I love Hidan! *points to everyone* I have no idea why, but he's my favorite. Even if he is stuck in a million pieces under some rocks. He's still awesome.

It totally blows away my theory with him (while I'll post here anyway), but who knows? Maybe he'll come back out. I mean.. he really isn't dead, after all XD

You can all laugh at me if you want, but this was my theory before Hidan got exploded.

Okay, this was a theory I have been concoting for a while, and then it shot off with some things that Tenshi Sakura told me the other day. She is a genius, so you will all bow down to her since she force fed this theory into development beyond an idea.

Hidan's Betrayal Theory

While reading throughout the Naruto manga, we were given a chapter of Hidan mouthing off to the Akatsuki leader. This went on throughout the entire chapter. We were given information on Akatsuki's goals through this, but at the same time, we were given Hidan's disdain for the goals of Akatsuki. We found out he didn't agree with what they were fighting for (a love of money and power), and that he holds no true loyalty to the group (as he does not plan on giving them his all). Hidan showed his distrust of the leader and the organization as a whole.

The point in getting the Jinchurriki is to implant htem into the members of Akatsuki, and they will therefore become 'gods', in a sense. What does Hidan gain in this if he follows a god and is already 'immortal'?

My point being, I don't see Hidan sticking around with Akatsuki. It seems like he's on the verge already of betraying or leaving the organization at any moment now.

And if he were to do this, how do you think he would do it?

.... By giving out information on Akatsuki. He knows the members. He knows they're power, he knows they're goals, and he in turn knows their weaknesses and where to find them. If he doesn't agree with what they're fighting for or trust them himself (and seeing as if he runs off, I'm sure they'll hunt him down), what would be better than to betray them and help create a counterattack?

And to be honest, there are two ways I can see this happening. First I'll go with the one that Tenshi said:

He gives information to Naruto and Sakura to where they can find Itachi. Finding Itachi, in turn, leads them to Sasuke. And to ensure trust (considering he did, after all, kill Asuma), he promises to fight with him and offer them help with the rest of the organization, as long as they let him go afterward instead of bringing him to Konohagakure to jail him.

And the best part is, he may also have information on Orochimaru. He may be the second newest member next to Tobi, but it's possible that he has been there since Orochimaru left (if Deidara was already a member, and only took his place as Sasori's partner after Orochimaru left). It is also possible that if that is not the case, he was given information on Orochimaru as a future goal of attack-- after all, they can't let someone who knows Akatsuki's goals to live for too long, now can they? And Orochimaru's goal is immortality, which Hidan supposedly has. Knowning about Orochimaru leads them to Sasuke.

He's the perfect trump card.

Another way I can see this ending is having Hidan go directly to Tsunade. I'm sure, as an S-Class Nin, he can sneak his way into the village. Itachi and Kisame were capable of it. I can see him appearing directly in Tsunade's office, and before she has a chance to call ANBU in, he stops her.

"You don't need those f***ing ANBU. I have a proposal for you. You want to get rid of Akatsuki, so trust me for a god damn minute and listen to what I have to say."

Or something along those lines. He gets Tsunade's attention and she tells him he has ten minutes and to sit. He gives her all the information she wants, as well as his reasons for helping. I think that after a lot of consideration and dilberation she'll end up agreeing and place him, in turn, in a safe house of some sort where he is monitored by none other than a group of ANBU lead by Shikamaru (he understands Hidan's ability to attack, so I can see her uping Shikamaru to the position of ANBU captain for this reason).

Again, the whole point is, I see Hidan betraying Akatsuki. He seems like he's going to lead a larger role than what we've been thinking so far.

I could see how your theory would work, if he wasn't buried alive.

But if Hidan godmods and somehow escapes, then it will seriously kill Naruto. D: I never liked Hidan, still hate him, and am quite happy with his place six feet under. :D -shot-

Akamaru is the Akatsuki leader

In some cases on fandom,people have noticed the simalarity between the mysterious Akatsuki leader and our "lovable" doggy,Akamaru. Why? you ask? How? You ask? I do not know.I'm just reporting the crack.

Some fans argue, that Akamaru is the most capable option for being the said "Akatsuki Leader" for they see the perky spirit in the leader as well as the shape-shifting dog.

These cases have been dissmissed as CRACK!

I've been thinking lately...
Since I saw the latest episode of Naruto, I can't help it but wondered if the third Kazekage is the Akatsuki leader. The sand council said that he got kidnapped and disappeared, and maybe it's just me but the third kazekage statue looks similar to the Leader's form.
