Everett had backed away after seeing Pach's look, especially the one in her eye....he'd seen that look before, but he came in anyway. "Talk to you, Ryo wants. Come now to the park, you must," Everett hooted, nodding toward Raven and Hikaro.

Pach retreated back to her chair and resumed reading her book.
No eating friend's family.. she had to remember that...
Zzzzz....Zzzzz.....
Raven kept sleeping, rolling over onto his back upon the window opening..
Not much else for teh_sleepeh babeh to do.

Hikaro had to use the restroom, he hadn't since before he left to go to the park, and that was a long while ago. Before the winged messenger's arrival, he got up to locate a bathroom. Finding one--well, you can assume he completely missed Everett, as he was relieving himself.
Hikaro sighed in relief sweatdrop

Haku and Teak walked down the street. Teak, being the tall thing he was, kept an easy stride while Haku had to really move it to keep up with the rabbit. Teak seemed harsh to many who just saw him, but he was just a protective guy. Fiercely protective. Once the auburn haired rabbit said that he would protect you, he'd do anything in his power to keep it.
So Haku was in good hands. Stopping, Haku adjusted his glasses and peered at a street sign. He took off down a corner and paused, they were here. Pushing open the door, Haku peered around the bookstore. He was curious as to this 'Miss Maurie' character.
"Hello?" He asked quietly.

Miss Maurie looked up from shelving a new supply of books. She adjusted her spherical glasses and got down from the ladder she was using to see who was here.

Haku smiled sheepishly. He'd been in here many times before, and the money he recently aquired at the rennaissance fair weighted his pocket heavily. "Miss Maurie, I presume?" He said, walking in. His steps were quiet, and he nervously hugged his arms to himself.
Teak turned up his nose a little at the smell of the books. Many were old, and gave a musty rotten wood smell, at least to Teak. The rabbit thrust his hands in his pockets and looked around.

"Correct. You must be Haku, the one all the workers are talking about," she said. "Though I've never seen a rabbit that could walk on it's hind legs."

Teak smirked from where he was standing. On his hind legs as it was, he was a good 6'4" That was stretching it a little, most times he was an even 6' Ears erect, he brushed most ceilings, as they were two feet long.
Haku nodded. "Indeed I am, and a pleasure it is to finally meet you, Miss Maurie. I wondered where the fabled owner of the bookstore resided."
Haku loved making such small talk, it was pleasurable to a boy who most often spent his time reading in solitude. Teak however, could do without exchanging such pleasantries.

At this point, Haku had entirely forgotten what Ryo had spoken to them earlier about, and unfortunately neglected to write it down, he was so taken with the newest Hououza to arrive.
BUT-- that also was not the reason he went to the bookstore. Hikaro asked him to pick up a rather odd book, seeingashow Haku went to the bookstore like every other day. "Miss Maurie, what books do you have on mythical creatures that have been spotted, or have factual evidence that they exist, although one has never been caught, such as, the tasmanian tiger, loch ness monster...? Also, a book on Criptid Demonology, if you have one. I have seen your section on the occult has been expanding of late." Haku said, thrusting one hand into his pocket as a habitual gesture, to pat his pocket and make sure his money did not run away.

Miss Maurie nodded. "Follow me," she said, heading over to a shelf with many strange looking books, some having pictures of Dragons on the spines, whereas some had strange demons instead.

Haku followed her, summoning Teak as well. The shelf, Haku figured, was too high for him to see normally. Rather than grabbing a stool, or chair, Teak gave him a leg up, hefting the featherlight boy to the proper height to see the various books on display.
Most of the books here were quite new. Haku would figure that if he were to find a steady job, it would most likely be a librarian, as he would detest having to give the most loved and worn books away to someone else.
Besides, even the biggest bookstores don't have nearly the same number of books as some of the more moderately sized libraries. Yes, libraries were this Hououza's dream.
Snapping back to reality, Haku admonished himself for daydreaming and not paying attention to what was going on. Scanning the book spines, he didn't find exactly what he was looking for, but picked three with general titles he might be able to find snippits in.
"Ring these up for me, would you, Miss Maurie?"

"Yes," she quickly said, taking the books and heading over to the register. She punched in the amounts on the register, then added it all up. "It all comes up to $45.18" she said, bagging the books.
