Osso just quietly watched Len and Ike... that is until the adults next to him started going all...ew. With that Osso moved back past the crowd of people and further into the tent once more.

he didn't move far from the entrance, but just enough to no longer have to worry about getting sucked into the mob. Coming to some random animal's cage, he leaned his elbows against the guard bar, one hand holding up his head. This wasn't fun.

Julian reconsidered his comment and nodded, wincing slightly.

"Yeaaah...true. We attract trouble like moths to a flame, anyway," he said. "Ha! Unless new and exciting counts in...ah, Jesus, I can't even make a joke out of it. Life has gone into a standstill. All the excitement we're used to..." he shrugged. "Better dullness than having the soul ripped out of ya by force."

He noticed her expression then, taking one on that was quite similiar.

"What is it?"

Crow giggled, then nodded.

"Y'know...I think I will. I mean, after I actually finish a project. One's almost done, I can absolutely claim survivor vacation time after that," she said, pleased she'd remembered. Then she smiled, hugging him closely again.

"You'll make a lady blush, talking like that," she said in shyly pleased tone.

"Cages...I don't like that...they're not gonna kill them, are they?" Len said, eyes widening in fright at the prospect. No one had been able to give her a proper explaination, and she truly had no idea what was going on.

With a delighted squeak, Sadako clung to Skelly's arm and pointed randomly at one of the animal's cages.

"Skelly take Sadako to see furry things?" she asked coyly.

Ethan, caught, shifted back very slightly and put his hands in his pockets.

"High school...heh, those were the days...lying? Bjorn, the exams we have to sit through...ugh, I don't even want to think about them. I really have lost some kid of brain matter," he said easily, trying very hard to steer away from a potentially dangerous subject. He shifted so his sleeves twisted around his wrists, obscuring any view of his arms.

Meanwhile, Doll was looking around with the joy of a five year old. Stopping by a random cage, she looked down and noticed a little bone-patterned boy she thought she knew. Or maybe not, Doll wasn't that good at remembering faces. Or names.

"Hello, little bone-boy," she said, kneeling down to his level. "My name is Doll, who are you?"

Rabid looked up, snapped out of her daze.

"I'm trying to remember...ah...last time I saw you...well...maybe not last time..." she trailed off and picked up her train of thought moment later, "I...I fed off Björn, an' I came back, an' you had this weird look on your face. 'Said you'd tell me later."

She paused.

"Does this constitute as later?"

"Good," Liam smiled and drew a hand down the side of Crow's face. To him, feeling was almost as good as seeing. Not quite. He closed his eyes a moment adn attempted to remember her face.

He found he couldn't. Hiding his disappointment, he smiled.

"Yeah. I'm a real ladies man. Short, scrawny, and effeminate. Yup. That's how they like 'em."

"Oh, Gods," Ike's eyes grew wide with horror, "I hope not!" He'd never been to a circus before, but it didn't seem like a slaughtering-animals type of place...

"Of course," Skelly said and gave a wide stitched smile, beginning to walk to the animal tent and ignoring the odd stares and gasps of horror they were getting, "What furry things does Dako want to see?"

Björn shook his head and sighed.

"You can't fool me, kid. I've been through this whole teenage boy schtick," he then reached forward and grabbed one of Ethan's wrists.

There was something up with his arms.

The man used a thumb to lift the sleeve slightly.

"Slow down, Rose!" Green called and rushed to reach the bunny child that was racing just slightly ahead of her and towards the tent that seemed to be the busiest. Puffing slightly as they finally reached the entrance, the blonde whoman secretly cursed Rose's discovery of legs and speed.

Confidence surged within Rose's little body as she poked her head inside the tent. Such noise! The newness and unfamiliarty of everything (except for one or two people she thought she recognized) brought a delighted smile to her face and, after she'd taken the proper time to absorb her surrounds, Rose darted off towards the panther in the back of the tent. After all, he (or was it a she? Rose didn't particularly care) was the creature that looked the most interesting.

The feeling of cautious wellbeing he'd been cherishing for weeks cracked instantly. He shivered slightly at the memory, something wicked, a mere shadow that was barely there, creeping into his expression before it was gone again.

"Oh...that," he said, voice caught slightly. "Um..."

He briefly envisioned himself taking Bjorn's place in the memory, as he had the first few days after he'd seen her feed. He shook it off, instantly anxious and worried again.

