You know what else I hate. I'm tired of Space Marines getting killed like they do in the books. It's just dumb. Secondly I wish spaces marines would stop out numbering the things they are fighting. In all the books I read the Space Marines outnumber enemies more powerful then them. I hate that, Space Marines are supposed to be more powerful then nearly anyone they fight. I want to hear tales of them being outnumbered. I mean not just 3 to 1 when I think of space marines I think of 10 to 1 if not more.
Oh and the Phase, "…decapitating Space Marines with every blow.", SHOULD NEVER UNDER ANY CIRUMSTANCES APPEAR IN A WARHAMMER 40K BOOK! Yet it does.
I want Space Marines to act the way they portrayed them when I first started Warhammer 40k. Unbeatable, unstoppable, and scary. I’m tired of aliens not being afraid of space marines. The Space…
Snap, I’m getting a rant started. I might as well stop now.

Granted it's not about Imperial Space marines, but it does show how the Night Lord lead character overcomes and refuses to give into Chaos taint unlike the rest of the legion did.

But you have to remeber that that was Words of Blood where the culitist where deicated to Khorne and the Marines were using that to their advantage with the strategy they used to defeat them

I'm really finding the Horus Hersey books interesting. I like how it show how different the Imperium was when the Emperor and Primarchs walked amoug the people. And how the Legions were run, used and that not all the Astates in the traitor leigons turned against the Imperium and died for their faith in the Emperor. What I really like about it is how the idea that the Emperor is a god was started, even though he wanted a united humanity that didn't believe in gods, magic, or the like and focuse on sciene and galactic conquest.

In the end it all comes back to being fluff and what the writer wants to tell in that story. There are several stories in 'Let the Galaxy Burn' where numbers do factor into them, but just remember, it's all fluff in tne end

So I just got done reading storm of Iron. And wow, I must say that the strategic Explanations of Seige warfare were amazing. And it Really Depicts just how large scale a Chaos space marine legion is. But I still can't get over the strategic brilliance of this book. I give it 5 stars. mrgreen

Well 4,000 normal humans against 30 Space Marines. Think about that in terms of fluff and not table top. If you are fighting a Space Marine what can you do to hurt him? Punch him, that wouldn't work. Stab him? Through all that power armor not likely. When ever they talk about Chaos Space Marines it seems lasguns don't hurt them at all. The book Iron hands, when the guardsmen encounter Death Guard their lasguns just bounce of their armor without slowing them down at all. I mean with 4,000 you can only have some many at once, and space marines are not just super human warriors but they are also supposed to be very advanced in tactics. Plus how many would they kill with their bolters? Think about it each one holds 30 rounds, and let says each space marine has 6-7 clips. How many .75 rounds does it take to kill a human? Plus in those numbers they could probably kill more then 1 with every other shot.
So 30 times 7
210
210 x 30 = 6,300 bolter shells.
Also unlike on the Table Top Space Marines are perfect Marksmen, and can carry different kinds of rounds for their bolters. Stalker rounds, Inferno Rounds, or my favorite cultist stacker the Metal Storm frag Shell.
Thats also not counting if some of them have Heavy Bolters, and frag grenades.
Okay so after these cultist run through all the rapid fire death the Space Marines dish out they get in close combat. Now what, the space marines and rip a man limb from limb, or punch a hole through his chest. That is why 30 Space Marines would have a good chance at winning against those kind of odds. Thats how it supposed to be. (Sorry for spelling and stuff, I'm really tired and have the flu right now)
