((... maybe. I kind of wanted to stay away from pirates, but there will definitely be something for you to guard us from. Trust me! Oh! Everyone, if you haven't yet, go look at the front page! I made a MAP!))

Rhiannon exited her room into a dimly lit hallway. The sun would set soon, and no light ever really got into the lower extremeties of the ship. It didn't bother her though - she liked the mood it set. She had relaxed a little since the meeting - spending most of the afternoon tucked away in her room. Blessedly, she recieved private quarters, one of the perks to being important on the ship. She hadn't changed, only put on a long coat over top to protect from the cooling air of night. The axes still hung cautiously by her sides. She didn't think she'd take them off for a while.

Crossing her arms over her chest, she strode down the hall even as she heard the supper bell clang to life. Her stomach growled in immediately reply - she was hungry. Frowning, she decided to take in a little food, even though she felt rather sick. Not from the gentle sway of the boat - and it was indeed gentle - but probably from the stress and responsibility of the day. It hadn't even been more than twelve hours from their departure and she already felt the weight of their mission.

At the end of the hall she pushed through a large door - which opened without a single creak - and stepped into a large eating area. The Galley. A huge cauldron of soup stood rather ominously, waiting for the hungry sailors to approach. And they did - quickly. The room was made to sit about two hundred men, and she guessed that most of the seats would be taken within minutes. She took her place in line, certain that she would not get much food down tonight.

((EDIT: I just took out the last paragraph... it was all screwed up anyways... -_- ignore.))

((AAHHHH!!! I can't believe it! We've barely just begun! Sweet! Too many roleplays I know just die after a while. With a map like this, we should still be going two years from now! Wooo-hoooooo!!!!!

Please note that if you do get a sea serpent to attack us, Tanyeera's going to be just a little hesitant about attacking it. Kin, you see. This is especially if we sail into its territory so technically, it'd be in the right.))

[Oops, I forgot Gesten's last post...oh well, I'll be sure to add it into this one. Great map!]

Luft looks over to one of the decks, having saw someone move out of the corner of her eye. It was only the Patroness and so the griffin relaxed a bit. With the dragon working the sky above, she feels her appetite working on her. Craning her beaked head over the ship's railing, Luft can see a group of at least eight adult seals. Slowly moving her head back towards her feathered body, she clucks softly in the eagerness for fresh meat. No gryphon would be able to survive off of fish, unless it were some sort of hybrid gryphon. Gryphons are entirely carnivorous and only eat red meat, preferably freshly killed. Stepping backwards until her tail feathers brushed against the other side of the rail, Luft turns and silently lifts herself into the air. She lets her body drop by freezing her wings, opening them to catch a breeze and stay drifting above the water. Doing a half circle around the Seraphim, the gray griffin can hear her prey more closely. Now at the front of the moving ship, she is careful that she does not get hit by the ship and so turns sharply, front talons spread. A fat seal's back and side are gouged by her talons. With a pleased trill, Luft latches her hind talons on the seal's tail and flies up a bit higher, turning and flying behind the ship to eat as she flies.

The hertasi hissed softly as he looked at the long line behind himself, managing to spook a few human males nearby. Once with his bowl of stew does Gesten go and sit at the edge of a table. He is surprised when a few other deckhands join him, but it pleases him as well. His clawed hands are able to use eating utensils and he heartily spoons a mouthful into his jaws. The men around him seem only a bit tired and sport cheery smiles. One of them pauses from his own meal to address Gesten.
"Erm...you have a spider in your bowl, sirrah."
His inner lids fold over his eyeballs as he glances down casually and spots a rather fat spider, vainly trying to climb up the wall of his stew bowl. As the sailors watch curiously, Gesten lowers his spoon and catches the spider with some broth and chopped vegetables. Opening his jagged mouth, he gulps it down without so much as a grimace, or a wince. Looking to the nearly astonished men, the hertasi curves his scaled lips to reveal his many fangs.
"Extra protein and energy."
The small group chuckle, smiling again and continuing their meal with the lizardman.

