Vickster2k10 ((Are we allowed to attempt a pass in advance? I'd still like to hang around the Academy a bit and get a feel for this d20 system but.. was just wondering.)) You can hang around here as long as you'd like. People who've passed and started in roleplaying still come in here and ask questions.
What do you mean pass in advance, sweetie?

What do you mean pass in advance, sweetie?What I mean, is post a paragraph here, and if we receive a pass, great, though I would still likely be in the academy (getting a feel for things) until I got to know my way around. For time, pretty much, though come to think of it, I guess this wouldn't sserve much of a purpose. Nevermind. ^^;

ivory_vamp Nightzblade ivory_vamp Nightzblade My charcters name is Hiro Kiator Hiro had dropped to his knees after hours of training, He had been up since dawn. He had just finished his Taijutsu exercise and was exhausted. Hiro looked up as he flung his hair back swing the bead's of sweat that glistened in the falling sun. Hiro rolled over and took one of his gloves off. "Not again. That is the fourth pair this week. I cant keep ripping my gloves. Sensai is going to kill me." Hiro rose slowly as he took of his gloves. He looked to the horizon as he wipped the sweat from his brow. "One more week before the exams. This time I will be ready." Pass, love! Good dialouge and character. Try to use some beginning sentence variations, so the actions are more captivating and interesting to read. This might sound like a dumb question but what do you mean by beginning sentence variations? ninja Yea I knew I shouldn't have said that. >_> I was the literature teacher's pet. I mean give a variety with the first word in the sentence. You don't HAVE to, its just a helpful hint, because you have such good character that I don't want it to go to waste.
[Pretend I'm a crazily obsessed grammar teacher that speaks overly passaionately about words. >_> Well, you don't really need to pretend.] its perfectly fine. I am not a strong writer so any help is gladly taken.

---Gives nightblade candy!--- You're a star student! A+, A+, A+! I love people that like to improve! It lets you know they're not stupid. ^-^
@Vickster: Yes, I understand. Some of my students in Kusagakure thought if you passed your Role-player's Academy Test that you could start out as a genin in the village. >_> No, not true. And I'm not sure how it is in all the villages, but in Kusagakure the Academy there is pretty much like a learning ground to make sure everyone knows how to use the system properly.

ivory_vamp kogi_10 Cool.. So all I have to do is write a sample no prob! Okay! Here I go! My charaters name is Kogi (Something). SampleA door suddenly burst open and he comes walking in. "Okay then... So where am I?" He looks around and notices nobodies even there "What the..." He says and walks further in. Then suddenly the door slams shut behind him. He quickly turns back to the door and starts pounding on it "It won't open..." a voice from within the building says. A shiver runs down his back and he knew that there was something wrong here. You got it, but try not to abuse the word "He". Use your name at least once in your post so we know who you are. >_>So I passed?

ShinseiDrayga *Wonders what the point of providing an rp sample in the application to guild was* Oh well, I didn't really see anything amongst the rest of this forum I needed to post in other than here so here's my sample. SampleAnguna Mumyou, a young boy with ashen white hair and skin with red eyes, was reclining on top of a tree branch looking up into the sky through the branches of the tree, with one of his legs dangling off the side of the branch. A leaf slowly floated down from the tree and fell on his headband, "Guess it's time for me to go meet that employer," he sighed as he slowly straightened up, the leaf falling off his headband, "It was such a nice day too." With a slight poof Anguna vanished and reappeared on the ground below, "Time to go blow some stuff up," he said to himself while a wide smirk crossed his face. End SampleI do have one question about roleplaying here. Are one-liners acceptable if you're having a conversation with someone where long monologues really aren't necessary or a lot of action isn't necessary?
Thank you, Ivory! heart
One-liners are acceptable during the heat of battle or during conversations! But try not to overdo it.

