They're hard to play, but if built and played right, they can be pretty bad a**. They're a jack of all trades. They don't excell in any one thing, but they don't suck in any one either. They can solo better than any other single class. The main thing is, you have to know how to play a bard well. You have to know how to build him, and how to play him, or he will get his butt kicked.

lol Though, I think a bard would help out the party at least a little bit. He could be the party's speaker and also aid us during battle with his music smile

Well... I find the bard class lacking. I've played high level bards, and the music is next to useless until you get up into really high levels, and the spells suck until you are really high level. I played a bard just so I could have experiance in every class, and I played him how you have to in order to not die right off, and I got bored LOL. If you are totally fine only being support, then the bard class is definitely for you. Me... I'm rather blood thirsty and can't stay in the back.
However... that was a very very funny joke about the kobold.
Dwayna, just turn in your character, there are only 2 spots left!

Check out the bard prestige class Seeker of the Song in the Complete Arcane... There's uses of bardic music that can shoot rays that do up to 15d6 points of sonic damage without ending the song... eek Also the ability to heal wounds (restores HP = perform check result) and have two different types of bardic or seeker music active at the same time.

Rangers and Rogues are more useful (in my opinion) and are jack of all trades.... Rangers are good as scouts, melee, ranged, and can cast magic spells. While rogues have a superior skill selection (skill ranks/level) can do pretty good damage if they're in a good position plus they're very useful when you don't want to die by a simple trap ;p