As Tanyeera circled above the ship, she saw the griffin pick up a seal without much difficulty. She smiled as she watched her enjoy her meal. She really deserved it being such a dedicated sentry. Unlike her.

Her thought darkened as she thought once more of her mission. She understood it had to be done and she was the best to do it, still, she regretted the necessity of deceit.

"Its not really deceit." she tried convincing herself. "You'll still guard the ship and its inhabitants. That is the key role of a sentry after all and you wil be fulfilling it."

But she knew her loyalty was first and foremost to her clan and to the inhabitants of Peregre. If any people aboard the ship tried to harm them in pursuit of their silly trinkets of gold and gems....

So, she'd only protect them if they were not in the wrong and did not step out of line. If that was the best she could manage, that would have to do.

She pumped her wings vigorously to soar higher and higher till she sensed the air start to get thin. Then, folding her wings to her sides, she plummeted down, faster and faster till tears blurred her eyes and she saw the Seraphim only by its little lights.

At the last moment before she slammed headfirst against the silky water, she snapped her wings out and skimmed its very surface, trailing mini-waterfalls as the ocean just brushed her underbelly scales.

It was her favourite game and its thrill served to lighten her mood a little, enough for her to resume her patrol over the ship with no more disquieting thoughts.

((hehe! Two years... I'd like to see that happen, eh? I guess I didn't realize how long the trip would actually be when I started! I wonder if we'll actually get close, hmmm? With all the things I have planned while they're on the ship, who knows? And thanks about the map. =] ))

Thank the gods for long coats. Rhiannon could feel some of the deckhands staring at her, some chuckling and whispering. From that moment on, she seriously considered having her food delivered to her room, to avoid this wonderful experience. And they all smelled dreadful. Though she could hardly blame them, she was glad that they had makeshift showers on the ship. Magic and mechanics worked together to provide some semblance of hot water, and small rooms that drained into the sea. It was truly a wonderful thing to have a ship so magically enforced - it made life at sea so much easier, and cleaner.

As soon as the soup was ladled into her bowl, she intended to get out of there and go back to her room. She held her head high, not making eye contact with anyone, and walked through the table towards the door. This was the last thing she wanted to do, sitting with a bunch of smelly men... but even as she thought that she realized that there were many women on board as well. Most of the crew were men, yes, but there were plenty of women who could hold their own at sea. This made her a little more comfortable, and she spied a table with a few of her common gender.

Maybe I could stay... besides, I should be interacting with the crew shouldn't I? The Captain seemed to do it just fine, I might as well give it a try. she reasoned to herself and gingerly took a seat at the end of a bench. Her cheeks went slightly red as the conversation paused and the ladies stared at her. They knew who she was, and knew that the daughter of the Harbormaster must be a stuck-up brat of a girl. Hmph. She gave them a weak smile and tried to eat.

There was another problem... a Hertasi was sitting at the table beside her's, and ate a spider from his soup. Her stomach did a little turn and she pushed it away, but not before she realized she'd been staring with a look of disbelief and disgust.

"Good soup, isn't it?" she said weakly to one of the women beside her. She got no reply.

"Rhiannon?" Rosette tated, slightly surprised to see such a seemingly high-class women eating here with the rest of the crew.

"Good on, you! You're not as bad as I heard!" Rosette added, slipping into the eat across from her. Chrono was still trying to find something lighter to eat for himself, his stomach wasn't doing so well for him this evening, and then he had to be on deck later to be sure they were headed in the right direction. No, this was a bad for him in many ways.

"Er... no thank you, I'll... just find myself a piece of fruit or something on my own. Thank you very muh, though."

"Whatever." Was the respone.

He glanced back to see Roette, and was even more surprised than she had been to see Rhiannon itting at the table amongst several crewmembers. Like her, this was one of the last things he expected to happen.

