, wondering what he was planning to do.
"AH!" The guitar drowned out her shout, even as Owle clapped her hands over her ears in a vain attempt to shut out the loud noise. She was still trying to recover when Kalis walked in through the door, looking like a ghost. Had he...? Oh, no, he wasn't a ghost, just covered in white stuff. Good.
"Don't worry about it, Kalis, I can take care of it," she called to him as he made his way up the stairs.
Still rubbing her injured ears, she turned back to Damian and Zetsu. "Anyway...the rooms're pretty cheap, and we've got more than enough available. Where are you going that you have to swim there, if you don't mind my asking?"

If there were ever a time for a bubble from Rage's nose to pop, this would be it.
... unfortunately, nothing of the sort happened. Sleeping soundly through the guitar riff, he awoke a few moments later, yawning with arms stretched out over his head. The term "heavy sleeper" just didn't seem to fit this guy....
"... what's everyone's problem?" He said groggily, scratching the back of his head and taking note of everyone's expression after the screech of the guitar. "You all look like I do after hearing Watts sing."
Without waiting for an answer, he let loose another yawn, much like the cat still sitting on his head, which looked far more irritated... probably because it's sensitive ears had picked up far more than Rage's.

Owle was staring at him, eyes wide, mouth agape.
"You...slept...through...that?" she stuttered, shocked.

The door to the Firebrand would swing open, forced by the shoulder/sword pommel attached to a slightly familiar face.
Sure enough, it was Athan.
He wasn't all bandaged up this time, although he did look pretty haggard. He was obviously in need of a shave, probably a bath, and judging by the dufflebag thrown over his shoulder, a place to stay for...well, ever. He was weighed down by all the gear one could possibly ask for to go to war. Three swords, two of which were much larger than the third, and had to be carried on his back. The last of the trio was just attached to his waist.
The door probably ended up banging against the wall before falling shut behind Athan, who just looked around for a moment before clearing his throat.
"So uhh...any vacancies?"

"Athan!" Owle exclaimed, after taking a moment to recognize him through the stubble. "Of course there are...just take the first open door, if there's no one's stuff in it it's probably vacant."
She wanted to pepper him with questions, but it looked like he really needed to just collapse somewhere and rest. "We can talk after you've gotten yourself some rest...looks like you've been through a lot since we last met."

"Hey, Owle."
He hadn't seen her at first, but Owle had a habit of being the first to pop up, acting friendly. At times Athan wasn't sure if that was the way she actually was or if she was just taught to act like that.
Either way, it was nice to see a friendly face for once. There was a slight smile, and he nodded his head towards her.
"Yeah, later then."
Athan trudged up the stairs, bag in tow. Once he found a vacant room (first or not, really didn't matter unless someone was changing in a room he checked), he threw his stuff onto the floor, grabbed a towel, a wrinkled pair of pants, and a razor from the bag, and headed towards the bathroom. A nice long shower, a shave, and then he'd go to bed. Probably for the next week or so. He definetly felt as if he could sleep that long.

After thinking for awhile, Zetsu came up with the short response, "I suppose you could come with me Sir, but I have a long ways to go.." Re-directing his attention to the lady at the bar, he answered, "Eh, I dont need to really swim anywhere..but I suppose I'll take a room.." Picking himself up off the counter, he slowly picked up his belongings near him and shouldered them. "How much are the rooms excactly? And by the way, nice guitar playing dude."

Upon hearing Zetsu reply he lets out with a laugh, "Its always a long way to go! Nobody ever hires a mercenary for something nearby! At least not from our organization. I go everwhere! Thats why the people call me the Wanderer-General! I go anywhere and seek the world! Most would think that I wouldn't move around so much. Oh well, I guess its wanderlust." He looks around at the bar real quickly hoping he wasn't too loud.

Paul looks slightly frustrated as all the guitar does is annoy the conscious patrons and cause the cat on Rage's head to leap up hissing and spitting...until he wakes up a few moments later. Then, before Paul can voice his annoyance, a veritable wave of patrons enter, leaving Paul slightly bemused.
Paul: This place must be a veritable hub of activity! I guess I chose the right pub to frequent.
He nods at Zetsumei to show that he heard the compliment, then packs his guitar back into its case.
Paul: "Well then, I guess I'll return to my ale."
He does so, plopping down at the bar and reclaiming his half-finished drink.

Owle rattled a price for the room off the top of her head. It was a pretty average price, reasonable for a place like this.
"Man after my own heart..." she commented to Damian. "I can never sit still for too long before going out and looking for trouble. Course, most of the time trouble finds me before I have to do a damn thing." The smile said she was joking, or if she wasn't, she enjoyed that kind of life.
She glanced over at Paul, the look in her eyes saying I can't believe he slept through that...but she didn't say anything aloud to him.

Paul catches the look and rolls his eyes as if to say "I hear you", then downs another mouthful of ale. This mouthful provides him a bit of trouble, and he coughs to clear his throat.
Paul: "Hah...tried to swallow too much."
He grins as he contemplates the dregs of his ale, then finishes them and thunks the mug on the smooth surface of the bar with a satisfied sigh.
Paul: "Good stuff."

"Oh, alright." He fished several more coins from his pocket and placed them on the table, tip included. He began to make his way towards the rooms, when he suddenly remembered something and turned back to face the group of people at the bar. "By the way, has anyone heard recent news of the HoH? I've been trying to keep myself informed as I travel, and I'm guessing this would be the best place to ask.."

In the corner of the bar someone was sipping their drink and watching some sort of newscast over some sort of handheld device. The jackass wasn't wearing headphones so it could be heard quite clearly. News ... Week two of the Saint Agrippina crisis rages on. For those just tuning in the overlook city has been completely overrun by strange creatures in a matter of days. Slow reaction time to the crisis is blamed on the Agrippina government who simply assumed this was somehow related to the recent zombie threat in Ymiristan. Regular zombie combat measures failed, and a full evacuation of the city began. Most citizens fled to West Fall City, or remained to undergo intense training as part of the Agrippina Defence Force. Stranger still, some chose to remain behind in the city and rumours are circulating that they are assisting the monsters that have taken over the city. The ADF recommends if you know someone who has remained in the city to cut off all contact with them. In a suprise event the Alpha through Epsilon Corporation pledged support to the ailing city. "The ADF has a noble goal of containing and eventually eliminating this strange new occurrence," A representative from the company told Gaia 9 Action News, "And if the threat is not contained, it could very well spread and endanger much more. Alpha through Epsilon has a duty to our employees and customers to maintain their safety." The company had a laboratory in the city and has now pledged medical, construction and combat technology. Now in lighter news...

Paul cocks an eyebrow and gives Zetsumei a look.
Paul: "'HoH'? Never heard of it."
He gives his empty glass a wan look before he catches the news report from some person who mysteriously appeared in the corner...
Paul: Zombies? What the heck is a zombie? ...whatever they are, they must not be good.

Upon hearing the news, he looks to Zetsu. "Well Zetsu, it seems like we'll be having work soon. Alpha through Epsilon can't hope to retake the bloody city without any Mercenaries. What do you think about fight zombies? Or mutants? Or zombie mutants as the case may be. Although the undead are damn hard to kill if they still control limbs after they are dismembered." He starts to walk towards Zetsu picking up his trench coat along the way. Feelling it he asks, "Do the rooms have sinks? Or is there a well I can use to wring the water out of my clothing?"
