From 10 to 00??? Good thing your ear didn't rip... Damn, that's really not advised for anyone, that surly caused scar tissue which means closing it is gonna be a really big problem.
Damn, that sounds really painful. sweatdrop

ashcaitiff I have stretched both of my lobes to a 00g, I used an acrylic claw taper thing... I stongly reccomend stretching it slowly unlike what I did... One I stretched from a 10g to a 00g all at once, it hurts so bad, and a lot of blood... I know that you don't appreciate at home piercings but I have my own piercing shop so all of mine are home done... One thing about strecthings is that they stink lol it's kinda gross... sweatdrop Wow, that's incredibly wreckless and dangerous. When you decide to stretch down, which, I don't care what you say one day you will. In all likelihood you will develop a situation often referred to as 'a**l ear'. Instead of closing your ear will fold...which will look something like the name suggests..... sweatdrop Also, it shouldn't smell. I have 5/8th and they do not smell. If you keep them clean like you are supposed to they will not smell. The reason that yours do smell is the cause of a mild infection that will clear up in a few days of proper treatment. I would do some research on the subject if I were you. I know that the deed has been done but it seems like you know very little on the subject.

They smell because you body is sloughing off extra oil and dead skin. So it's basically skin cells decaying. The bigger the hole, the larger the surface area makes a more distinct.. stink lol. So yea, just clean them. I personally use silicon eyelets for my 2 ga's, and that's greatly reduced any smell as compared to metal or acrylic(which is like the mother of stink lol).

I have just standard earring-y holes right now, but I want to do the bottom to like, an 8g. Perhaps a 6g. I think I'll get plugs...
Tonight, I intend on showing my mother the actual sizes of the gauges that I'd like to get done and see how she feels about it. I'm a bit worried, because she's pretty much told me the only thing else I can get done (until I move out)is my bellybutton.
-shrug- However, I think she has misconceptions about how large the holes actually are. 8g and 6g are not so large. So, what do you all reccomend for what to do with my ears?
Oh, and on the subject of parents and acceptance, my mother is pretty a-ok with my bodmod as of late. The day I asked about my nose, she took me to get it done. ^^ She actually wants me to pursue a carreer (career? I can't spell today) in piercing. However, she doesn't want me to get any more facial piercings until I move out... -frown-. Actually, due to my school, I can't anyways.
I don't go into this stuff haphazardly. My motives for modifying my body are for the fact that I think it's beautiful. No, I don't wanna look 'punk', but I'm not going to judge whoever pierces TO look 'punk', because if they're willing to go through the pain for the look, then they can go right on ahead.
Anyways, my earlobes. Assuming my mother lets me stretch them to an 8g or a 6g, what do you all reccomend?

Well, if you plan on going to a certain size, probably count on going up around 5 sizes more (counting evens on the gauges system). I originally wanted to go up to a 12 ga for my first holes and leave my second ones at 'standard.' To sum up, I'm at a 2 ga for the first and 10 ga for the second holes. Needlesss to say, it's addicting. I still want bigger, but I debating on whether to stay at my 2's with my good jewelry, or have to buy more for bigger holes. Ah, the price of big holes.

Just go slow... That's all you got to do... Don't go over like one m"m (dunno how it works in ga :/) at a time and you'll be fine no matter what size you plan on getting, that way you can always shrink your lobs back. (well...)

I want to stretch my second lobe holes to 16g(i believe it is) to fit in tongue rings. I just found it so unfair that u can find such awsome looking tongue rings -___- cuz theres no way i'd ever pierce my toungue >.> also i'm putting it in the second hole because i always like putting regular earings in the first (ones that dangle) and in the third i keep gold loops regardless of what jewelry is in the other 2 holes. the way i've stared it out was i put 2 gold earings in one hole. i used vaseline and it barely stung so i think it's all good. sorry if i sound like a foolish home piercer or something, just that this just makes sence to me.
so am i completely stupid for doing it the way i am? (i.e. i just put 2 earings in one slot to stretch) because i don't see the harm in it if it caused little to no pain.
i hear stretching lobes smell? does that apply when going from an 18g to 16g? and is it easy to go back to normal size should i decide to one day take it out?

I believe tongue barbells come in 14ga minimum, but I could be wrong. It sort of sounded like you pierced your ear for a second there, but putting in two pieces of jewelry in one hole already there can work. It's really not the best though at that size. Small gauge earring can tend to slice through lobes if you're not careful, so you could end up with a slit rather than a nice round hole. At that small of a size, it'd really just be better to get some 14ga (since that's the size I believe most barbells come in, but I don't know where you're finding them, but either way, 14 ga works) tapered jewelry. I used 14ga "enlarging crescents" for my first stretch and it just stung for a day or two. As for smell, all piercings can smell due to the dead skin and oil being sloughed out of the piercing. Even before with my 20ga jewelry, there could be a slight odor. Stretched ears can just make it more noticible. This really isn't a concern unless you're dealing with a nose piercing in my opinion. It's not like it's an overwhelming occurence. With that small of a size, you shouldn't have any trouble going back as long as the jewelry doesn't slice through.

You could just get a single taper then and follow the barbells after, then the jewelry won't show the noticable stretch. Tapers can be pricey is the only issue. Acrylic tapers would be cheaper though. You may be able to get the 14ga barbells in depending on the hole size. It's worth a try, just DON'T force them in if they don't want to slide in. I only offer that as an option since it's such a small gauge.