Oh, how embarassing. Atleast, that's how it seemed to Rhiannon when the girl sat across from her and said what she did. Not as bad as she had heard? What the hell did that mean? Rhiannon immediately took the defensive and sat up straighter, trying to ignore the surprise in Rosette's face.

"No, I suppose I'm not." she said in a tone that was all confidence. "Though I don't know what you've heard, I enjoy interacting the crew members."

It was a lie, wasn't it? She hated it. She hated talking to these people who looked at her as if she was some kind of halfbreed; hated feeling them stare at her and whisper behind her back; and above all, she hated her father for it.
But none of this was evident in her eyes or face or manner. She would play the part of a caring hostess of sorts, and then she would get out of there. She looked at her spoon, and eventually brought a bit of soup to her mouth - which she sipped quietly.

"What was your name again? I'm afraid I'm not so good with faces..." and not so good with small talk, either. she thought bitterly to herself.

Heh, don't let it bug ya'." Rosette assured her. "I've never really been one to spread that kinda crap anyway. You do seem like you don't like bein' here too much."

She held her arms up and stretched a bit before continuing.

"Name's Rosette, by the way. I not so good with names either, but Chrono did make a quip about yours and some goddess, so it sticks."

His stomach growlef loudly in protest when he heard the dinner bell ring. He sighed heavily as he thought of what he could get for food and where hecould get. The kitchen you idiot. He thought before standing up and walking towards the kitchen. Before entering the kitchen, he peered inside to see if anyone was inside. Seeing nobody, he quietly went inside and had a quick look around. Grabbing a few stuff he quickly left the kitchen and headed back to the place where he was before. Getting there, he sat down and began to eat the food he had taken. Some bread, apples, and other stuff. He ate slowly as he thought of the various things he could do in order to stop the ship.

Tanyeera wheeled in the air above the ship and reflected that sentry duty was really very boring.

[Consider this my compensation for not posting for like 3 pages. xP As a warning, my post is a little sexy. Like a Harlequin novel *Gags* Oy, but....if it is not all right for Sid to have the Mary Poppins's like bag just let me know. It does have its limits, I assure you, but can prove for excitement and possibilities down the road. Maybe. >D And yes, that map kicks a**. Dude. x3]

The only thing she had done to personalize her quarters thus far was to place rust-colored curtains around her bedside. Since she had claimed a bottom bunk, the fabric walls created a reflection of the privacy she so craved and would at least secure the place in which she slept. Otherwise, even, nothing of hers was currently in the room. Not her cloak, not her bag, or even Siduri herself. Her afternoon was mostly spent cautiously exploring the ship; making sure to stay out of everyone's way while trying to familiarize herself with the vessel to an extent. She had never sailed before, and The Seraphim itself was a marvel among greatness. The gypsy was amazed at how gently the waves rocked to and fro in synchronization with the ship....a part of the magic she was expected to maintain. She knew this responsibility, and of the others, but for the start of it she allowed herself to remain amazed. Venturing so freely about the decks got herself noticed, as well. It was not long before deckhand to deckhand murmured devilishly amongst themselves that a young lady looked available, and by her dress in the business of entertainment. She should have not then been surprised when a group of five approached her with a proposition, for the pleasure of a private casting-off affair at the rate of a handsome fee. Siduri accepted them with a long smile, letting her dark eyes flicker at the unexpected surprise of a coin or two to be made so quickly. And a coin or two they might find themselves losing unexpectedly too if she could play them right. Well, well. An appointment was set, and she had to prepare for it....

She was lucky to catch the room at a time when her bunkmates did not inhabit it. For the special leisures her kind was apt to present involved nothing less than perfect beauty, and such a feat would require a sufficient amount of glamour. When the lengthy sleeves and skirts were removed from her hidden person, a number of unbeautiful things could be found upon her skin that no man would want to see dancing in his direction. Her cosmetic face and aristocratic hands and feet were usually enough to keep males sustained without magic- but separate encounters demanded a flawless body. No one could have known exactly what it was she did to make ready behind her closed door, but once she emerged she was wrapped by her orange sundance and making haste to the engagement with the maple handles of her bag secured in a flailing fist. A glamour did not last long, and she could not waste it.

