C r a y o l a It just occurred to me right now...
When Sakura had asked him if he remembered the first time he called her annoying (it was around the first few episodes), Sasuke had said he didn't. Was I the only one who felt that when he said "You really are annoying." (or something along the lines), that it was his way of saying that he really did remember? When Sakura asked him if he remembered, he gave a little pause, before saying, "I don't remember." That's what really made me think that he did remember. But now that you mention it, I guess it was saying underneath the underneath that he did remember.
I'm not sure what the significance of him remembering that particular day is, though. That was when Sakura was still in her "middle school bully" phase, as Anti-Sakura-ers would put it.

Most people on focus on Sasuke being an EMO biatch or stupid or blah blah blah but that little moment when he calls her annoying is saying YES HE DID remember. Why was that day important? It was when she realized she was being rude to Naruto and that Sasuke was a real person, not someone to fangirl over. So I think his little thank you, and him calling her annoying was his own little way of awknowledging her and saying goodbye.

I think he said he didn't remember when he did to protect her. :3 He wants to break his bonds, but with Sakura it's hard to. Especially when she's got cold hard facts for him not to leave. Anyways.... I might re-watch it after all, you can never be too sure with moments so dear. >> << There might be hidden meanings, ya know? Anyways, I can't wait until the dubbed gets that far. I want to see how they do with it. Plus, I wanna hear sasuke's hawtish voice say those two words.. heart _ heart

Yes. I've never heard anyone say "Arigato" in a voice than can make me melt into a puddle o' goo, until Sasuke did. That Noriaki Sugiyama (Sasuke's VA) is one heck of a guy.
Anyway, I get so emotional about that episode that it's hard for me to analyze all of it. I watch it over and over again to get that emotional kick. And to get inspired for my fics.

k, that episode is sooo sad =( yan & when Sasuke said "Thank you", I just broke down in tears! I seriously haven't cried that at almost any anime episode like that I still cry, it's so sad. And I agree, there are hidden moments in that episode, you just gotta look for them. That's like all their moments, they might not look like much, but you gotta go deep to find their true meaning =)
