Sasuke's eyes widened as Akamaru kicked away his precious...sacred...tomato.
"A-ahh!" the boy yelped as he quickly reached out and caught the tomato right before it reached the filty cafeteria floor.
Sasuke grinned in triumph. Thank God for fast reflexes.
The boy pulled up his hand and scanned the food item in it. It was safe, and still perfetly edible. Yay!
He glared at Kiba, "Tell it to be careful next time! He almost ruined my tomato, and then my mother would've packed it for nothing."
He looked over at Akamaru, and his glare fell. Sasuke had a secret liking to dogs, and so he couldn't stay mad forever.
"I mean..." he continued, in a less angry tone, as if to apologize. "Just...I know it was an accident, but if it were some other food, it could've been messy."

Apparently while Lee was so caught up in his little world that he didn't notice Neji and Tenten starting another conversation between each other.
"So how many jutsus did you learn so far?" asked Neji as he looked toward Tenten. His tone was slightly on the cheery side, but still had a calm tone to it.
"Only a few, but right now I'm more into perfecting my kunai and shuriken skills."
"I'm having a bit of trouble with kunai. I always seem to hit the target a centimeter to the left," Neji stated, a barely-visible blush of embarrasment on his cheeks.
"How about I come over afterschool to help you? I'm pretty good with kunai so far...umm if you want me too." A faint pink was also on her cheeks as she muttered the last few words.
"...Umm I'd like that."

Akamaru woofed.
Kiba just nodded. "Confclict resolved then. You still have a question to answer... what was your name... Sasuke?"
Kiba used no honorifics whatsoever on the boy's name.

meanwhile Ino was in the bathroom...
I have to make a move on Sasuke-kun! but how???....
Ah! i have an idea!
She tried to sneak to the lunch tables without anybody noticing her but Sakura saw her and waved to her.
shucks. maybe i'll try to get to Sasuke-kun later.

He was pretty sure that the boy was Kiba. After al he had classes with him the year before...and if not, he had seen him somewhere else. Hm...
Sasuke snapped back to reality. "What was your question again?" "Yeah, I'm Inuzuka Kiba." He paused, and looked at Sasuke with a look that questioned the boy's intelligence. "Akamaru said he was wonderering why you weren't eating. Didn't you hear him?"

Sasuke looked at Akamaru, blinked, then looked at Kiba as if he were crazy. Wait, no.....Kiba WAS crazy.
But, he didn't want to be MEAN, so he shrugged, and scanned over his food. "I'm just a slow eater, that's all."
Actually, that was a lie. He was a fast eater...however, his mother had gone out of her way to make a HUGE breakfast for the entire family, and he had eaten his full then.

Kiba grunted softly. "What's with that look? Everyone I know can understand dogs. My whole clan. Everyone can, right? Maybe you're just some sort of..." Kiba considered saying 'freak' but that wasn't terribly nice to the boy. Then again, word were just words. "...weirdo." he finished finally.
Akamaru made a soft 'gruff' sounds, and then barked and yipped for several moments more, while Kiba looked at him, contimplation what he had said. "Is it a clan thing? I didn't think so. If it is, that's a shame. You guys have so much to say." He grinned at the puppy toothily.

Sasuke raised an eyebrow. "Well, nobody I know can talk to dogs...all I ever here is when they bark or cry."
And HE was the weirdo?! Certainly not....in fact, Sasuke was pretty sure that was Kiba who was the weirdo.

Kiba frowned. "That's a shame. Maybe it is a clan thing. See, other than school, I don't really know people outside my clan. Big family, you see. And the dogs are like extra kids, so you always have somebody to wrestle with." He grinned happily. "But I do like commin' to school sometimes. It's quiet here." The dog-boy noted this as there were several loud screams from one end of the room, someone had exploded a chip bag. "You?"
Akamaru sat quietly, as if to listen. Like his human brother, he had finished all the food in a short ammount of time.

Sasuke raised an eyebrow. It was quiet here? Tch...only in CLASS it was...sometimes. But the boy figured that maybe it was just REALLY loud at Kiba's house, and so comparing it to the Academy, maybe it was quieter here. But in Sasuke's family's case...the Academy was quite loud.
"I guess school's okay," he Sasuke said after swallowing the last of his riceballs. "But it's boring, really. I know almost all the answers...it's too easy. But maybe that's a good thing."
He took a sip of his drink and looked outside of the cafeteria windows. "I come here because I wanna be strong like my brother."

"Hmm. Really?" Kiba tilted his head at the raven-haired boy. "I have a big sister, she's taking the Chuunin exam in a few weeks. She want to be an ANBU and a vet. What's your brother like? Is he already a ninja, then?"
Akamaru sat quietly. listening. The lunch bell would ring in a bit, so the pup was anxious to get back to class. Shuriken-throwing was next, and Akamaru always had fun scaring the teacher.
(It IS really loud at Kiba's house. XDDD)

Sasuke slowly began listening to Kiba with interest. He wasn't surprised that someone in Kiba's family wanted to be a vet; Kiba liked dogs, right? And according to the other boy, they could even understand them! Sasuke was still a little iffy on that one, but it didn't matter...
His head perked up when Kiba asked about his brother. "Ya'ever heard of Uchiha Itachi? That's him," he started. "He's older than me, but not by too much, and he's already ANBU." The statement made Sasuke both proud and intimidated. After all Itachi was good at everything.
"He's good at just about everything, but he's mean sometimes," he pouted. "When I ask him to teach me something, he pokes me on the head really heard and says, 'Maybe next time, Sasuke,'" he said, making his voice sound older when quoting his brother. Itachi did it ALL OF THE TIME....and it was annoying.
"That's why I have to get stronger than him!" Sasuke continued. "Because when I do, he's gonna say, 'Hey, Sasuke, teach me something cool!' And ya know what? I'm gonna poke him real hard in the head and tell him, 'Maybe next time, nii-san!'"

Kiba laughed with a grin. "Can't say I've heard of him, but, again, I really don't know too many people outside my family..." Kiba thought for a moment. "If he pokes you on the forehead, next time he does it, jump a little, and catch your finger in your teeth. It's a win-win thing to do. He doesn't hit you, and you have his finger."
Obviously Kiba had absolutely no idea how fast Itachi was.
Akamaru just listened with interest.

Sasuke's eye's widened at the thought of Kiba's idea. A win-win situation...was it really?
To Sasuke, a young boy who just wanted to get back at his brother, it sounded pretty cool!
For Sasuke, the young boy who wanted to be loved in his family, thought that it was perfect way to get scolded.
"That sounds fun," Sasuke said, "But wouldn't that get me in trouble?"