-Sojobo walked out of the room for a breath of air. Standing outside he noticed the steam rising up from the ramen shop. He takes in a deep breath allowing the rich essence of the noodles enter his lungs. A hint of drool slowly falls from his mouth, and onto the ground. Sojobo's stomach began to rumble. "Eh, I think I will go get me some ramen."
Walking down the small pathway towards the ramen shop, Sojobo can see the younger kids playing with one another. Before the ramen shop there lay a blacksmith. Sojobo only walks by the small armory, the sound of a hammer pounding on the anvil only made him want to leave quicker. "Ah yes, finally" Sojobo makes it to the ramen shop, and enters. Looking around the shop he only notices the young couple sitting with each other across the shop. Walking over to the bench he extends his arm up into the air as if to acknowledge he was there. "One order of ramen, please."

Well here goes nothin:
Kuro woke to the blowing of a soft summer breeze. He felt a slight twing of pain...he looked down at his hands they were slightly red with blood from this mornings training. He looked up at the sky trying to tell what time it was...then with the rumbling of his stumach he guessed that it was around lunch...This was the only reason he needed to get up and head for the village's ramen shop...

Akira Rukouichi ruffled his hair and looked impatiently at the clock on the wall. He had been waiting for his sister Michiko for twenty minutes by now and still she had not appeared at the top of the stairs. "Michiko!" He called out, looking at the clock once again. When there was no answer he started up the stairs. "Michiko!!" A small reply came from a room two doors down from the stairs. It could barely be heard over the rock music blaring from the speakers. Akira reached the top of the stairs and made his way to a room two doors away from the stairs. He pushed open the door flinching when his sister's music became louder. "Oh for Kami's sake Michi. Turn down that music! Do you honestly need to have it so loud? If Okaa-san was home she would scold you."
Michi shrugged. "It doesn't really matter. Besides I'm almost ready to go."
Akira sighed, walking into the room and turning of Michi's cd player. "That's what you said twenty minutes ago and we still haven't left. Crecencio is waiting for us and you are making us late!"
"Okay okay! Geez Akira-neesan," She grabbed her purse off of her dresser and walked past Akira in a huff. "Let's go then. We're already late!"
Shaking his head, Akira watched his sister for a moment before he too left the room.
Okay so that was my sample. I used two characters that I had been roleplaying with before in a different guild. I hope this is okay.

Ebon strands of slightly damp hair hung limply infront of Michio's face. He was staring, rather intensley at a well worn log. It was dangling lifelessly off a rope in front of him, the only movement came from the impact of the barrage of kicks and punches he had recently sent its way. It was starting to draw closer to midnight, the high, bright moon lit up the tall grassed meadow like a lantern, even still, any sensable young man would be at home asleep by now. Michio's mind was restless though, and it certainlt had every reason to be.
He was seventeen years old, and though that was almost an adult by some standards, Michio fel very very young. He had recently been promoted to jounin, an honor any ninja should be quite proud of. But Michio was more worried than excited. Being a jounin meant recieving a team of genin to instruct. Sure, he had helped at the academy, teaching the students there, and as a chuunin he'd even been incharge of a mission or two... But this was much different. He'd be responsible for teaching ninja's not much younger than himself how to behave on the job, while they were handling missions. Could he really demand such authority?
Clearly his superiors thought he could, otherwise they wouldn't have promoted him. But Michio was a little unsure of himself. That was the entire reason why he'd come out so late to train... to convince himself otherwise.
Once again, his slender, lithe body lunged forward twords the target dummy. Agility and speed his greatest assets, he soared gracefully, flawlessly hitting the target several times without trouble. It was then that Michio's carefully tuned ear picked up on a most peculiar sound. Well, it wasn't really peculiar as it was beautiful and interesting. His mind wandered towards the voice of a bird singing its evening call, and before he could even turn his head to follow the direction of his eyes...
WHAM!
Michio found himself face planted into the grass. He quickly plucked himself up, looking back and forth as if someone might be watching... but of course there was no one. No one to see his embarrassing flounder. Perhaps he was just tired. Michio stilled the log from its swaying movement before gathering his things and heading back towards his home. His whole left side hurt and he was quite sure he'd be nursing a healthy bruise tomorrow.
Ah well, such is the life of a ninja.
