Hendersonville is on Hwy 64 in the mountains, kind of south of Asheville & not far from Chimney Rock. Henderson is the one on I-85 up north of Durham not far from the state line.

I'm in Hickory. Born in Lenoir. Spent most of my childhood in Newton/Conover. Started highschool in Enka. Moved to Hendersonville (the best place I've ever lived) October of freshman year. Now I'm starting junior year at ******** Hickory High. Joy.
I'm actually in that little spot of dirt between Hickory and Longview that neither town really seems to want to claim. If you know where the Corning building is, I live on the street that runs between it and Jack in the Box.

I go through Hickory a lot on my way out to the mountains. I buy gas at the Sam's Club, maybe stretch my legs at Hamrick's or AC Moore's.

You're close to the Zoo & Seagrove, though. Those are cool places. biggrin And Asheboro looks a lot bigger than I remember it from a few years ago. If your area is growing instead of stagnating, that's great! Must be a few jobs around there, huh?

Haven't been here in a few years, despite being a guild moderator or some such nonsense, hyuk hyuk. How's everyone doing?
To stay true to the post, I'm still in Winston Salem, NC.

MaxDuo Well out of curiosity... we have this smile And I dunno if SC is split into regions so I just turned it into North and South hehe... And humorously I can't remember what the middle part of NC is called, despite living in it. I know it meant something like "rolling hills" though.........eh. South Carolina is divided into regions. You have The Piedmont/Upstate Region which includes Greenville, Spartanburg, Pickens, Saluda, Anderson, Edgefield, Oconee, Gaffney, Union, Chester, Cherokee, Greenwood, Laurens, and McCormick counties. The Upstate Region is so named for being in the foothills, the Northwestern tip of South Carolina. From there you have the Midlands Region aka the Sandhills consisting of: Newberry, Richland(Columbia), Lexington, Fairfield, Sumter, Lee, Kershaw, Calhoun, Orangeburg, Bamberg, Aiken, Barnwell, Allendale, Lancaster, York, and Clarendon counties. It is so named the Sandhills, because at one point waaaaay back in history, it used to be the beach. Namely, the Atlantic Ocean used to come up a lot further north. To this day, there is quite a bit of sand in these regions. People even on occasion find fossils and sharkteeth in these regions. From there you have the Pee Dee Region, so named for the Pee Dee River and located in the northeast. These consist of: Chesterfield, Horry, Marion, Florence, Wiliamsburg, Marlboro, and Dillion counties. Horry County is actually where Myrtle Beach is located. Finally, you have the Low Country. Georgetown, Berkeley, Charleston, Dorchester, Colleton, Hampton, Jasper, and Beaufort counties. You all should know Charleston. Very historic and although not quite as popular as Myrtle Beach, still a huuuuuge tourist industry there. Beaufort County is most well known for Hilton Head Island where golfing is really big. Tiger Woods is a regular to Hilton Head and if I am not mistaken some of the PGA Masters Tournaments are held there on occasion. I'm not a golfer, nor a big fan though, so correct me if I'm wrong. So there you have it. All the regions/sections of South Carolina and their respective counties.

On and by the way, I noticed from the Poll that most of you are from North Carolina. I'm adding another to South Carolina and as soon as I can get the rest of my South Carolina Gaian friends to join, we might be able to even things up a little bit.
I'm from beautiful Greenville, South Carolina, but I've traveled the entire state. I'm a huge fan of Myrtle Beach, but I also love Charleston just as much. I can tell you pretty much anything you might want to know about South Carolina as well, more about the upstate region of course, but I have been in every single county in South Carolina.
I'm also a big history nut too, more especially regarding Military History. Revolutionary War and Civil War both began in South Carolina at the famous Fort Sumter.
As for football, I know I will get hell for this, but I am a big Carolina Gamecocks fan. My blood bleeds red like a normal person and even though Carolina has lost a few games, how could I ever root for a team who's mascot is a tiger, but their colors are orange and purple??? And have you heard their battle cry during their games? Its not even the roar of a tiger, but the screech of a wildcat or a cougar.
That being said though, I know I'll be hearing all the "chicken" jokes about Carolina. So bring 'em on. Lol. Its all in good fun anyways.
