Delighted, Rojiza nods to the woman and extracts sixty couplets out of her seventy. Feeling generous, she adds an extra one with a friendly smile. They really are lovely birds. She strokes her new friend's crest again, feeling its soft feathers against her finger. She wonders whether it's a boy or a girl, but can't figure out an appropriate gesture. Struck by inspiration, she kneels down and doodles in the sand--a little girl with a dress and a stick-figure boy. She draws a question mark below and points again to the Banya.

Silver froze when Kidra started speaking about Ametra. It was a name that she had not heard in many, many months. "Ametra..." Indeed, she had been one of their own. She had left long ago and no one knew where she had gone, as far as Silver knew. The fact that someone had seen her, spoken to her, made Silver feel a great deal better. An image instantly came to Silver's mind of a woman smiling happily, carrying a persian rug back to her wagon, and then another image, one of a beautiful deer fortunette that was never far from his mother's side. "Could it be...?" Silver's eyes widened as Stefan stepped from behind Kidra's wagon. "Stefan!" Khevashi fluttered over to his sister's shoulder as Silver walked forward slowly so as not to startle the deer. "It's so good to see you," she said as she gently stroked the top of his head. "We've missed you, you know." She bent down and hugged his neck, carefully avoiding his antlers, which had grown quite a bit since Silver last saw him. She stepped back, a broad smile on her face. "Thank you so much, Kidra. Our family will be grateful to hear that his mother is safe and just as glad to see him as I am." She laughed. "What a pleasant surprise!" She bowed her head to the other woman. "Now, if you'll excuse me, I'll take him to Valelldia right away. Thank you again, my friend!"
Silver looked around for Valelldia and soon spotted her within the crowd of other gypsies. She walked up behind the woman and tapped her on the shoulder. "Excuse me, Val... I believe I have someone you'd like to see."

Gwynna smiled at the other women, but before she could make an offer for any of the birds, it seemed they were all spoken for. Or.. signed for, in the case of the squirrellish child. She hung back a little, a tad disappointed. Ah well, there would be other opportunities.

The young gypsy continued to beam with pride as the Esperita complimented Tafari once more, although her expression soon damped as the elder woman mentioned gifts from the meji. Gifts from the meji? Should I know about that? She’s going to think I’m a bad gypsy isn’t she, Mirela panicked, searching her mind for any mention of gifts from the meji. Unfortunately she came up with nothing.
“I…I don’t know” Mirela replied softly, clearly embarrassed, “should he have any?”.

When the wagons stopped Voltaire just sat in his seat just watching everyone. His expression was hard to read as he was neither smiling nor frowning it was just neutral. He didn't seem annoyed at the stop as much as he was just tired in general. The man was still resting up.
Suddenly the door to the back of the wagon burst open and Annjette wandered down the steps and she then moved toward the front where Voltaire was tilting her head, "Come, papa, we should join with the others," she said to him with no greeting or question to her tone. Annjette took the reigns from Voltaire's hand and then took one of his wrists and tugged, "Sitting here and doing nothing is no fun."
Voltaire laughed lightly, and now he smilled letting her take the reigns and set them aside. Voltaire got up, humoring his daughter, "Alright, alright, I'm up now, see?"

Sizzla ((I didn't think they'd get so popular so quickly! xd )) Irina listened carefully as Cerces described the birds, and she waited to see if anyone else would be willing to pay more. Should she forget about haggling and give her the sixty couplets? The banya was awfully nice, she thought looking down at Kal, who was seemingly staring at the green and purple bird.
"Oh, I'll go ahead and just give you the entire sixty," she said, pulling the couplets from her coin purse. "I'm sure you can use the money as much as I can." She handed the money over, giving the girl a smile. "Plus, I think Kal's become attached." "Thank you!" Cerces grinned, taking the couplets and passing over the Lilas. "I hope you enjoy him." ((Yay, Sizz was quick enough... ^___^)) heart

Edit Altaira's heart skipped a beat, a little disappointed. But Rojiza had chosen the Peachy bird as well and offered first. Such was the way of trading and she'd not try to outbid a fellow gypsy of her wagontrain. The third bird...could be trouble but it was a cross and intrigued her. A mix. Hmm. It was rather pretty and any fortunes to be had would help. Even if it was bad tempered she was sure she'd grow fond of it too. "Could I perhaps buy the third Banya, the mix, please. The full 70." Manners forgotton, she asked before anyone else could enquire about it's purchase. ((Note: that is nice of you, but it's first offer of money, first serve, really. ^_^)) "Certainly. Here you are. All yours." The bird was passed over to its new owner, and money was taken from Altaira.

"Oh, the Peach? He's a he."

Val turned, a smile on her face, waiting to be introduced to whoever Silver's new friend was... but the words stalled in her throat as soon as she saw the creature alongside the gypsy. His antlers had grown, and he looked... cautious, maybe even afraid- but still, so regal and statuesque. It could be no other than the child they had lost. "Oh, Silver... however did you get him?" Val reached down and wrapped her arms about his neck, welcoming the Fortunette home.

And then, she saw a longhaired, fiery redheaded gypsy standing near where Cerces had just disposed of her flock. "Greetings, friend," the gypsy said- a more genial greeting than the one she'd given Silver. "You're standing all alone, over here. Are you quite alright? ...Oh, where are my manners? I am Kidra."

I just saw that glorious coat, and figured that there was something special about him." Esperita glanced at the magnificent horse for a spell longer, then nodded her head resolutely- as if she'd decided something. "Actually, yes. I am assured that he is meant to. Would you mind if I gave your son a gift, my sister?"

"Good. ...I wish I had more to tell you of the Great Rift- that was what the war was called. But it's just been so long since I've had to think on it. Perhaps you can keep your eyes and ears open for information on it."

Meanwhile, Leax had been standing next to Lorelei- as if to claim her. And his words were still sweet.
"I have hopes that our wagons will stay together for a while. It's been a long time since I've come across such a wonderful woman. It would be a shame to say goodbye to you... so fast. Especially since I would recall your face for so much longer."

One gypsy from the opposite caravan had been sitting near her wagon all the while, almost unnoticeable as she sat, dawdling in the shadow of Blue Dawn, her home within the caravan. She had not been purposefully watching the man who stalled atop his wagonseat- but rather, thought that her eyes were merely tired and that there was nowhere else to look but to that point. She did not realize until the girl came from the back of the wagon- that there had been a very definite reason for her focus upon that point. The woman stood- awkwardly, for her legs were that of a bird's- and it was difficult to walk upon her talons. Their sight would be mostly covered by swaths of black material, but it was difficult to walk, nonetheless, as she hobbled forward to the man and his daughter. "I am sorry... to come upon you like this," the woman said. Her voice was high and raspy, as if she had not spoken for weeks, and her face was mostly covered by a hood. Only a few gold and black feathers could be seen... and the protrusion of a golden beak, marred with black marks and swirls. "I... am sorry," she said again, "But would you be... Annjette?"
