Illegal? Yes. Wrong? Perhaps.
But I like to live on the edge, Baby!

*trying to recover from gay-prancing Tala*
A-hem.
I just realized I didn't really answer the 'main' question, merely stated that when I saw the characters in a magazine, I was drawn to who I'd later come to know as Kai.
Liking him.... ohhh boy. This sounds so shallow, but I think I was drawn to his power as a blader first, never mind that it wasn't showcased all too much in the three seasons. sweatdrop I was such a power freak... and probably still am.. Seriously, in the Black Dranzer arc, I was also drawn to that darned blade - I remember thinking "...wow. I'd love to have a blade like that."
Then came Kai's whole villain-turned-antihero thing that pretty much tied in with my own change in character (was going through a rough patch and was acting like a worse version of Kai - try not speaking to anyone in your family for... two months). Really can't explain... maybe a birds of a feather thing, even though one of us technically doesn't exist...
But now that I've gone into that... I do remember the first character I liked the looks of was Rei... 3nodding
...did I even make sense up there?

It is not POSSIBLE to recover from gay-prancing Tala.
Once you've seen it it has marked you for LIFE
*looks at first answer in this thread* XDD Nope. That still stands true. 'Cept I'm pretty sure I can safely say that I was actually drawn to Joe first XD I'm a sucker for that scarf. It's so flowy.
Then came the srs Kai obsession. Which evolved into me laughing AT Kai for his pure amazingness XDDD
*has a strange head*
...*wanders off to watch some Grev*

Yep, it's impossible.
It did not help that I chanced upon one of my school's theater groups rehearsing for their open-air play this year, and one of the guys was wearing his character's wig (I think) - which was unsettlingly similar to a certain redhead's hair - and doing mock ballet leaps and things.
Seeing almost the real thing is more scarring than a doodle, I should think. O_x
