Yuki nodded her head slowly, carefully accepting the cup though still not saying anything. It'd be very hard for her to get out more than one word at a time right now. She began sipping at the tea, eyes on the blanket once more as she sat, tail still tapping against her waist. She was his first kiss... She guessed that made sense, as he'd said he'd never gotten close to anyone before. Though, she couldn't say the same. That was her second, even if she hadn't had a boyfriend before. She let out a very quiet sigh. As he questioned her, she shrugged her shoulders slightly and took a deep breath before looking up at him. She smiled softly and shook her head. "I-I don't realy kn-know either..." she admitted faintly. What was there even to do here? She really hadn't been to a festival before that she could clearly recall.

"Rivera... You might wanna try some of this... Your cooking is great...." Kira said as he was stuffing his face with sushi and soba noodles. He drank deeply, guzzling a good bit of his mug of pomegranate juice. He then stopped and looked at her quietly as he tried to remember the games that had been set up. "There's something called Shoot the Web... Then Get in the Van, and a wierd one with a bear and a girl...." He said quietly, looking at her, then the scene of sakura trees all around them.

Shinku sighed and reached for a riceball from the still open obento on their blanket and cupped his hands around it. He took a large bite from it and chewed quietly. He finished it quickly and looked around. Dammit... Gyrfalcon and Kira are here... I can feel there auras... Regardless, I'm not going to let them interfere with this date... I finally took some time off so they shuld be happy... He thought to himself.

( This post was deleted 3 times, late night on my laptop. This is the fourth version of the post, so I'm not sure if it's good or not... I just know it's long. DX Sawwy! )

"O-Oh... Oh! Y-You made i-it? T-That's a-amazing, Ai!" Makie smilied lightly. "Y-You're s-soo talented A-Ai..! Y-You can m-make a-and design k-kimonos, y-you can s-sing, y-you can a-act, y-you help a lot o-of people too! A-And you c-can c-cook as well..!" Makie could only design kimonos after several hours of terrible ideas, and for singing... Her voice hadn't matured yet, so she didn't have the longest range ever. The brunette could only sing higher notes as opposed to lower notes. And acting... She stutters too much, and she wasn't that great at making people happy. As for cooking. Well, it took Makie several hours longer than the normal time to create more complicated dishes, and she always re-made simple dishes over and over again until they were perfect...

But sandwhiches were Makie's specialty. She had loads of practice making them. Ever since she started living with her grandparents, the girl had always helped make the sandwhiches when they went on picnics... Every sing Sunday.

That was when Makie heard a french accented voice beginning to speak. She blushed a light pink, as she immidiately looked over at Oliver. She didn't really hear what he was saying because she was a bit too busy taking in his features. He looked like a child, but also like an adult as well. If that could be possible. He had soft skin, deep blue eyes you could get lost in... And a small cocky grin was placed over his lips. And then she was lightly punched by Oliver. Makie's chocolate eyes widened, and then she stared back down at her plate of food for a moment, a dark red tinting her once pale cheeks.

Misty rolled her eyes at the brunette. Makie was most likely thinking that being lightly punched by Oliver, her crush was probably a sign of friendship or something like that. That's when Misty notice Ai take up one of Makie's sandwhiches, the swordswoman, who had for one day left her sword at her dorm, decided to take one as well. A lettuce, tomatoe and mayo sandwhich. At the same time of all this, Makie was biting her lip in nervous fear that Ai and Misty wouldn't like her sandwhiches... Pull yourself together Makie! It's only a sandwhich, they gotta like it, right...? The brunette thought with a gulp followed by holding her breath. But they couldl ie and secretly not like it... Oh my gosh! I hope that's not it..!

After Ai took a bite and showed how she liked it, Makie looked up, her hands clasped together and her milk chocolate eyes filled with glee.

"R-Really...? D-Do y-you really l-like it...?" Makie asked hopefully. Misty took a bite shortly after Ai did, and came to the same delight as the lavender haired angel. But Misty never showed how much she liked it. Makie waited for Misty's reaction, hoping that she'd like it too.

