I first saw him when I started reading the naruto manga and he was introduced. I thought, "Wow he looks cool. I like him." Back then he was my third favorite...after I learned about him he became my first.

then i said, "he looks really cool...so hot too!"
after i learned more about him and his past i fell in love with him more ^_^

I have to admit, my first impression of Gaara wasn't a good one, but then, it wasn't fair to him. At the time, I hated Naruto, so I didn't like anything to do with the show. I remember I first saw him in a promo for the episode where he fights Lee on CN, and at the very end they showed the shot of Gaara where his sand armor is in pieces and he has that crazed look in his eyes. I clearly recall thinking 'Ehhh, what the hell is wrong with that guy?Look at his face!'
It didn't help that my best friend wasn't fond of him at the time either. She really likes Lee, so she was mad at Gaara for a while. So, when I mentioned him, she didn't really have anything positive to say.
However, after listening to her talk about Naruto so many times, it sparked my curiosity and I decided to watched some Japanese episodes on YouTube. For some reason, Gaara captured my attention, even though my first impression of him was rather negative, so I started watching episodes that revolved around him. Of course, it was the sad past episode with the adorable little Gaara that got me hooked, even my friend couldn't stay mad at him after watching that one. As I learned more about him, I grew to liking him more, until he became my favorite character on the show. Plus, I have a thing for characters like Gaara, considering my other favorites, so it didn't come as a surprise to anyone.
Ever since, I have been a devoted Gaara fan, and now I love it when he gets that look on his face. ^^

I first saw him in my friends manga #4,where he first appears.I saw his pic when he's upside-down on the tree and I like like eek ................wow.......

I thought he was a freak. I mean, come on now. The first time I saw him I was... gonk stare . But now after the Chuunin exams, during the time skips, he looked so hot. Even more since he's kazekage in Shippuden. His younger self is sooooooo adorable.
