i have to agree.. initative would make this crawling game almost a bigger standstill than it is razz
i had a Gm once that aid.. even if we roll initaitive if i ask you ahat your doing..a dn you cant aswer right away.. im goign to skip you anyways..
harsh
but it made the games alot more fluid

IlenaWhitethorn I was actually assuming that we'd stay out of actual initiative rolls, as that would further slow our progress in the game, waiting for whoever's turn it was to act and then for BOWP to respond to them. I'm assuming that each player will say what they're doing, then the GM and her characters will respond. I'm also assuming that we'll move into more fluid freeform-type RP once we're out of this initial combat and have a chance to talk to each other. Megan probably won't hang around long, though, as I RPed her being late for dinner, so she'll grab up her bike and backpack and hightail it home before she gets in trouble. (Though, she'll get in trouble anyway, but all that will come out in RP.) Clearly we'll go into more free form RP outside of combat. As for Megan being late, who knows, maybe Candace will give her a ride. Well, the game wasn't designed for forum RP. I can certainly see handling things differently. We should discuss handlings of such things as a group I suppose. We should probably establish some rule about initiative, and we act, then the NPCs is clearly favorable to us. Maybe the people who initiated combat should get the initiative every turn. Who knows; it makes slightly less sense after the first round of combat, but it keeps for things moving faster, hopefully, and I can't argue with that. What about NPCs? Typically GM would handle it, but sometimes it might be easier for, random NPCs like... a waitress at a resturaunt we happen to go or something... just being run by a player than BOWP. I think mostly unimportant scenery NPCs ... we might as well control sometimes, right? Opinions? Bagel san well i can resolve my attacks very easily for you they didnt knw i was there.. so they dont get there defensive roll razz i onlt attacked to dissarm them..so three of them just got thier uzi's shot halfway across the bank at least i woudl think so you cant defend from what you dont know is coming razz thats why my element of surprise was imparative.. i wanted to get in as many free shots as i could razz Oh, right, surprised characters get no defense roll. Silly me. Well, we're still waiting for two other things.

well thats lame, i thik she over extends herself anyways from what i understand shes in 3 or four games here and a bunch of other guilds
im debating starting a freeform rp with a besm as a framework , no rolls, no rule checks..and everyone can control npcs within reaons.. it ameks for a better flow and gives people a chance to play if the designated gm is offline not to mention the creativity of 4-5 people tends to produce funner results than just one persons vision razz

Well, I'm in a freeform RP thread that I play Megan in, but it's not based on any character build. It would probably be cool to have a freeform RP with a base that you can judge your character's abilities by.

Not that it has a name, but it's an idea I've had multiple players enjoy.
