((Since there are two heros in this thread everyone should make a note:
Heros will defend themselves since they are bigger point targets, but other than that they provide support for PCs. In other words, unless you're engaging the hero, you PCs have to still work for your kills.

Staff will not do all your work for you.))

((Does that mean I'm only allowed to kill if people engage me first? And aside from that, I can only provide support for Des?))

((I'm gonna assume this is all being worked out and continue on guys 3nodding Lemme know what you hash out if you are.))

There was a flash, and suddenly a lot of black body's were flying making Sunstrike duck, lest he be taken out by one, there weren't as many as would obviously be imagined, considering how many among the crowd were rooks, heavy lifters and heavier persona's. They'd be pushed back, but the fact still remained that the wall that had steadily been growing in force was wider, but mostly intact.

The human componants would be the worse off for it, no doubt a hell of a headache would be coming their way. Sunstrike himself winced as one eye widened. That wasn't good. The mental barriers around the maw shifted, and a foot in diameter circle of dirt up and dissappeared next to him. The air shivered, but steadied once he got back to his senses.

Picking himself up once more, he looked to Athan and yelled at the other two.

"Branch out! Look for the source!" The white shades of Sey's magic were frantic now, scouring the alley ways and roads, looking for where the mine had come from. Obviously there was no clear indication, other then the flash of a persona on the top of the building.

Barely anyone had seen that.

He wasn't necessarily paying attention to Hakan well enough to notice that the guy had actually fired his arrow. But in the end, it turned out, he wasn't paying attention to the correct side of the battle anyway. The concussion mine detonated as intended, much to Athan's disappointment.

It wasn't any more entertaining the second time around, but the pure concussive force was more than enough to knock a lightweight arrow out of the air, before Athan even recognized that it was a threat.

He was disoriented, but since the mine wasn't thrown directly at him, he was probably the best off out of anyone there. Once he had his bearings, Athan shook the cobwebs free from his mind, clearing his vision over the course of about thirty seconds.

And then his eyes fixated upon Sunstrike, who was in the process of picking himself up off the ground. Everyone was disoriented, organization had gone out the window.

Perfect, really.

And so he threw himself at the red-haired man, sword coming across his body in an upwards diagonal, aiming to either slice open Sun's chest or just cut him straight in twain.

The deadly sharp edges of Kel'Drin would settle for nothing else.

So there she was just a stumbling along. Then there was like this big explosion relatively close to her. Well close enough for the sound to carry over to her ears.

This caused something of a chain effect. Falling forward onto her knees due to the 'oh s**t' reflex and loss of balanced caused by shock. In reaction to this she emptied the contents of her stomach - not much - all over the ground.

Well with that done she scrambled back up using the wall, wiped her mouth, and continued on to the source of the blast. So far all she had seen was some worker shades busy with their task.

Chances are she was not the only person moving to / from the area with the blast effect. So as it would be she stumbled out of a way to the right, holding onto the wall still, kind of sagging against it as she took stock of the scene before her.

"...What the ********?" What did you expect her to say?

((I actually havent started firing yet, and even if I did, theres a supressor on the gun. Minimal sound, plus the commotion it probably would have caused it and maybe a ringing in one's ears to hide what little sound it would make.))

((Yes, you can support dessie Kraun. But just keep it in the back of your mind that he has to do just as much work.

Mostly what I'm saying is that if it comes down to a PC dealing a major atack, and the hero dealing a major attack, you should let the PC have their chance.

And if an enemy is fighting to kill you, gloves are off.))

Hakan had already been on the ground, so he had been saved from the worst of the blast, but the sound still left a ringing in his ears, and the flash had made it so he couldn't see all that well. so, Hakan did what he considered the smart thing.

A slight shift, letting him pull the string of his bow back enough for an arrow to form, and Hakan stopped moving for now. He pretended to have been knocked out. And meanwhile, he began to charge the arrow with ice magic, hoping nobody stepped on him.

If someone was paying close atention, they might notice the magic after a minute or so. But really, who'd pay attention to a seemingly unconcious foe when there were active ones about?

((You were posting intent to fire. I was posting what I intended to do once you did fire. But since there's a suppressor, I'll delete and make a new post. Happy?

...I'm not sure how the hell we're supposed to find you then. I don't supposed I can judge the direction a bullet came from if something falls down dead beside me?))
PostPosted: Sat Aug 12, 2006 4:30 pm

((No, dont bother, I'm making a post with a follow-up of firing. Assuming you check the direction the bullets come from or something. How they ricochet, or where they hit.))

Flare bit her tongue to refrain from crying out as one of the heavier shades bumped into her wounded right side. Fortunately, its body shielded hers from any other flying forms.

Disoriented, Flare began looking around for the source of the blast, trusting Athan would be too busy dodging flying bodies. She didn't see the assailant, not at first...and soon she had bigger worries.

Athan went barreling by her on his way to Sun. He had passed her by the time she brought her hands up, letting a fireball fly at his back, from behind him and slightly to his right.

((Seeing as how I was heading towards Sun in my last post, I assume I'm nearby enough to do this.))
PostPosted: Sat Aug 12, 2006 4:32 pm

As the blade came upwards there was nothing that Sun could do besides throw himself backwards, there was a ripping sound and a hiss of pain as first blood was drawn in the shape of a cut running nicely down the skin of his chest, papercut thin and painful as ******** he wasn't going to take that standing still, and as soon as his feet touched the ground he was pushing forwards, under Athan's gaurd and recovery from swinging the sword.

The other man would find his foot trapped by Sun's own boot as the metal, buisness end of a staff jammed upwards into Athan's jaw. If it connected, heavy duty corrective surgery would be needed for the internal workings of the other mans mouth.

((Too late. I'd rather not change it back, if you don't mind. sweatdrop ))

((Gyargh! Alright.

Now I started shooting.))

With the build-up of energy in that one woman's hands, Ji Long quite simply was not happy. He'd take aim and fire three rounds in her direction. He did not aim at her head, for at this distance (I assume its more than 30'), he was not a very good shot. His ideal firing range was within thirty feet, where his limited firing skills were at best. Instead, he aimed at her body, which presented the largest of targets, in case his aim was off, it might hit her sides or something.

((Interrupt on the fireball.))

((*Edit: Supporting evidence of the energy detection just in case:
Flare Sithfallin
She began heading towards Sun, keeping Athan in her peripheral vision even as her hands began to glow red.
))
