Kayne Aiya sweatdrop crying I can't figure out what my totem is.... It takes time. Don't be discouraged. It could an animal that seems to be wherever you are all the time. You could be seeing pictures or statues of it, hearing songs about it, etc. It could be an animal you are drawn to, and you are not exactly sure why. For example, komodo dragon has been nosing into my life quite a bit in the last year. Everywhere I turned, I kept either seeing programs about it, advertisements about it, etc. For now, komodo dragon is in my life. It's interesting working with a cold-blooded animal. When komodo dragon is influencing me, I want to be warm at all times. I basically want to bask in the sun. If it's cold outside, I either do not want to move, or I want to curl up in my bed with plenty of blankets. Because of this development, I learn all I can about komodo dragons, both as an actual animal and as a totem. Actually, I do that with all of my totems. It sheds a lot of insight on me. But, anyway, take your time. A permanent animal totem will let you know when it wants you to. However, meditating on the reasoning behind wanting an animal totem will actually help you. If nothing else, it will prove to the animal totem you are serious about wanting one.

Supposedly everyone has 9 animal totems at all times, one for each direction. Just that some of them are more significant... I think it's the one infront and behind us.... I posted the link to a site about it here somewhere.

If nothing else, it will prove to the animal totem you are serious about wanting one. I think that's partly the reason I can't figure out my totem. I see different animals and the like all the time. Be it Birds or dogs and things related to dogs, to moose and deer. It's all there. Do you have any advice on how to sort through all of it? It's not that I feel particularily drawn to any one animal....If I were to choose one, it would probably be birds, but I just feel, i don't know, connected to many many many different kinds... sweatdrop

Kayne, it's okay to feel drawn to many different animals. Let me give you an example. About the time I was having some questions about my future, I kept asking for guidance. After a few days of asking, I started to see red-tailed hawks wherever I went. Information about them started to jump out at me. After I made a few decisions, I would always see a red-tailed hawk fly by me whenever I was driving. Hawks are known to be messengers. I took seeing the hawk as verification I had made the right decision for me at that time.
Right now, I have about 9-10 different animal totems around. It is okay to have variety.

Not a problem. If you want any more ideas on how to figure out which animal totem is yours, just let me know. The dragon totem likes it when I pass on information.

mmm, I saw 14 crows this morning on my way to basketball, all in the span of ten or fifteen minutes. Could that be a way of saying " look at me, I 'm your totem" ?

Kayne Aiya mmm, I saw 14 crows this morning on my way to basketball, all in the span of ten or fifteen minutes. Could that be a way of saying " look at me, I 'm your totem" ? It's possible. Where you thinking about something that either has to deal with the crow as an animal or as a symbol? Explore your options and research. For example, horse is one of my totems. Ever since I was old enough to understand what a horse was, I was drawn to it. If not the horse itself, then either the unicorn or the pegasus. I was always looking at books about horses, I had pictures of them on my bedroom walls (still do), and every chance I got to spend time around horses was a wonderful experience. This fascination has not waned at all. Hence, horse is one of my permanent totems. She was, is, and will always be there for me. She is my rock. Dragon entered my life when I started to study paganism, about 6 years ago. This was about the time when dragons became really popular. However, my fascination with dragon has not waned at all. My collection of books about dragons is quite large. Dragon is a huge part of my life. He is also a rock for me. Since these two are a large part of my life, along with bear and hawk, I had their likenesses tattooed on my right shoulder. My next step is to get bear and hawk on my left shoulder. I'm just waiting to save the money for them.

I had been thinking about birds and totems that morning, (yesterday and today). The crows just seemed to follow.... once again on my way to basketball today there were crazy amounts of birds. I saw more crows and a bazillion starlings........I used to have a wild starling.......but he died. crying ....
I'm going to research more on it, like you suggested, though. It really has me wondering...

I don't know; maybe because they're a rather common animal? I'm really not sure what mine is, but I said cat because I've always really liked them, and they seem to always like me..