"It's good. Nice job, squirt." Misty said taking another casual bite. Makie's expression saddened a bit.

"St-Stop calling me th-that..." Makie said quietly, looking down at her watermelon flavored rice ball that was in front of her. "You're so m-mean, M-Misty..."

"Okay... I take it back... Just don't start the water works..." Misty rolled her cyan eyes and let out a sigh. Couldn't she take one casual nickname like squirt. Honestly. It wasn't like Misty was insulting her or anything. She said in one of the nicest ways possible. Although, Makie quickly dismissed that little scene when Oliver took a bite of one of her sandwhiches. The brunette bit her lower lip, held one hand over her heart and held her breath. She was starting to act like Ai, putting her hand over her heart thing. Ai seemed to do that a lot, and it probably rubbed off on Makie. After that bite came another bite... And then another bite... Then soon he was beginning to gobble down all; of her sandwhiches. She blushed madly, thinking that the boy she liked actually liked her cooking. But her mind was taken off the subject when Ai replied to Makie about the singing subject.

"O-Oh... W-Well... Gr-Grandma always said th-that... Umm... Oh y-yeah... S-She always s-said that we a-are our o-own worst critics... A-And t-there are the f-few p-people out there t-that m-might n-not l-like you, b-but... I-It's the same f-for every one! E-Every one, e-even famous p-people, h-have p-people w-who d-don't like them... B-But t-they d-don't let th-that get t-to them and they k-keep going... A-And that's w-why p-people like t-them." Makie began to ramble about what she thought was bugging Ai. She wasn't sure if it was actually helping, but she continued on anyways, crossing her arms and nodding. "A-And i-if y-you love to s-sing, then k-keep s-singing even i-if you think t-that others d-don't l-like y-you... Y-You should go on a-and d-do w-what you want t-to do... And--"

"Basically she means that there are people out there that will hate you, but you should keep going on regardless of what others think. If you love singing, then your motivation to go on singing is your love and passion for it and no matter what you do, your friends will support you." Misty said, cutting off the topic. She could see Ai wanted to pass he subject, but obviously Makie completely missed the hint.

"Y-You kn-know... I-If you s-sing... Y-You s-should sing Unfaithful... B-By Rhianna! I-It's her n-new pretty s-song t-that's out..." Makie began before being elbowed by Misty. The brunette shot her older friend a childish angry look. Misty simply stared at her back for a few seconds before Makie nodded and took a small bite from her rice ball. She felt a bit awkward after rambling on like that. Misty and Makie were very close, and they could get what each other was saying by just one look.

"Umm... Umm... Erm... Ah... J-Johnny Depp..!" Makie said the first thing that came to mind to get rid of the singing subject. "Erm.. H-He's a r-really a-amazing a-actor! D-Did you s-see his recent movie...? P-Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead man's Chest..? I-I saw i-it six t-times!" He was also rather hawt, but Makie found some one else that she found was hawt. Not Teddy Geiger, or any one else that was famous... It was her crush. With a giggle, she fantasized(sp?) about Oliver in Jack Sparrow clothing and her in Elizabeth Swann's dress. They did kiss at the end of the second movie, but Elizabeth was soo meant for Will.

Misty rolled her eyes at the brunette and let out a breath. "I'm just going to go roam around now. See the sights and what not. I'll catch you guys later." And with that said, she left. Makie felt really bad, but kept quiet. Unsure of what to do.

"I-I hope I didn't d-do anything wrong..." Makie said, biting her lower lip.

Melody made her way to the area where the Sakura picnic was being held. She closed her eyes briefly, taking in the wonderful smells. She loved this time of year. It was even better that the cherry blossoms were pink, her favorite color. Of course, she usually preferred a much brighter pink, but the pale soothing colors of the blossoms calmed her.

A soft breeze was blowing, some of the petals had become loose, and they were raining down on the picnickers. Melody saw several people, some she knew. She waved to them somewhat half heartidly, gazing around. She really didn't care about them. She had to find that girl, that odd girl. Something was up with her and Melody was intriqued.

