So, the Prey demo is now up on XBox live, finally. Ive been waiting on this game for a long time, because back in the previews I heard it was steeped in Native American history.
The single-player was choppy at times, and it seemed that not only was the framerate dropping but the anti-aliasing was dropping too. This game is based on the Doom3 engine, but it looks like its being tweaked for the 360. At least, thats what I hope is going on. If they release the game like this, well boo on them because it doesnt work. Anyway, I did notice that the backgrounds looked far better than the onscreen characters. Somebody needs to learn how to code pixel shaders.
As far as the story goes, it was wrong, bad wrong. It was steeped in Native American stereotypes, as if the writers had watched several bad westerns before making the game. Casinos, fire water, liking "the outside world" more than the Res, forgetting The Old Ways, can I get anymore insults? ******** you must get this game, which I must because of the multi-player possibilities, get it on PC.

Currently? You REALLY aren't missing much. Creative's in one of its worst derths I've seen since the mid-90's days of The Goon and Doink the Clown.