"That's how I like you," Crow protested mildly. "You're my...my boyfriend. My zheva. And I love you."

Feeling distinctly cheesy on many different levels, she simply contented herself to kiss him lightly, hoping he wouldn't pull away.

"Oh..oh no...what if this...whatsitcalled...Zhir-kus...what if they just round 'em up and kill them?" Lenore said, more worried than ever. "What do they do with them, if not kill them?"

"Something big and fuzzy and man-eating," Sadako said, twisting her head 360 degrees as she locked eyes with strangers here and there.

Ethan's immediate instinct was to twist away, and he did.

"No!"

The word came out with far more force than he'd intended, and he blushed brilliantly.

"I'm...I'm sorry, Bjorn," he said, looking down at the ground. "I didn't mean to..." he trailed off, face burning, and took his hands out of his pockets. "You...you can look..."

Delphine was just waving goodbye to the panther when she caught sight of the bunny girl running up alongside. "Waaaait." She called up to her mother and detached herself from her leg.

Kay looked around and then down to see what had suddenly caught Delphine's attention. She smiled as she spotted the other Mishap standing near them, Delphine was becoming quite the social child.

Delphi toddled over awkwardly and then looked at the rabbity ears in suprise. "Why dont you taked em off?" she said waving her hand at the long ears, not realising that unlike the rabbit ears her mother had subjected her to at easter time, these were infact attached.

Rabid, realizing that she'd done something wrong (but not quite what), reached up and caressed the side of Julian face, giving him a weak smile.

"You can tell me anything," she smiled, "You know that. But I...I guess you don't have to if you...don't want to."

Secrets worried her. A lot.

Boyfriend?

Liam didn't quite pull away, but certainly gave a startled flinch usually reserved for anime. After a moment he returned the kiss, pulling away only when he could force himself to.

He felt oddly moved, and tears pressed at the backs of his eyes. He refused to let them fall and contented himself in smiling.

"I love you too."

Ike gave a horrified gasp.

"I dunno! If they try that, we can all go batshit crazy n' slash them to ribbons. I ain't letting no Humans murder innocent animals."

Skelly smiled and nodded, bringing Dako to a rather large, fuzzy, and possibly man-eating leopard. The cat was just above his eye level, and he had to crane his neck to see.

"Dako like?"

Björn was completely desensitized to violent reactions. He encountered them every day.

"It's alright," he nodded, "No sweat." With that, he took Ethan's arm again, gantler this time, and pulled his sleeve up.

Green's poor heart had nearly given out when she'd spotted Rose running amongst the people. What if she tripped and fell? What if somebody who wasn't a nice person at all offered the toddler some candy?

"Rose," the woman yelled desperately as she hurried to catch up to her child, "please, wait for me!"

Her mother's cries weren't considered to be much more than an annoyance and Rose decided that staring the panther in the eyes would be much more fun than waiting for the ridiculously slow woman. So, that was exactly what she did until a small voice that she didn't recognize spoke up beside her.

Rose turned to consider the other toddler and then, after a moment of thought, tugged on one of her ears to show Delphine that they were quite permanent.

"See?" Her large rabbit-like front teeth stood out when she smiled.

Looking deeply embarrassed, Julian looked down at the ground.

"You'll think it's really weird," he said, blushing, if anything, brighter.

Crow smiled, running a finger over her lower lip.

"I'll come over and visit more often, I promise," she said, leaning in close.

Len nodded hard, wings unfolding to accentuate the point.

"You get first dibs, I'll finish 'em off," she said, eyes narrowed as she glared at the assorted people like they were clubbing baby seals and shooting birds with bazookas.

Sadako chittered, nodding hard.

"Sadako like very much," she said. "Lenore is afraid of kitties and Lenore-mother is allergic, so we only have stupid Cole. Sadako thinks kitties pretty."

Ethan winced as his sleeve was drawn up, revealing the beginnings of a mass of scars.

"There...see?" he said in a very small voice. "Do not tell the others. Only Julian knows, and he found out by accident."

"Oh." Delphine said slowly, cocking her head to one side. After contemplating this for a moment she gave a quick nod. "They likes my fins." She spread them out proudly, always keen for a chance to show off, "and like Woo's ears." She paused and shook her head sadly, "Woo at home, he's dirty."