Suddenly Melody spotted her. She still wore that same black outfit, and she was lying under a tree, her head rolled back as if she were asleep. Melody quickly pushed past a couple lying on a picnic blanket. They didn't seem to notice her, as they were very busy with other things. Melody glanced at them for a moment, laughing to herself. It seemed as if the cherry blossoms realised some sort of aphrodisiac. She counted about 5 couples making out, and that was just what she could she. She was pretty sure there were many others as well.
***********************

Leila lay under her tree, unaware of what was going on. She had fallen asleep, like normal. She wasn't really dreaming about anything. Those were her favorite dreams, the ones filled with darkness. It was as if nothing could get her. Nightmares frightenend her. Dreams depressed her. It was best if she experienced neither.

"Hey its you!" She suddenly heard a loud voice cry. Whoever it was seemed a bit agitated, as if they had been looking for the person they were trying to locate for some time. "Hello? Get up! I've been looking all over for you"

She was then aware that somebody was shaking her. She eyes popped open almost immedinantly and she jumped back, banging her head against a low lying branch in the process.

"Ouch!" The person who had been shaking her exclaimed. "Are you ok?"

Leila nodded with embarresment, and caught a glimpse at who had awoken her. It was that pink hair girl from earlier, the songstress. "Your names Melody, right?" Leila asked the ground.

"I dunno if the ground is named Melody, but thats my name too" the pink hair girl said, attempting to crack a joke. She then stopped, gazed around and then sat next to Leila. "Are you ok? You seem a bit...out of it"

Leila was taken aback. Out of it? How could she be out of it? Melody seemed to read her thoughts, for she continued on. "I mean, its not that you are weird or anything. You just seem a bit lonely. Are you shy? I'm not. I haven't got many friends here yet because I am new. But maybe if we hang out together we can make a lot of friends."

Leila nodded her head slowly. She did want friends. Nevermind she couldnt touch them. She would get to that point later if it ever had to be exclaimed. Of course she wouldn't indulge her secret now. How many people would want to be friends with a girl who could kill them by merely touching them. Nah, it was best if she just kept that little tidbit in the dark. She smiled at Melody, who was several inches taller than her. "Ok."

Yuki heard Shinku sigh and bowed her head slightly, still sipping at the tea he'd given her. She wondered if he was annoyed that she didn't know what to do. I'm not used to this sort of thing... she thought faintly to herself and then gave a soft sigh of her own. Her tail had curled beside her, flicking gently against the blanket they were seated upon, and her face was still red. She glanced up to see him looking around, but kept her own eyes lowered.

Rivera shook her head. "I'm not very hungry... actually..." She sipped a little from her cup. The she had been sick when she was fighting the Kestrel, but the Half Moon incantation should have restored her health. Maybe there was still a bit of the flu lingering around and she just caught it again... oh well. "I... I haven't really played any games before. Well, none besides the games Kai an I used to play, to train for hand-to-hand combat, that is." She let the wind rustle through her hair. The silver chopsticks pinning it up glistened with pale pink of falling petals. "You know... the flowers reminds me of a song... a lullabye my mother used to sing for me when I can't sleep. You don't get to see this type of thing out on islands or under the sea." She suddenly felt a jolt connect with her in the back of her head. While she was resting, her aural sensitivity was slowly returning... but she wished it didn't. There was a flashing connection that whispered right into her ear that Ravenhawk was nearby. She felt her back muscles suddely constrict, a tension that she usually created just before she let out her wings. Instead, she relaxed quickly... the feeling was gone. It was probably her mind playing tricks on her. "Those games do sound kinda fun though.

Melanie grinned and pulled Jake behind her. "AHA! We're here! Want to eat?" She asked, a large smile pasted on her pink-tinted face. Her blonde hair was loose with a dark blue headband covered in yellow crystals and she was wearing a deep blue kimono with a white obi and a yellow star pattern. Mel's feet were in geta and a matching dark blue ribbon was tied like a choker around the young girl's neck. She was carrying two bentos for both of them and lightly kissed Jake on the lips.

