T'thia watched the blue and the rider take off. she sat with Arizath for several hours in the sun until he was ready to dispell of ashes again into the pit. once his stomach was emptied he began to hum for the hatching. T'thia jumped to his back and they took off to watch the memorable moment of new life in the wyre.

Ray claimed the flagon of terrible wine that she'd been saving, and retired to a fairly central table. Somewhat more subdued than usual, Isskio was draped around her shoulders, hiding partly in her hair.
Wrath was already in the feeding grounds, tearing a hapless creature to bloody bits. Despite the snacks she'd been brought, and occasional breaks to assist in the Weyrling lessons, the queen felt she'd not had a satisfying meal in ages. Her next plan was a bath, then a nap in the sunshine.
Ray wistfully wished she could join the dragon in swimming and napping, but she had a social obligation to accept congratulations from various people. She sipped her vinegary wine, which burned its fumey way down her throat, and wondered again what would happen if she got really drunk. It hadn't happened yet... but she was sure it'd happen someday.

((continuing from the hatching grounds))
T'thia lead the parade of new wyrelings across the wyrebowl to the wyreling barracks and stood before the two caves
"boys go that way"
she gestured to the boys wyreling barracks
"find an open cot and rock bed and have your dragon settle. do not go to the feast until you make sure your dragonet is comfertable and drifting into sleep"
she turned to the girls
"girls fallow me"
she entered the girls side and glanced at her own bed
"girls find an open cot and rock bed and settle your dragonets. congradulations to you all i'll see everyone at the feast"
with that T'thia left the barracks and headed towards the feast
"Arizath, i think when we graduate i want to apply for the wyreling master position what do you think?"
i think you'd be perfect for the position but talk to Wrath's first about it. i'll be sunning if you need me
"alright dear heart"
T'thia entered the feasting area and looked around for her wyreling master, she wanted to get her insite on the subject as soon as possible. finding the wyreling master seated at a table sipping her wine she took up a goblet of benden white and sat down with a smirk
"you know, you were drinking the same sour wine at my hatching feast"
she gave a chuckle and sipped her own sweet wine before brining up the subject she wished to discuss
"i wanted to speak with you about somthing, i was thinkng, when i graduate and become a full rider, if perhaps i could fill the position of wyreling master"
((benden doesn't seam to have a wyrewomen once again and i think Rayi should take the position i haven't seen bariardi around in forever but you are here more often so i thought you could be wyre women and i could take over the wyreling master duties))

Ray shrugs. "This is a different vintage," she comments at the wine question. "It's a bit more ... ah ..." she sips again. "Acidy. I've been saving it especially for the Hatching." She takes another small sip as T'thia continues talking, wondering where the conversation was going...
Then T'thia came to the point. "I wanted to speak with you about somthing, i was thinkng, when i graduate and become a full rider, if perhaps i could fill the position of wyreling master."
Ray makes a startled noise as she's swallowing her mouthful of vinegary wine, which then tries going up her nose. Coughing and sputtering, she wipes tears from her eyes and manages to gasp, "Did I hear that right?" She coughs again, then clears her throat awkwardly. "You want to be Weyrlingmaster?" Her brain, thankfully not too muddled yet by the wine, starts working, wondering what she would do if she didn't have the Weyrlingmaster duties. Probably go back to long hours of flying sweep with Wrath, or junior weyrwoman duties, handling pointless details that the Weyrleaders were too busy to deal with.
"Well, I don't know," she continues. "Usually the position goes to a rider who is already fairly experienced. You're still pretty young for the job." She pauses a moment, thinking. "I could probably use an assistant though, to help supervise the Weyrlings. You've already shown that you can handle them fairly well, and you're a bit closer to their social level, so they'd probably take friendly advice better than they would from me. I think it'd work."

