Hiei's eyes narrowed at the addition of their hostess. How could she expect them to trust her? "I'd rather not," he spat, a dare glimmering in his glare. "And as for your name, I don't give a damn."
As far as Hiei was concerned, if you're going to trap someone inside your demented castle then you shouldn't expect them to accept anything from you other than freedom. He would stay at that windowsill for weeks and starve before taking food from the woman.

"Starve, then. More food for Night and I," Kasai said, acting stubborn, much like a child would. She didn't care if they ate, but did want them comfortable.
But then she changed her approach just a bit.
"Ungrateful, that's what you are. I slave over a hot stove making you food, and then you refuse it." The demoness sighed, then feigned being hurt by his response. Her intent was to mimic the fox.

Kurama watched the two argue, but did not interfere just yet. The Koorime had essentially taken the words from his mouth, but voiced them in a more gruff manner.
As for the food, he was hungry... but he didn't trust the woman enough to eat anything she made. What if she had poisoned it? He didn't see her doing that, honestly, but it was a possibility.
The fox didn't understand why she generally tried to be nice. She altered Yukina and his mother's age, lured them here, trapped them in this enchanted castle, and then tried being nice. What was she getting at?
"Hiei, I think we should join her," the kitsune said, giving him a look that clearly said, 'Yes, I do have a reason for this, trust me.' He did not intend to eat, though. Changing his mind on this was not on his agenda.

Hiei's glare only grew colder at Kasai's behavior. But at Kurama's suggestion, he turned to the fox sharply, somewhat out of disbelief and annoyance. "Kurama, you can't possibly—" then he caught the meaningful expression. He sat still for a moment, eyes burning into Kurama's as he tried to understand what he could have in mind.
With a frustrated growl, the fire apparition rose from the windowsill. He didn't bother with the pillow.

A simple motion to follow was all Kasai gave before she began leading the way. She didn't care to talk now, they could do that later.

The fox waited patiently for Hiei to come with. They both did not trust her, so he wished for the fire apparition and himself to stay close. Conversation was something he didn't expect.
There were things he wished to inform him of, such as his plan, but Kasai would hear every word. If what she wanted was a secret she intended to keep, then Kasai might be more careful with her words. Though, he really didn't expect to gain anything from talking to her. It was the younger girl, Night, he was interested in. She seemed the type that might slip something.

Hiei followed, after a few more seconds of glaring. He tried catching Kurama's eyes to gain even the slightest hint of what his plan was. But he figured it wouldn't help anyway since they were in the company of their damned hostess and the brat.
As he was close to the fox, his arm brushed against his once more.

Hiei's attempts at meeting his eyes were successful, but from them he could learn nothing new. It was something that could only be said, not told by gestures. Maybe he would eventually catch on?
The red-head closed his eyes for a brief time, also breathing in a bit more deeply, savoring the slight touch. That kind of thing was rare, and now that he didn't feel in immediate danger, he could show his feelings on it more. Still, he disguised that reaction, making it seem more as if he were trying to calm himself.

((I know exactly how Kurama feels. ; ; That post made my heart melt.))
On the way, Hiei's glare faded. He now wore his infamous expression of alert boredom and followed a bit more loosely. His ears picked up a change in Kurama's breathing and he turned his head slightly to glance at the fox curiously.
Was he preparing himself for this plan of his? That thought made Hiei's body language shift as he walked. His arms turned so they were closer to his body and he was no longer walking loosely. Another glance at Kurama. Surely he wasn't going to do something rash, but Hiei had been proven wrong before.

((So do I... I think that's why I added that in. I tend to put my own emotions in certain things, so I have to be careful who I play as.))
"I will not do anything... rash, but my plan is simple. I only want to observe," he said, almost as if reading his thoughts. His words were not detailed enough for the psychic to figure, so he didn't have to worry much.
In the back of his mind, the fox almost hoped that this would loosen Hiei up again, letting them touch... but he knew that was pathetic. Such a thing was only by chance, and it held no meaning. If only that realization wouldn't hurt so much.
Luckily for him, his thoughts were interupted. The demoness had left the dining room door open, showing her guests the room's splendor. A long, elegant table, chandeliers, and chairs that completed the look. Not to mention the various other small decorations.
No doubt she was finishing dinner, since she was now nowhere to be seen. Unless this was yet another trap, and what slight trust he had in her was already too much.

((You do play Kurama quite perfectly. <3))
Well, that was quite on target. Hiei shouldn't have been surprised, though. By now he should know that the fox had gained a talent for guessing what the koorime was thinking based on simple observation.
He was relieved that Kurama hadn't somehow absorbed the detective's blind way of thinking. Strategic and calm as always. And Hiei was smart enough not to ask the fox to elaborate, or say anything himself that would alert the demoness.
Though when he detached himself from his thoughts and looked up, she was not with them. "Tch," Hiei scoffed. He would've proceeded into the detailed room, but he didn't want to hear any more nagging from the fox. So he waited.

((Thank you. <3 I'm glad endless practicing pays off.))
Now caught in his own thoughts, Kurama did not wait for the Koorime. He did not feel the need to wait for the females, so he merely had a seat.
Soon, he noticed that Hiei was not with him, and looked back and motioned for him to come with. He mentally chided himself for not paying attention. What if this /had/ been a trap? What if he got them both into a worse situation? And more importantly, why did his mind keep wandering back to the fire apparition?

Hiei had stared as Kurama continued into the room, as if he were wrapped in nebulous thoughts. He gave the fox a look that showed he was somewhat thrown off, but took a seat next to him anyway.
"And you were upset when I didn't wait?" he drawled, detaching from his former expression and now wearing one of masked uncertainty. His crimson eyes moved slowly around the room, taking in the elegance and design. He shifted in his chair slightly, though they were too far apart for more accidental contact.
At this point, he played with the idea of what the others were doing. He shook it off, wishing not to dwell on pointless things.

The kitsune hadn't thought of that. He wasn't necessarily being hypocritical, since his body seemed to have done it of it's own accord. Since Hiei noticed the mistake enough to mention it, it must have been obvious. Or maybe the demon just enjoyed picking him apart.
"This is... different. I thought you would be at my side," was the slightly delayed response. It was true. Normally, he wouldn't just walk into possible danger, but he felt safer around Hiei. If they stayed together, both would benefit, each watching the other's back. Except when Kurama's thoughts nagged him, not letting him pay attention to the important things.

"Well," Hiei said, more to cover that he was confused about the flicker of emotion he'd detected in the fox's expression. "just know that though I am usually at your side, you should give me the credit I deserve. I did not wait because of your flighty inability to believe that I can't take care of myself, but because I actually felt caution would be wise."
Okay. So maybe he wasn't just covering his confusion. He would feel silly if Kurama knew he was actually taking to mind his worry.
He leaned back boredly into the chair and decided he might as well try get comfortable. But if he had to wait two more minutes he would leave the dining room.