"Jake, I made lunch, ok?" She sat down on the grass and pulled him down with her. A light wind passed and her hair seemed the float. The kimono that covered her rustled lightly and she fell back with a sigh. "Ok, I'm eating. Kisa taught me how to do bentos well."

Melody stretched out in the grass beside Leila, and let her long pink hair stream around her like a river. For several moments she stayed like this, letting the wind slowly blow her hair upwards. It was a nice feeling, the sun beat down, but the tree hid them from most of its violent rays. Every so often, one of the blossoms would slip away, casting its pink petals into her face. The covered Leila as well, but she made no attempt to move them.

Melody stared at her out of the corner of her eye for several moments, trying to decide exactly what was up with the girl. Leila looked, peculiar. Melody wondered why she wore that outfit. I was if she didnt' want anyone touching her. But, Melody wanted to touch her. Her skin looked so smooth, like that of a doll. Her cheeks had a slight flush, possibly from the heat. And her lips...No! Leila exclaimed to herself. I don't like anyone, especially another girl!

"So, tell me about yourself." Melody said slowly, her eyes closed. She felt sleepy, the sun was soothing as was Leila's presence. She wasn't sure what it was about this girl, something about her made her calm and such. "Or, if you'd like I'll tell you about me, and then we can go from there."

She pulled herself, her arms wrapped around her knees and began to talk. "Well, I'm Melody. I'm seventeen years old and I just started here at Ria High. I'm a songstress-"

"You sing really pretty" Leila said, softly. She felt herself blush. "I-I don't really have any magical powers." That was the truth, but also a lie. It was true that Leila couldn't conjure anything, nor did she have any power over the elements. However her skin was deadly.

Melody felt herself blush at the same time Leila did. She gazed at the girl. She was strange, but Melody couldn't help liking her. She wasn't two small, about 5'4. Her medium length silver hair blew slowly in the wind, a few stands fell over her blue eyes. Before Melody had any idea what she was going, she felt her hand go up and brush those strands away.

Immediantely Leila pulled herself away. It was if Melody had some sort of disease. Melody felt herself turning an even brighter red. Why had she done that? "I'm so sorry!"

Leila herself was now pale, all the color had drained from her face. She stood there shaking for several moments, unable to mask the fear she was feeling. Her heart beat a million miles an hour, she felt as if it would burst. "Whats wrong?" she heard Melody ask. "What did I do?"

Leila stood up, and was about to go running when she suddenly felt Melody grasp her hand. She stood stock still, unable to move. It was if she was a magnet and she was being attracted to Melody's touch. "Why are you so afraid to be touched?"

"I-I can't touch people..." Leila spoke softly, Melody's hand still in hers. "I-my skin is messed up. If I touch people...they...they get sick. Sometimes even die." She felt a tear slowly form in her eye, it made its path across her cheek. She knew her and Melody's friendship was doomed.

But then, she felt something she hadn't expected. Melody had pulled her into a hug from behind. The girl held her there for several moments before speaking. "So thats why you wear gloves, well that makes sense."

Kira stopped eating and looked at Rivera quietly. "Is there any chance I could hear you sing that lullaby some time?" He asked gently. He noticed she seemed a little tense for a moment, but she had relaxed almost immediately. "You felt it too? Ravenhawk's near... He probably won't be interested in fighting us right now though..." He said quietly. He got up and walked over to sit down by Rivera and put an arm around her shoulders. "Besides... This is a time for everyone to relax... He probably has his own time planned out with his date..." He said simply giving Rivera a small smile.

Shinku looked at Yuki quietly, wondering what he should do. Damn... I think I hate not having been on a date before... He thought. It was getting complicated. He didn't know what to do, how to do it, or what to say. He then took another few bites of his riceball, finishing it off, and laid back once more. "Dating can be a confusing experience huh?" He asked quietly.

Ai smiled, but a sad smile, when Makie was praising Ai for all the stuff she could do perfect. Cook, make clothes, clean, etc. Singing was the only thing that most angels can't do; and she had alot of pride in her singing. But sometimes, pride can be a sin.