Kay quietly watched the two toddlers talk for a moment, but looked up when she heard a woman's frantic cries, ah, she knew that tone well, she'd sounded liket that many a time worrying over Delphine. She waved over at the woman and called out, "This one yours?"

"Honey, nothing's weird to me any more. My son is a frickin' squirrel, my daughter's an eternal toddler, and my best friend is a frickin' zombie eel. Please tell me?" Rabid was almost begging, "Please?"

"Sounds like a plan," Ike nodded, and then peered around, 'Wanna do somethin'? OH!" The squirrel boy dug into his pocket and took out one of the lollies Joe had given him.

"Here," he smiled and held it out to Len.

"Skelly-family doesn't have kitties either," Skelly nodded resolutely, "Skelly likes kitties too." He then turned and spotted a...what was it...a lion? Well, it had an awesome hairdo. He began to lead Dako toward it.

"I won't tell anyone. Don't worry about it," Björn nodded before pulling the sleeve back down as if it were some kind of sacred ritual, "What're they from?"

Swallowing with difficulty, Julian tried to find the right way to say it. Or at least not irreperably embarrass himself.

"I kinda...when I saw you...ehh."

He took a deep breath.

"I found it really attractive when I saw you feeding and I wished you'd do it to me," he spluttered, turning away and feeling his face catch fire. Well, figuratively, anyway. He'd seemingly lost his "gift" of fire after he'd gotten the marque.

Oooh, candy. Taking the lollipop and examining it closely, Len grinned and ripped the wrapper off, sticking it in her mouth rather forcefully.

"Thanks, Bah," she said thickly. There was a loud crack as she bit a sliver of the pop off, and she chewed it loudly. She pointed at random at something scaly and rather alien looking. "Wanna go look at that thing?"

The sign beside it said 'pangolin', what ever the hell that meant.

"Jean Michel," Ethan said, voice a thread. "He did not like it when I made mistakes."

He decided to omit telling Bjorn what kind of mistakes he'd been making to earn such a punishment.

Rabid was greatly taken aback. Her face flushed a bright red colour, and she gave a nervous laugh. It took her a few moments to regain her compsure.

She placed a hand on Julian's shoulder and bit her lower lip. It was her turn to be embarassed.

"All you had to do was ask. I would've done it."

"Yer welcome," Ike nodded, and then turned toward whatever that animal was, "Pango...pango...lin. Pangolin. Psh. Anything with a name like that's gotta be damn cool." He nodded and started off toward the animal.

Björn furrowed his brow and gave a kind of gutteral snort at the sound of that name.

"Mistakes?" he asked, not quite realizing that Ethan had been avoiding telling him.

Now this girl was cool. Green hadn't yet succeeded at teaching Rose proper manners for the bunny child just didn't have the patience for silly things like that. Therefore, Rose always acted on first impulse. Without bothering to ask, she reached out and prodded one of Delphine's fins with a finger. The texture was entirely new to her.

"Wow," Her eyes were wide and there was an impressed note in her tone.

Then, all that talk of Woo thoroughly confused her and all Rose could do was stare at the other Mishap as she tried to makes sense of the situation. Did this girl know Woo too?

"Woo is VERY dirty," she nodded agressively. That was something she could agree with and it didn't confuse her in the least.

Green looked at the strange woman with surprise. Had Rose managed to make friends already?

"Yes," she sighed as she finally managed to catch up to the child, "she's mine. Thank you for finding her for me."

Kay didn't look like the type of woman that would try and lure little children into vehicles with promises of puppies and cake. So, Green smiled and, seeing that Rose was preoccupied with another little girl, held her hand out to Kay.

"The name's Green."

Managing to only make a kind of choked "nngh" sound, Julian nodded and willed the burning heat in his face to go away. After a minute he regained his composure, if only slightly.

" 'Kay," he said. He couldn't quite manage to say anything else yet.

"Hello, pangolin," Lenore said, bending down to look at it more closely. It was cute, really. "Huh...neat lookin' lizard."

She checked the sign again, but it said nothing other than the creature's name.

"At least...I think it's a lizard," she said, taking another painful-sounding bite from her lollipop.

Ethan shifted, looking slightly sick.

"I was trained to fight by hand because I would not use a gun," he said, voice nearly inaudible. "Jean Michel taught me himself. And when I made mistakes...he..."

Unable to continue, he plucked at a sleeve to get the point across.
