Here's another one....
Lost, Within
You look at me,
And you see,
My face, with a smile,
Corners of my mouth turned up.
You see,
My hands, so small
Push back locks of fluffy hair,
Tiny fingers interwoven.
You see,
My tired body,
Standing erect, waiting
Arms twisting, turning, reaching.
Manufactured beauty, painted on my face.
Lips moving elegantly.
Hidden scars, ever so slight.
This Is Where I Smile.
But underneath it all,
I fly, fluttering wildly.
Lost, in my own demise
I run constantly-
From myself,
From my past.
The scars are getting deeper
And harder to hide.
I know I'll have to tell you the truth-
Some Day.
Deep within, I cry
"I've lost too many things to ever go back
to where I used to be"
And you see
My troubled eyes dim.
This Is Where I Frown.

I don't have your older work to compare it to, but I don't see how you could have lost your touch with poems like that. ^_^ I took a long break from poetry as well. I'm just getting back into it in the past year.

As I gaze,
Into your eyes.
I see your soul,
And hear your lies.
You say you love me,
But that cant be true.
You show me otherwise,
With the things you do.
You say you will be with me,
Til death takes us away.
Then Im alone,
As I cry and pray.
I ask the lord,
what is wrong with me.
Why am I not,
What he wants me to be.
I have cried all the tears,
There are no more to cry.
Now tell me what you see,
When you look in my eye.
There is anger,
And there is dispair.
Because I feel
That its so unfair.
I have been everything.
Went beyond and above.
And all I wanted.
Was some of your love.
If Im not enough,
To keep you here.
Then leave now,
So I will no longer fear.
The end has come.
I will not cry or yell.
I no longer live,
In this place called hell. Just sat here and thought this up, spur of the moment...not the greatest..but, im gonna leave it

K I haven't written or posted anything of mine in here for a while.. but today I got a creative bug and since I finally got something decent written I thought I'd share.. though unfortunately I can't put down the tune in my head that these lyrics go to I hope the lyrics will stand up on there own.