The men were chattering and rough-housing with each other as Siduri stepped into their quarters, bringing with her shut of the door a dawning silence. The room was smaller than her own, and as she had asked they had pushed beds and trunks aside to make room for her to perform. Eyeing them each in consideration while still under her cloak, she gave a raspy whisper.

"Do any of you sirs know how to play the fiddle?"

Looking befuddled to each other, they scratched their heads and said no. They didn't even have one. With a slight sigh, the gypsy went to her bag. She muttered under her breath.

"....I suppose I will have to do everything myself, then."

As she leaned over to reach inside her parcel, one of the fellows whistled. Even while so wrapped, her figure was still apparent and curvy. She paid the catcall no heed as a lovely violin came out of packing along with its bow. If any of the men could see, they could tell that this was the first mystical feat of hers. The bag from which she had pulled the instrument, the one which was the single item she had catered with her on the voyage, did not have the outward appearance of being able to hold it. The bag was very much enchanted, and older than Siduri and several generations preceding her. Though it bore a humble design, the energy around it alone could be felt by any sensitive's senses and cause him to shirk in his boots. The bag's magic? It was truly bottomless, holding an endless possibility of storage where no object dropped within would make a sound and mystery surrounding what, in its entirety, was its contents. Such an artifact could only come from a Romany bloodline, and now it was in Siduri's possession. She was experienced enough in using it to know how to pull things out- and where to put them inside. But as candles floated out and up, spontaneously igniting themselves and circling around the room the patrons knew that this would be far beyond any ordinary show. This seductress was also a skilled mage, and would treat them with bells and whistles as she saw fit. And speaking of music, the fiddle now began to hover and play itself....slow at first, to allow Siduri her dramatic entrance.

Off now with the cloak, it cascading to the floor to reveal a sight to cause the men's eyes to light with the very wonder of Peregre. Before them stood an exotic belly dancer: with a top as cut and revealing as the pants were airy and very close on the hips. Her outfit sparkled with accents from a belly chain and other jewels, and her lusty eyes were the most terrible gems of all. Siduri's flesh was of radiance....her body as it began to move and sway matched the immortals, and nothing in the moment could be thought of lovelier than she in all of Creation. The fiddle's pace quickened, as well as her advancing steps towards the crewmen whom drooled and gawked on the edge of their seats. Tiny cymbals were clasped between her fingertips and she struck them rhythmically, in-between her teases of stroking the men's faces in long, wordless embraces. Her waist would thrust in one direction, her hair flash by some person's beard, and she was their sole enthrallment....nothing for the three dances she performed had their attention but her. But it had to end. At the long draw of a final note from her playerless fiddle, the magic ceased as the candles extinguished and flew back to their case with the instrument following after it was done. Siduri instantly drew up her cloak again about her, she would not be able to keep the up glamour much longer and was eager to leave before it was completely faded. With the use of so much magic she was weakened....but would be richer for it. She courteously extended her hand for her coins after a slight bow and retrieval of her special bag, not at all phased by the looks of bedazzlement and longing still left upon the men's demeanors. Her work was done and she wanted reprieve, to her this had all been business. To snap them from the dream of her, she brought up a soft reminder.

"Gentlemen? I believe the dinner bell resounded sometime ago. Why not reflected upon my merry show with a hearty meal....but for now I must make my leave. If you guarantee such a grand price as promised this occasion, I can surely grace your whims again...."