::Myyth stumbled intothe dineing Hall and took a quick look around. ::
I guess I'm the first one here.
::Rubbing her neck as she sat down Myyth tried to come to terms with the day. "I'm a dragon rider now. I immpressed. No one back home would ever believe me...." She continued to rub her neck in attempt to relieve the muscles strained by Spirith, her dragonette. The walk to her room had been interesting, to say the least......
Part way there the tiny dragon, half asleep and stuffed to the brim, had come more fully to her senses. She'd declared the she wanted to see better and proceed to attempt to climb onto Myyth's shoulders. "Thank Pern that she's so small" had been Myyth first thought. The second consisted of "Oww my neck".
The dragon had remained, lower half on her shoulders and the upper half on her head, all the way to the weyrling quarters. Myyth was happy when she'd bearly put her dragon down before Spirith stared to whisle through her nose. "Well I guess there is good with the bad" She thought, looking at the other weyrlings, who were having varying degrees of trouble with their dragons.
With a yawn Myyth sat down in the hall and picked out a few things to eat from the table. Everything looked good, but she was tired and not very hungery right then::

Niko smiles happily as she follows T'thia into the girl's dragonet's rooms, an arm draped across Gyomanth's neck ridge. I'm never gonna get used to this.... She thinks slowly, in awe while looking around and quickly selecting a rock bed in a cool corner.
Why wouldn't you get used to it, rider-mine? Gyomanth's voice tones in her head.
Niko smiles at the hatchling, having forgotten in the speed of the Hatching that she could talk mind-to-mind with the hatchling for a moment. Because it's all so different then at Ruatha! So big, and exciting...! She smiles and laughs softly, helping Gyomanth settle in before tossing him a wide, white smile and a wave, and then running into the area where the feast was being, keeping up her conversation with him in her head. As she runs into the dining hall, she looks all around, looking for maybe another candidate or another dragon rider that she might recognize.

At the back of the group of new weyrlings, R'nek trails after T'thia. He follows the other boys into the weyrling barracks, quickly settling himself on a couch near the entrance. Famyroth follows, the stuffed brown curling himself around into a tight ball and going to sleep almost immediately.
R'nek runs one hand along the length of the dragon's smooth hide, closing his eyes. He didn't want to leave Famyroth so soon, but he knew he had to make an appearance at the feast. They'd be expecting to see all the candidates. Besides, he was a bit peckish. Maybe he should oil...? No. He'd oil Famyroth as soon as he woke up. It couldn't be too hard, besides, the dragon was tired now, and didn't really need it. He was still smooth from the egg-fluid.
R'nek sighed. He was out of excuses. Still in his candidate robes, he left the weyrling barracks, fighting the urge to look back, to hide in a corner, to run away into the hills beyond the Weyr. She shook his head and planted his feet, turning decidedly towards the hall. Quickly, he walked in and to a relatively shadowed corner. Seating himself on a short stone bench, he watched the proceedings from where he sat apart.

Isskio stirs herself from Ray's shoulders, slinking down onto the table, then taking off to cruise the feast. The flit found herself somewhat at loose ends, bored with her routine, but not having a concept of a more interesting life. Not that her life was boring--but just lately, things had been ... well ... routine. Even though it was special that HER Wrath's clutch had hatched, now they were hatched and it was done with.
It was fun, back when they all had played fetch at the lake. Maybe she should find someone who would play fetch with her. Ray was busy, she had that mindset on that meant "Ick, I hate being social but gaah, it's expected of me!" and although Isskio knew the human would adore the chance to get away from it all for a good game, that whole "duty" role she had on would make her feel bad. It wasn't good when Ray felt bad, so Isskio didn't want to trouble her.
There was a sparkly rock on the ground. Adjusting her flight, she flew until she was almost directly overhead, then swooped down on it, nabbing the sparkly rock neatly as she zoomed low over the ground.
She had the sparkly rock. Now it was time to find someone to throw it for her!

T'thia beamed at the wyreling masters offer of assistant. she gave a nod
"i'd be honored"
she raised her goblet to make a toast to Rayi
"to.....aprenticship"
she held her glass up fully for the toast before downing the contents of the drink and begining to feel the effects of the wine as her head became fuzzy and she began to feel verry laughy

When Preyasith had been settled on a couch in the boy's Weyrling barracks, K'vat wandered twords the feast being held.
Beriadi entered the lower caverns and thread her way over to Ray with a smile on her face. "congradualtions Rayinte! A fine bunch of hatchlings," she bowed to the other woman, "Like we would expect anything less from Wrath."

Ray grins at the Weyrwoman and performs a passable 'seated bow.' "Thank you, Beriadi. I was hoping for another bronze, but I am glad to see more of the smaller ones." She nudges T'thia, "And the browns we ended up with are lovely, wouldn't you say?" She sighs dreamily.

"What's this about Browns?" Kya joins the group of girls, holding a mug of klah. The headache after the last Hatching feast he'd attended was not going to happen again!