"Thank You, Makie! It makes me happy when say such compliments! But really, I wish I could dance like you!" she said to Makie as she picked up her cup that had lemonade and took a light sip. When Makie dances, she reminds me of my mom. She use to dance alot though I've never seen her dance Ai thought as Oliver waved his arms around excitedly.

"I CAN- UM. I CAN PLAY THE DRUMS!" he yelled in a very hyper tone as a gigantic smle grew on his face. The truth was, that Oliver never really played on real drums, he just.. he just used pots and pans one day at the Cafeteria and used soup spoons to bang on them. Ai remembered getting an angry call from one of the lunch ladies because Oliver was making such a racket.

"Oh! Makie! Maybe you should open a cafe somewhere and sell your sandwhiches!" AI said as she replied to Makie's studdered question. Oliver nodded as well, he was really fond with these different flavor sandwhiches. Which reminded him.. he should eat some more. And eat some more he did. Sometimes I wonder how he can never gain weight thought Ai as she looked at Oliver annoyingly, sometimes Oliver can really be a handful.

"O-Oh...

I-It's her n-new pretty s-song t-that's out..." Makie began before being elbowed by Mist

Ai was kind of moved by this; since when did her friends care this much about her. Though, Ai had trouble trying to understand Makie's studdered very long sentence; she should break that habbit of her's sometime. Yeah, they are right. But-but in my condition.. I'm not sure I'll be alive to be a famous singer she thought as she remembered her past. Ai gave up so much angelic lifeforce to save alot of her past friends and her sister Feena, that she barely has enough for herself. She doesn't even know if she'll live past the age of 25.

"Eh? Unfaithful? Hmmm.. sounds like a good song to sing!" she said as she tapped her chin, thinking weither she would sing that song or another one. "Yeah! I'll sing Unfaithful!" she said as she pumped her fists in the air; Ai truly loves singing.

Ai took her cup as she sipped the lemonade, but she noticed that she drank all of it. Grabbing the larger cup that was filled with more lemonade, she poured some more into her cup as she listened to Makie about this actor Johnny Depp. AI has heard of this movie, but unfortunately, Ai doesn't really watch TV or go to the movies. Oliver smiled as he listened, he has seen the movie, but he saw it by himself one day because Feena nor Ai wanted to go waste time in a dark room that shows moving pictures.

"Oh! Eh, Salut! said Ai as she waved 'byebye' to Misty as she went somewhere to wander. "She probably just wants to see whats around!" said Oliver as he replied to the concerning Makie with a bright smile on his face.

Makie blushed softly as Ai thanked her for the compliments and then complimenting her dances. Her dancing was all that great, in fact her real majors were only ballet, modern, jazz and acro jazz, which was sort of like gymnastics. In fact, in ballet, she often fell in her pointe shoes, so she wasn't that great.

"Erm... N-Not r-really... M-My d-dancing i-isn't all that g-great... I-I m-mean... It's... Ummm... J-Just..." Makie said, getting all flustered. She wasn't very good with praise. That was why the brunette was happy that Oliver had an outburst when he did. Tee hee hee. Drums are very loud, I don't think I'd ever be able to play them... Makie thought with a giggle.

Her thoughts were broken when Ai had began to say how she should open a cafe and sell her sandwhiches. The brunette girl blushed. She blushed a deeper shade of red when Oliver began to eat more of her sandwhiches as well. She didn't think they were that good... Grandma and grandpa always liked them, but... They were her grandparents, they pretty much had to like what their grand-daughter had made. Makie always thought that was the case, and that her sandwhiches were just like any other sandwhiches... At least that's what she thought.

"W-Well... I-I-I doubt any one would c-come to the c-café... I-I mean I don't think p-people w-would like the sandwhiches..." Makie said softly, trailing off. "B-Besides... S-Sandwhiches a-are r-really the o-only thing I-I can make without having t-the recipe i-in front o-of me... A-Aside from salads..."

Hmm... I should really relax... I'm stuttering too much... Makie thought to herself, after Ai had gone silent after Makie's rant on how Ai should sing if she loved it soo much. But I can't help it, really... I just get so nervous when I hear myself talking... And especially since Oliver's here... I'm afraid to mess up! She was beginning to get even more nervous when she thought about it even more. The small brunette was happy when Ai had began to speak, because it had completely take her mind off of getting all nervous. The feeling was somewhat brushed off.

