Thrie took a splash from one of the laser. His mecha's shield held out just long enough to survive the blast. Afterward, he deactivates it shield before it overheats and blow the reactor and make a hole in his mecha.
He looks around to determine what damage had been done from that bombardment. "Oh dear, thats not good..." he thought to himself.
He hears Griffin over the radio and replies "<>"
Thrie thought for a moment. "For pete sakes... who the bloody hell attacked us?... To have done such damage like this, this enemy must be a big one. I doubt planetary counter-attack would destroy it completely. Per say, if it even damaged it."
Thrie looks around to look at the damage again.
"<>"
As he waited for permission to attack, he brings the boosters to full power and hovered to Dragonfire's position to give cover if needed considering it was farthest from the base.

OOC: The ASDF does't have any N2 mines, and even if we did it would be unwise to try and use one. We'd be using it like a depth charge - firing blind and hoping that we take something in the splash. Over a populated city. *As soon as the overloaded craft shows up on sensors, it's trajectory is calculated as a free-fall attack on the ASDF. Lacking any means to deflect the craft, and having sustained too much damage to the weapons system to attempt to destroy the projectile, the systems cycle through possibilities for some way to minimize the resulting damage. Organic logic at it's best.* *The klaxons blare as the security core personelle orders people into the lowest levels. They begin to lockdown and hyperpressurize empty rooms so that it will better distribute an impact. The outside personelle are instructed to flood the projected target with crash foam, with orders to break the tanks to speed up the process, and to fly away (If possible) or head for the underground hanger (If not). The computer was meanwhile busy doing simulations and projections to determine how best to align the EM field to repulse the craft's field, and how it would affect the trajectory of the projectile.* OOC: The EM field is just an electromagnetic field. All it does is put a lot of interferance into the air that disrupts electronics and magic. It *can* be used to attract or repel objects, but the effects are very limited. It's not going to do much - if any - good against a falling chunk of metal. OOC: The EM field has no effect on lasers. It would do some serious damage to the resulting ion trail, but the ion trail is harmless anyway.

*One of the LAMs runs over to the downed pilots. Extending a hand down, it offers to help them into the cockpit. If the Ninjadude goes along, the mech will immediately go AS and get the hell out of dixie before the as-yet-unknown-and-possibly-a-giant-explosive-device makes contact. It will fly away until there is a confirmed impact, and then change it's course to the nearest hospital.*
OOC: If you need a name to thank, use "Captain Susan C. Chaucer".
OOC: By the by, I think I'm going to start naming the random NPCs. Just 'cause I can. xd

*Griffin turned her gaze to the techs*
Dont lose time!! charge it with nukes...I got an idea
*The Techs load the hardpoints of the VAF-9 with Nuclear missiles, while Griffin climbs, the Fighter extends it hand to Griffin and helps her climb to the cockpit, Griffin took her place in pilot seat and chcked her wound while transmiting a msg to the Tower*

TacCom: Negative! Do NOT engage with nuclear ordinance! Procede with prior orders! OOC: From the upper atmosphere, we're talking about a sum total of a 3-5 minute fall. Even if it only took two minutes to retrieve the missile from storage and load it, you'd still have to leave the bay, take aim, fire, and have time for it to travel to the projectile. Think of all the people who would be exposed to radiation directly from the explosion itself, the fallout, the jet stream, and the fact that Barton's only a short drive away. Splash damage can be a real b***h. :/ OOC: The crash-foam is stored litterally just inside the door on a several large tanker trucks. For a mech to run in, grab a tanker, run out, jump onto the base, break it open over the 'glowing spot' thier hud projects, and jump/fly away would take about a minute. The people in the base were already on alert because of the orb and such, and most people should be able to get several floors down in 3 minutes. OOC: Worse comes to worse, Rezes R Us gives us a bulk rate and we need to do a lot of rebuilding, but I wouldn't expect it to be as bad as you think; the ASDF is designed to withstand an orbital bombardment without serious problem, and a space ship is FAR less aerodynamic than a rail slug. xd

