Artemus chuckled slightly.
"Best to get rid of bad habits young Procyon, just think of how often you'll want to taste soap."
Artemus nodded slightly.
"The woman that took me in after was very kind though, she's the one that taught me how to read." He smiled sadly.
"The town didn't like the fact that she took me in though," he murmured. He could almost feel tears in his throat. He blinked away some tears, he hadn't reacted like this the last time he mentionned her...

"Oh but if you keep a mouth liek that you will kid... if you do... I hope you like to see bubbles pop from out your mouth" he said, though it wasn't true that happened but the kid didn;t know.
Looking back at Artemus, he saw the tears and wipped them away with a hand, kissing his cheek after. "Sshh... hun its okay... she loved you so much that she risked what the town thought.... that is real motherly love there.... you are very lucky to have had someone like her in your life.."

Procyon kept his mouth shut, not wanting to get in anymore trouble. No soap! No clothes! Nonononono!
Crelye blinked, finally keeping his comments to himself. When he saw Artemus start to cry, he whimpered. "Artemus...?" he asked, wriggling away from Youko and creeped over to his friend.

Artemus smiled weakly at Desmond and buried his face into his chest.
"She was the only one that was nice to me before Yuki," he murmured. He didn't even manage to live a year in that house before she was murdered... things went downhill before they got better then.
Artemus turned around slightly and attempted a smile to reassure Crelye.
"I'm okay," he murmured. "Just memories."

Desmond sighed softly and rubbed th eothers back, trying to sooth him as best as he could, to drive away the poor memories. "Shh.. I know... but now things are so much better.. you've got Yuki.. friends... me.." He said softly.
" Crelye don't worry kiddo he's okay...."He smiled reasuringly.

Artemus nodded.
"My parents left me alone in the street when I was little, and I was remembering a woman that took care of me..." he trailed off. How could he explain it to Crelye?
"She disappeared one day."
Artemus felt better as Desmond comforted him.
"Yes, but I think it would be a better world if children didn't have to go through that," he murmured.

desmond was siletn as he explained soemwhat to the child what he was upset a bout, letting him do it. He wouldn't be able to find the right words for what th eother had goen through, knowign it had to have been very terrible.
"I know..." He said softly, kissing his neck then ears softly.

His ears drooped as his tail sagged. That was so sad! "Why?" he asked simply. Why had his parents abandoned him? Why had that woman disappeared? WHY in general to the whole situation. But he scooted closer, pouting a little. Though to what he was pouting about, even the child didn't know.

Artemus smiled sadly.
"I don't know, I think that they weren't prepared for me to be a hybrid." He remembered his sister being completely human, but he didn't remember enough of his parents to know if he was with his biological parents at first or not.
"Why is always the hardest question to answer," he continued.
Artemus held onto Desmond a little longer, feeling safe, but he felt that he would also need to talk to Crelye more. He let go of Desmond and knelt down slightly so that he was closer to Crelye.

Desmond let the other go when he so asked for it wihout words and stepped back. He however staied close enough so that if the other needed him he was within close reach. This seemed like soemthing he had to get off his chest and explain to another fully.

Crelye came closer to Artemus as he knelt down. Hugging his leg, the child looked up at him. "I'm sorry..."

Artemus looked back at Desmond and smiled slightly, before he knelt down carefully so that he was on eye level with Crelye.
"You didn't do anything wrong," he said quietly. Some times he did wish that he could remember his parents better so that he could ask them why they did what they did.
"Maybe my parents do anything wrong either." He ruffled Crelye's hair.
"And maybe because I didn't have the best childhood, I'll be a good second parent to you." He grinned and looked up at Desmond.
He reddened slightly and added quietly,
"Maybe to any children I have too."

Returning the smile, he watched and listened t o what the fox said to the little boy. He nodded when he said he'd be a good second parent to Crelye, totally agreeing with that statement. Then his face turned a brillaint shade of pinkish red at his last comment, an almsot silly grin on hsi face.
" You'd... be a wonderful parent to any child you have Artemus...." he said softly, hoping they could one day get to t hat level. He could wait however long it took for them to get to that...

Crelye wasn't sure, but he nodded and smiled a little. "You better be good to me! Or Mommy's gonna be maaaaaaadd!" he said, his smile growing. "But I know you'll be good, because you're always nice to me!"
