He retreated to the back of his lab for a moment, before returning with the Cyndaqui's Pokeball, and a handful of empty Pokeballs. Professor Elm nods with a smile, "Certainly, we haven't had any requests for Chikorita lately, I'm sure you'll make a great companion for this little one," he offered, holding out a Pokeball containing John's first Pokemon. "She can be a bit of a trouble-maker sometimes, but I'm sure you can handle her." "If you have any questions starting out, plese feel free to ask, I'd be happy to help," the kindly professor smiled with a nod. Ken walked into the lab and looked around. "Excuse me, Prof. Elm? Sir?" Ken looked around for him and sat down on a chair and looked out the window. "Sir, I would like to have a Cyndaquil for my first pokemon!" Ken shouted out the window when he saw the Prof. playing with some wild pokemon in the garden.

"But of course," Elm smiles kindly with a nod as he looked up from his research paper for a moment. Standing from his desk as he stretched, working out the kinks as he made his way to the back of the lab. Retrieving a Pokeball and a few items, he returned, handing them over to Ken with a nod. "Here is your Cyndaquil, as well as a Pokedex, which'll record your progress. And your Pokeballs, of course, can't forget those," Elm smiled. "I wish you luck on your journey!" he concluded with another grin. "I'll be looking forward to keeping track of your progress!" Event!

 Viva walked through the doors of the lab. "Hello Prof! How are you doing today?" he said cheerfully, "I just came in to get my first Pokemon. Could I get a Cyndaquil? A boy one please!"

Professor Elm nodded with a smile, "Of course. Cyndaquil seems to be a popular choice. I can see why," he laughed, before returning to the back of his lab for a moment, retrieving the requested Pokemon, as well as a Pokedex and several Pokeballs to start Viva out with. "Alright, here you are," he nodded, pressing the release on the Pokeball, as the orb flashed for a moment, releasing the Cyndaquil from within. The creature paused for a moment, looking up at Viva, before its back burst into flame, raring to go. "He's a lively one, but I'm sure he'll make a good partner," Elm smiled as he handed the items over to Viva. Event:
