The flame at the Gold's side instantly took on a friendly hue, lighting a broader path.
*As you say, Lord Vampire. You are a better hunter of the Beast then I, here I must trust in your guidence. Do you have a plan? And what of you, little warrior? You have been surprisingly quiet this whole time.*

(At work....stupid real world!)
Terk looked calmly at the dragon she rode on. Normally, she would have flown on her own, but she knew she would not have been able to keep up with the ancient dragon. "I am here."
Terk nodded. Looking over at Darkfire, she looked back to the gold. "I do not have a plan. I may be strong, but I will not be able to fight him. I know that right now. But I will be at your side, Master Sigilos; if for nothing more than support."
Terk felt Sigilos tense for a brief second at the call of "master." She knew he had asked her not to call him that, but she was barely a hatchling to him and she knew when to show respect. If anything, her father had taught her that.

*You are too unsure of yourself, Little Warrior. You have more stregth then you know.*
The Gold spoke over sholder, his thundering voice carrying easily too Terk's ears.
*Tell me, little one, what do you know of your past? And what of your lineage?*

Terk looked int othe gold eyes of the large draon she rode on. "My past is simple. I am the only surviving daughter of an Elder and a dissapointment to him. His goal for my life was to breed, but I choose to fight. I mated with a White Dragon, somethign that's never been done before. He was killed by an arrow dipped in the poision blood of a Spirit Dagon.
"As for my lineage. My father is the son of one of the original Shadow Dagons. I was from his last clutch of eggs and the only one to hatch. I come from the dragons who can bend the shadows to their will, unlike other Shadow Dragons. My blood is pure, but my size is small like all of the Original Shadow Dragons. I am still young and will not get much bigger. I will be of no use in fighting something that is as old as my father."

The Gold looked at her in amusment, his eyes turning from gold to a forest green, reflecting his mood.
*You know so little. I was expecting your father to know better. It seems he did not change that much after all.*

"He and I no longer talk. He wanted nothing to do with me when I decided my life was my own to choose. I can do many things, that is true, but I am still young. I haven't fully learned all there is to know about my heritage."

*Then you are wise beyond your years, little warrior.*
Turning to the Vampire flying next to him, the Gold seemed puzzeled.
*Lord Vampire, where is this place we are going to, and how far is it now?*

Before the Vampire could answer, a large arrow speared him in the chest, sending him carening into the forest below.
*Lord Vampire!*
Sigilos did not have time to search for their lost companion, as more spear-arrows were flying out of the forest below. It took all the Dragon's concentration to avoid them all.
*Hold on, Little Warrior!*
Feeling Terk tighten her hold on him, he sent himself into a spiral, the force knocking away any spears back to the forest floor.
*Damn! We dont have time to look for him! He will have to fend for himself for now! We're going to have to wait for the Beast Hunt until anouther time, as well.*
With a blast of scorching fire at the last arrows escaping his mighty jaws, the Gold winged off to the north, toward the mountains, and his home.

*I don't know yet, but they are not going to be happy upon my return.*
The tone in his thundering voice would have frozen hot lead.
Suddenly, they lurched to on side.
*Ouch! Damn their blasted eyes! Looks like one got caught under my wing joint. I can't stop now, it'll have to wait until we reach my home. It won't be too far now. At least hit me, are you all right, Little Warrior?*

Terk stood on Sigilos' back. "Do not worry about me." Without a second thought, she jumped from his back, transforming into her dragon form in mid-air. "I can take care of myself." She looked at th egold and dove for the shadows below.
Landing on the ground, she instantly blended with the shadows. The hunt was on.

*Were in the name of the Twelve Sons are you going?!*
The gold watched in despiar as Terk landed below.
*Damn that girl. Doesn't she relize I had a plan? ^sigh^ O well, I guess that will have to come later.*
With a wince of pain as the spear jabed into his side, Sigilos desended, like a primeveal coluosus to the forest. After landing, he tore out the spear, burning it and healing his wound before he moved on. He had to take Hybrid form to fit among the trees, but the tree branches were perfect for jumping. The shapshifter shofted his scales to match the tones of the forest, blending in better. He set of in search of Terk and the Vampire, wondering when they would listen to him.

Terk could hear the crackle of a fire as she almost teleported from shadow to shadow. Stopping on the edge of a small clearing, she stood in the shadows watching. Behind her, a large white dragon materilzed out of thin air. The dragon was see-through, obvoiusly the spirit from someonoe who had passed on. Terk seemed not to notice the creature as he stepped right up to her, almost walking over her. Her hand rested on her weapons as she silently counted the humans around the fire. These were the men who had attacked them. She was about to attack when she heard a noise behind her.