*Lindy's ears twitch at the sound of the alarms sounding off throughout the whole complex, she turns around and sees the LAM's grabbing the crash foam tankers and tearing them in half then throwing them everywhere around the base, while other LAM's were fleeing in squads and what fighter pilots could, where taking off as well. There were too many wounded to move them all to the nearest underground bunker so she acknowledged Griffin's advice*
<<"Roger AngelEyes, proceeding to evacuate everyone here into the VW goodluck to you and make sure you keep an eye on Thrie for me, I just know he will try being a hero, out">>
*With that said she turned back to the wounded and non-wounded and relayed the announcement to quickly get the wounded first onboard as she activated the loading bay doors to drop. Doing their best to stay calm they boarded the VW and secured the wounded down so they wont be rolling around when they take off. Lindy looks back to the hospital building remembering Iris was still down below, nothing she could do but hope the impact isnt enough to burrow down into the facility*
"You guys better be here when we get back..."
Down below in the underground labs-
*The doctors and nurses along with some patients were all huddled into the rooms waiting for whatever come their way, Iris sat in a corner holding her knees close to her while resting her forehead against her kneecaps*
"This is just a bad dream...I'll wake up soon enough in mommy's arms..."
Back at the Hangar-
*All preparations were done and the VW was ready to take off, Lindy ran up the ramp then hit the button to raise up the loading dock door and locked it once it was secured. She turned to everyone and smiled*
"Make sure the wounded are fastned down and you guys too, I dont want anyone bouncing around when we take off"
*Lindy ran down the corridor and into the cockpit then jumped into the seat and started up the engines. Slowly the VW's landing wheels turned as it pulled out of the hangar, the wings gleamed as the sun's rays hit them. The rapidly decending ship o' doom getting bigger and bigger with each passing minute. Rolling into a straight line with the runway, Lindy slowly pushed the thrust lever forward, once at a good speed she pulled the stick back and the VW took off from the ground and climbed then retracted the landing gear. Once at a good distance from the ground the VW turned Northeast and flew at maximum speed over the mountain ranges*

*Tanasha strides into the Tactical Command/Security Core, and heads straight for the landline. Picking it up and dialing a number, she waits for a good 10 seconds before the other end picks up. The members of her old unit in the room go about thier duties, while the new recruits turn to watch the odd sight of an officer making a phone call - obviously to a civilian, no less, as radio would be the preffered method for any non-civilians - in the middle of a crisis.*
Tanasha: Hello, this is Commander Tanasha of the ASDF. ... Yes, I have a special request. ... If you would be so kind as to look at the sky over the base you would see for yourself. ... ... ... We can discuss that later, rest assured you would be paid more than otherwise. ... ... Thank you, good bye. *click*
OOC: Rezzes R Us is considering casting a collective "Feather Fall" spell on the falling ship to slow it down and reduce the damage. Thier decision of weather to ask or not I leave in the hands of the player what did the dropping. xd
OOC: By the by, LAM = Land/Air Mech. They're mechs that transform into Aerospace fighters. 3nodding

Lindy_Knightstar (( sweatdrop Meh dun get the "Thier decision of weather to ask or not I leave in the hands of the player what did the dropping." part sweatdrop )) OOC: You get to pick for them. Do they help the ASDF for some as-yet unknown payment for something outside thier normal buisness practices, or do they let the ship crash and take a gamble on there being enough of a body count to make it more profitable? 3nodding OOC: It would be REALLY lame if I just waved my hands and made it go away (Mostly since our funding isn't defined yet, so it'd basicly be the same as free), so I'm giving you thier choice. You also decide how much good thier efforts would do.

Because the ASDF main base structure would do more damage to it than it could do to the ASDF, since they appear to be roughly the same class of ship, and the ASDF's armor and supports are pretty much fresh.

Thrie realizes that weapon will be of no use in this situation. Therefore he tossed away his heavy artillery rifle onto the ground. He flew back to the remaining hangars and assist the others in deploying crash foams in the designated spots, or what seems to be large area of the ASDF base.
He realizes the enemy ship was becoming closer and closer. There isnt 2 hour to prepare for the crash of such magnitude. Only a few minutes before a ship wipes out the entire surface area of this land mark.
He looks around trying to figure out what they could do to precent such a disaterous impact. He felt helpless for not being able to come up with anything helpful by now. His breathing became quicker as he starts to panic a bit, not from the fact that a freaking battleship size ship is able to crash into the base he had called home. But the fact that he could do nearly nothing to stop it from happening.
Thrie stutters "d-damnit!"
Hoping to keep himself in sanity, he waits for the LAM to finish their job and evacuates before passing the time of no return. From there, he left the hangars and fly over to a bus that was being loaded with the woundeds. He orders the LAM that was going to carry the bus to go for the ambulance at a nearby to a burning hangar.
Thrie presses the jettison button and ejected all weapon and other optional equipments to lose some weight. He then picks up the bus carefully and activated his mecha's boosters. The bus was probably around teh weight of his largest artillery rifle, but the bus has less hull integrity meaning it's more fragile and he'd have to handle it differently.
The bus and his mecha lifts off from the ground slowly. Increasing power to the boosters carefully and picks up speed flying away from the base with the bus loaded with woundeds.
"<>"
Not even paying attention, his hand quickly changed some settings on the command board to save the up the excess energy that the boosters arent eating up. He charged them into the batteries at the rear of the mecha and readies the shield emitters at the rear of the mecha.
