I like to eat baked goods while reading, cookies being the best.

Here's a recipe for antonym cookies from my blog, they're called -antonym- cookies because they're chocolate cookies with white chips (a little wordgeek humor there... sweatdrop ):

Ingredients:
1.5 cups flour
0.5 cup cocoa powder
0.5 tsp baking soda
0.25 tsp salt
0.5 cup butter or margarine
0.75 cups packed brown sugar
0.5 cup granulated sugar
1.0 tsp vanilla extract
2.0 eggs
1.3333333333... cups white chocolate chips (1 10oz bag)

1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F and grease a baking sheet.
2. Beat sugars and butter together until mixed. Add vanilla and eggs. In a separate bowl combine flour, cocoa, baking soda and salt. Slowly add the dry ingredients to the egg mixture while stirring. Finally, add the white chocolate chips while stirring with a wooden spoon. If you stir the chips in with a mixer, you'll have chocolate fragment cookies.
3. Drop rounded teaspoonfuls of batter onto the greased cookie sheet and bake for 10 minutes. The cookies should set up and become a bit less jiggly when done. Cool slightly and then place on a kitchen towel or wire rack to cool completely. Oh, who am I kidding, you'll eat them when they're hot and gooey.

chips if it's a shortish book, cup of soup (cup not bowl) if it's one I'm getting into so I don't have to worry about the spoon. Usually if I get thirsty while reading, it's coffee, dew, or tea. I don't bother putting the book down toget my munchies, I just carry it with me. redface

I'm fine with something that will not be able to mess up all the pages, so like gum, jolly ranchers, or popcorn.

Normally I don't eat or drink anything while reading. Too much risk to the pages. However, if I do eat anything, it'll normally be a few cookies or some chips if we have any, or if I'm hungry a sandwich. To drink, water normally, or some SoBe, Vitamin Water/Life Water, or some soda depending on what's available. In extreme cases, I wil read while eating full meals. I read Song in the Silence while eating a dinner of ramen noodles before.

It is boring, but I usually keep a bottle of water near by. I don't want to have to get up to get something to drink. And I'm less likely to make a mess with a bottle of water. If I reach for it and knock it over, while my eyes are glued to the page, the cap saves the day. Sometimes I snack, but it would be something clean. I don't want to smudge up the pages of the book.

I'm not one to eat while reading. I do drink however. Tea [iced or hot] and water are my favorites.

I am one of those unfortunate people who has developed painfully sensitive teeth early in life, but I cannot resist Twisties.
I know, I know, crumbs between pages, but I read lying down in my bed, so I get more of the darn things down my top than I get in the book.
I can't eat chocolate, or gummi lollies (I LOVE gummi lollies!).
Curse you people for making me think about food. I haven't had dinner, and it's too late to go to the shops and get some Twisties. sad

Mmmm...Twisties. *drools a bit* gonk