"Tee hee hee... I-I can't wait..! T-To hear y-you sing, that i-is..." She said quietly, but happily. When Ai sang it was like you could just fall asleep. Like a lullaby! Makie loved lullabys! They were so soft and sweet. They really helped you relax and go to sleep. It also helped when the singer is so into their song. It makes you feel happy. Just don't ask Makie to explain how she feels that way towards singers and their songs, she'll never be able to explain. She just likes the songs that singers put their heart into.

As Oliver began to reassure Makie about Misty's leaving, the brunette smiled softly. She was probably just over-reacting. She definately just wanted to get up and walk around. Yeah... She just wanted to see every thing the festival has to offer... Makie thought, frowning slightly. But I want to enjoy the Sakura festival with all my friends... Including Misty. Makie shook off the feeling, and smiled. She couldn't let anything bring her down today! Today she was supposed to be happy and have fun with her friends! There's no way she could let herself be unhappy! Besides... Misty is probably having fun herself, wherever she went.

"Err.. S-So... Wh-What d-do you want t-to do after we eat..?" Makie asked, before taking a bite from her jam sandwhich.

"Mm..." Rivera felt a little sick after feeling the presence, then letting it go. "I'm sorry... I can't sing, at all. My voice isn't even strong enough to speak without whispering... so it would be nearly impossible for me to sing..." She smiled sadly, "I think... that my second eldest sister, Raesekri, she used to sing as a priestess. It's a little strange that the priestess is usually the 'idol', but the singing channels energy to the gods and the gods gave her an especially sweet voice. Raesekri means Songbird, I think..." Rivera lifted her hand and held the hand that was over her shoulder, leaning against Kira. Why couldn't she have this sort of comfort when she was a child? Why did she have to wait so long? Rivera thought back... maybe, at one point, she felt this way towards Kai. Kai had treated her just like this... but... it had been a forbidden love between the street-urchin and the imperial princess. Neither of them even lifted a hint. Does Kai feel jealous...? Is she hurting him? Rivera didn't want to hurt either of them... Kai was good at hiding his feelings. He seems so cheerful on the outside, but maybe... perhaps he's crying on the inside...

Kira returned her grasp on his hand and lightly kissed her forehead. "Alright... I won't push you into singing..." He said quietly. "So... How many sisters did you have?" He asked quietly as he kept his arm around her. One of his wings had pressed against his back while the other was gently wrapped around Rivera. He still didn't know her whole past but he hoped to. Kai and Usagi had already revealed a secret about her that he feared he would end up telling one of these days. They had said if she knew what she was that she would shut herself away from most of society. He wondered about telling her but pushed the thought aside. I shouldn't tell her... Not after what Kai said... He thought quietly.
PostPosted: Sat Aug 19, 2006 9:05 am

Rivera lightly squeezed his hand. "I had two sisters. I was the family baby... but there were no boys in the family." She looked up, trying to remember snatches from the Aquarian Ages that she had regained. The book seemed to contain fragments of her lost memories, scattered within its pages. Only a few pages hold them and she often hit trapspell pages. It was a hard task to look for her past. "We were all named like Mum. My mother was Kilesekri, meaning silverbird or mourning dove... silver was our color of mourning, you see. Mirisekri, the whitebird... she's the crown princess and the oldest. Raesekri, the Songbird, was the high priestess before me. She is older than me. They were always a bit mean... but that's just because there's a 9 year difference between me and Rae, and a 14 year difference between me and Miri." Rivera looked away. She still felt guilty for keeping her darkest secret from Kira. All it did was eat at her from the inside out... yet still, she ignores it in hopes of forgetting it forever. "Our father, the Emperor... his name was Torasin, the Golden Eagle. It's been a tradition for the imperial family to be named after birds. It's a wonder they haven't run out of species..."

Wanting to change the subject, Rivera began to stand up. "Let's go look at the games! I've never seen any of those things before..."
