Ora glanced at him in confusion. "We are not a family to be so greatly treasured, there is more trouble to our lives than you may understand. Perhaps it would be better for you to lose us, as some would say." She gave a soft sigh. "would you like to watch my cartoons with me?"

Ora motioned for him to follow her to the other room where her tv was, and she sat down on the floor before putting in a disk. "If you make fun of the bunny song, I will never forgive you." She spoke coldly, but took her seat and patted the ground next to her for the dragon to take his.

Ora remained content to watch the cartoons, giving little notice to drake. But a pleasant smile was on her face, at least for the time being.

Erica pushed open the door, her mind working through the events of the day. She would need to go through and look at those tunnels leading from the library, when she got the time. She walked into the apartment, all the lights were off, Ora must have gone adventuring again. She needed to get a leash on the child, or at least a small honing device. She sighed inwardly, she was as bad as her father, who Erica hadn't heard from since his brief surprise at the club. A six months absense, and then another absense. The plans of his must truly be mind consuming this time. They both had plans, Xeen, and Ora, plans that they didn't feel needed to be shared with her. Protecting her? Possibly. Or running off to die, while she stood there naieve of the happenings. Why do they want power so much? Why do they feel the need to change the world? because they are powerful. Because they could.
A hand slipped around Erica's waist, and for a moment she thought it was Xeen's, until a second one wound tight against her mouth so she couldn't scream. The pain shot through her system, and then it was done.