A coy little wink emerged from her slightly visible face in the hood's folds, to which the men instantly stood and recollected themselves. Yes, of course. The food, the food....Paying her a generous tip as each exited, she smirked as unknowingly each had given her a little extra in addition. The price they paid for being so near to her, but a tricky hand was a wonderful thing for a gypsy.
As she began to trudge back to her room in fatigue, she was halted as a rough hand grabbed her wrist. Turning sharply around, Siduri found herself face-to-face with one of her audience members. The look on his face implied everything he was going to ask her for, and her features went grim as he spoke the filthy request.

"Hows about you give me a more private show than that with my fellas, where I can pay ya real great for....a greater pleasure?"

His teeth gave a grin as twisted as the look of want in his eyes. She pulled her hand forcefully from him, beginning to step away.

"Sirrah, that is not what I do. It is a gypsy's place to entertain by looking without touching, and for what you desire, you will have to wait for shore leave. I only meant to make you feel more comfortable about being upon this ship, and nothing more. I will not give you what you want."

The man's face began to sneer, unpleased with this response.

"Nonsense. Don't doubt that I can pay ya real good....a woman such as you can be bought eventually, I know. 'Gypsy' woman....I know your 'kind' well. Come now...."

He sarcastically emphasized what she was claiming to be, never having known a white gypsy before and believing that she could be a mockery of them. But she was right for the purpose he craved. He advanced on her again, aggressively, and now Siduri had to physically struggle against him. Her strength was depleted with her act, and this mongrel surely could not win. What could she do? It coming quickly, she executed the only plan she could think of. She thrust apart the handles of her bag to have the dark abyss of its pit open wide enough for her to bring the case above his head and then straight down. Just like that, the purse had nonchalantly swallowed up the man and erased him from existence. It was like he was never even there, and in the hallway now only stood a tired young lady with her small purse. She closed the handles with a snicker and was quite pleased with herself. The parcel remained lightweight as she headed back to her bed, like it always had no matter what was inside. From a fiddle to candles to wardrobe and prisoners, even....and a happy jingling of coins at her side. Siduri's life was certainly going to be interesting from this point forward.

((Ack! gonk I still don't have time to make a normal sized post. Oh, and does Zara have or own room? Or does she need to go find out who shes staying with.))

Zara muttered inaudibly as she rubbed her eyes sleepily. She had been sitting in a little used corner of the deck, taking a much needed nap when she suddenly found herself awake. She sighed and began to lift herself up slowly.

The light provided by the sun was beginning to fade and lamps were just being lit as she tried to clear her mind of sleep. It occured to her that she wasn't very hungry, and other then some of the deckhands, everyone else was proabably eating dinner.

She scanned the sky and saw a shape whirling in the sky. She assumed it was either the Gryphon or the Dragon but she couldnt be sure which in the dim light. Sighing again, she made her way towards the direction she figured the eating hall was. She figured it couldnt hurt her to eat something, even if she really didnt feel like it. She took a deep breath and walked into the crowded, noisy room.

Rhiannon nodded distractedly.

"Right, Rosette. You're one of our Mages. I was meaning to speak to you about something. It seems that one of the spells has crumbled on the main mast - it was just getting too old I suppose - and we need someone to renew it. I believe it was a simple one, it shouldn't be difficult for you." she finished, lifting a brow towards her young official. Strange that so many of the most important people on the ship were so young. But then again, she herself was only 24. She let her eyes wander, seeing Zara enter the room. She still hadn't talked with the First Mate, but she would have to eventually. Maybe now would be a good time.

((Zara is the first mate, so yes she'll have her own room. It's still down near all the other crew's rooms, but it's yours. Everyone else who doesn't have a room yet, go ahead and just pretend you have a room, maybe with some other deckhands or something. -shrug- There are plenty of guys and girls here on the ship. =] Oh, and I like Sid's bag, please keep it! And yes, Tanyeera, I read that. Be patient. =P ))

(Ummm.... Immortal, he snuck into the kitchen and went back to where he was before. So unless you can see into the kitchen, you wouldn't have been able to see him.)
