Ambrose held his breath as Colche turned into the gift, smiling self-consciously at the thank-you. Crossing his fingers that the gift wasn't something like feminine products or something equally... weird... to get from an 'older brother' he breathed a sigh of relief as he saw the two plush cubs in the package. He smiled widely.
"You are welcome!"
He gave a headbob and smile to Aubey.
Looking around Ambrose fidgeted. He really was feeling like he was in the middle of the estrogen brigade here. He and Pyroth were about the only guys there since Alec faded off. And with the disney princess theme, all the girls, and of course Colche's cuteness, he felt... like a guy at a girls' sleepover party.
Awww, who cared. He was enjoying himself.
"Happy Birthday!"

Pyroth watched Colche receive her presents, surprised by how well she read the titles, he himself would probably only have done marginally better, reading was not one of his fortes. Still, there was an air of contented civilisation present for now, and he could almost pretend that everyone was there by choice, and normal in appearance.

Lily just watches now from off to the side, the gifts are all wonderful- and while she knows Colche is turning 17, and that these gifts are odd to give someone who is turning 17, she isn't surprised by it. She doesn't mind just standing by and watching for now, but she makes a mental note that she needs to say Happy Birthday, and possibly figure out a gift of some kind.

Colche giggles happily at the cheetahs. They were like mini hers, all fluffy she grins and snuggles them for a moment before turning back to the gifts. She opts for one of the larger ones this time, being careful to peel back the paper and not harm the present within.

The bigger box contained a whole bunch of art supplies.
 A wooden set with crayons and pastels, plus a big box of markers, lots of sketch paper and contructions paper, glue, glitter, scissors, stencils, paints and fingerpaints, stain remover, and a few bog boxes to store everything, a box of push pins so she could display her art, and an easel.

"ohh" Colche grinned. the art set looked like alot of fun, she could draw and colour and maybe even write. she had read about writing, but never tried it, maybe she would ask that of Aubrey next. Biting her tongue she filtered out anothe rof the big packages. so many presents. she had never owned so much in her life.

There was only one really big present left and Aubrey slid it close to her with care. "This one is heavy," she warning. And indeed it was.
Once the big box was stripped of its wrapping, a box for a upscale, very expensive telescope was inside
"This is a special machine," she started, realize Colche probably had no idea what this was, "to look at the stars and the moon. Much more closely than we could with our own eyes. You can even see other plaents sometimes."
Aubrey fished out one of the smaller packages which she knew contained a picure book of space. "Its a lot of fun, and everything is beautiful."

Colche was facinated by the big telescope and touched it carefully. She was sure Aubrey would show her exacty how to use it. but looking at the stars, even more closely than usual? That sounded like somehting extremely facinating. She quickly opened the booko n star gazing. before she looked around to see if there were any presents left. She would need somemore room for all these presents.

Lauren had an idea spark into her mind. "Ohh! Nice presents Colche, I'll be right back with mine. The mongoose girl smiled and ran to her duplex to retrieve something.

Most of the presents left were more books. Lots of children's chapter book classics. A Wrinkle in Time, Shiloh, Stone Fox, The Cronicles of Narnia, and the Animorphs series. She figured that might be cute for her to enjoy. Though she did hope she didn't start believing in aliens.
Also, there was an exploration/bug collecting kit where you could catch a bug or lizard and watch it in a plastic terrarium for a few hours before letting go (or so Aubrey specifically instructed).
There was an ant farm - to be honest that was a blast from Aubrey's past. She was such a science nerd when she was little.
And there was a bright pink iPod with a Beauty Princess decal that contained every Disney soundtrack that she could think of. And of course some headphones and stereo speakers for it as well.

"A telescope!" Ambrose exclaimed, a tad surprised. He wouldn't have thought of something like that but it was in retrospect a very appropriate gift.
"IT should be good here, especially - since there aren't city lights to drown out the stars. YOu should be able to see them very clearly." His tail thumped as he inched closer to look at the telescope. From what he could tell it was a very nice one.

Colche giggled happily sifting through the gifts. So many new books to read. It would take her a while she was sure. But they allsounded so interesting. The chroniocals of narnia made ehr smile, having seen the lion the witch and the wardrobe. She had no idea it was a book "aslan!" she stated with a grin recognising the title in an instant and pointing it out amongst the seven titles.
The Ipod confused and amazed ehr but when she found out it played music it made her happy, sehcould sing and listen to the words at the same time.
Looking back at ehr big brother she grinned happily "watch stars wif me Ambrose?" she asked "when dark?" she smiled brightly batting those long ashen lashes.
She looked around waiting for Lauren to return. So many presents. she had her own personal library virtually now.

Lily straightens when the telescope is revealed, evidentally surprised and a bit more interested at the sudden change in the type of gift. The other things, the bug related things in particular, catch her eye as well- but the bugs are not only interesting, something in the back of her mind just seems to draw her interest.
"T-those are wonderful gifts," she says, speaking carefully and with an odd lisp thanks to the new position of her tongue, "Happy Birthday, Colche." She nods, having decided to say it now rather than stand by quietly the whole time.

"I'd love to, Colche" Ambrose responded. "It would be nice to look at the stars with you."
He nodded in agreement with Lily. "She's right, these are some wonderful presents.
Ambrose was sitting contentedly now, belly full of great birthday food, having a good time, and a smile resting comfortably on his face.

Lauren returned to the party a few minutes later. She had a piece of paper in hand she handed to Colche. "Happy Birthday. It's not much but hey, it's something." Lauren reached out to give it to her, the paper had a rough drawing on it. It was much more cutsie than her normal drawing and that was probalby because Lauren found it impossible for Colche not to be cute.
