Nappy Nicholai Maxwell HEY! I TAKE THAT OFFENSIVELY!! ONLY BAD OBOISTS SOUND LIKE DUCKS!! *laughs* My second chair, (and only other oboist) sounds like one, so I got first after my first year of playing oboe. I had only taken lessons, and not played in actual band. But, anyway, if you are a good oboist with a "dark" sound, you never have to worry about being a duck. I sound more like a snake charmer. *laughs* Double reeds are the best ever, except for the fact that so few people play them really well, as compared to other "mainstream" instruments. Bassoons are awesome, but oboes win out because they are so diverse when it comes to sound quality. You can sound like a duck, or a really high playing bass clarinet if you are good. So, they win out.

I really liked that short and long/makes no diffence banner...the only phones i haven't played in that pic is the bass...and if it is seven feet...then no wonder its an auxilary orchestra instrument...infact. its the only sax ever used in orchestra...even then its mostly just a backup to the tuba...probably sounds like one too...but that would sure be fun to play...*contemplates where to get one...*

I doubt I could carry it - I have trouble with the tenor. ^^;;

I doubt I could carry it - I have trouble with the tenor. ^^;; Haha, I get jokes about how big the tenor is compared to me all the time. ^^;; I'm about 5'3" and 90 pounds... there are people in the band who can hold me up with one arm. xd But it's FUN to play a big instrument when you're tiny! ^^

I'm barely 5' feet Really. (I won't grow anymore either being 17 years old) but maybe one of us should make that little banner into a Guild Banner and Submit it to Masq.
By the Way I'm Bridget, I Play Alto Saxophone, if I knew there was a Smaller sax when I was in 6th Grade I would have choosen it, and This is my 7th Year of Playing Sax.
