Water rushed down onto the Giant. It scorched the back of the robed shinigami, searing into the flesh that it had been going into for the past several minutes. Yet, through the minuteness and growing pain, he remained focused. He bore the tidal wave that threw itself down from above.
Ugu let go a breath as he remained in his position.

His eyes kept beneath their thick tanned lids. Ugu rested his two palms against eachother as he focused his inner reiatsu into being. He focused and brought focus into being within his soul, scathing his insides with the purity of null.
Darkness surrounded his being. His inner flame stood againt the many small strands that flew down from the sky. The shinigmai's eyes tensed tighter than before as he pushed his reiatsu inwards. Eternal focus. Focus eternal. He repeated the motto over and over, cementing his target into his soul.

She thought about his question for several minutes. Did she want to train with him? It would be nice. She disliked training alone. But...her gaze once again took in the wounds and the blood. Would she survive his training? Even now, he was sitting under an immense waterfall. She was hesitant about getting under it herself. She was not as strong as he. She might be crushed. Scowling suddenly, she shook her head. What was wrong with her? She had gone through so much to be here. Was she to falter just as someone was offering a helping hand? This man was much stronger than she, true. But she doubted that his will would swamp hers so easily. Her posture straightened to one almost of defiance as her chin lifted. Any other would think that she was defying the shinigami. But, in fact, she was denying her weaker side. She was denying herself the privilege or the right to whine and take the easy road out.
Her soft voice rang out, "Yes. I would like that." She walked hesitantly towards the waterfall where the giant sat. Now that she was so close to him, his size overwhelmed her. Standing at 5'2", Kaiya was not very tall. She tried to shrug off the uneasiness she felt. She stood quietly as the shinigami seemed to be concentrating hard on...something. She didn't know what it was, but she felt a building of pressure. It seemed to stem from this man. She knew that he was doing something -- she could feel it with every breath she strove to take -- and so she waited and watched. She wanted to discover how she could train this, as well.

A hollow, roughly the size of a bear, looked down from the cliff's edge. It stared down with its gray hateful eyes, looking at the two shinigami. Its tongue fluttered out of its white mask. The being waited for the perfect time to attack.

Ugu smiled at the girl's kindness. It's rare for anyone to just 'happen' upon him, and even more rare for somone to accept his invitation. However, as he smiled, he continued to focus on his training. Water purifies thought, Ugu said to himself, reminding himself why he was cleansing his focus with the waterfall.
The waterfall symbolized the downward flow of time. It shifted and glided with the flow of life, of purity. He exhaled a breath.

Ugu's mind seized upon itself. He spun on his feet and stood tall once more. His back faced Kaiya as he looked up at the hallowed hollow at the top of the falls. Then he disappeared.
He was then at the top of the falls, with his feet in the rushing rapids that flew towards the river below. Sword raised high he spoke out the call of his Zanpakutou, Egeus. "Red Ocher Renewal- Egeus!" Ugu's blade extended itself another foot, encroaching upon the length of seven feet.
Both of his hands touched the thick hilt of the Shikai'd Zanpakutou. A small flash of steel slid down at the hollow's mask as Ugu made a valiant slash down at his opponent's face.

The sword etched itself deep into the Hollow's shoulder. It ripped deep into the black flesh, and shattered a good half of the Hollow's mask while it crashed down into the darkling's shoulder blade. "... Mosa Shouten, Hyoumenka Bantan-no-Rensa-no-ningensei: evaporating shallows!"
From both Ugu's blade, and Ugu himself, a thunderously powerful wave of flame burst out. It evaporated the incoming stream of water and made a horrifyingly powerful wave of flame burst outwards. The hollow would be very hardpressed to escape the technique whilst Ugu's blade still stuck in it.

Flame licked the body of the burnt hollow. Small licking shadows of flame had caught onto the darkling's mask, making its appearance seem even more savage. Ugu frowned at his opponent's stalwart ability to stay alive. Most demi hollows would have died on his first strike. That meant this hollow was a different level than the previous monsters he had fought with.
The Hollow then slid along Ugu's blade so that it could get closer to its victim. It raised a mighty bear-like claw and slashed at Ugu's wet shinigami clothing. And, as it cut downward, Ugu would attempt to slide backward to dodge his opponent's fearsome forward battery.

Ugu dodged his opponent's counter. A set of claw marks formed on his shinigami garb, though, as he moved out of the way of his opponent's movement. His opponent had stretched himself in its attempt to attack him.
His blade then swished upwards, releasing itself from the hollow's shoulder. Egeus then slashed down, then to the right and then upwards. Ugu's eyes remained firm, entirely focused on his quick movements, aiming to cause the death of his Hollow-opponent.

At first, she had been unsure of what the man was doing. Eyes widening, for the first few critical seconds, she thought he was attacking her. She ducked even as he launched himself in an entirely different direction. Only then did she catch sight of the Hollow. She cursed under her breath as she whipped out her zanpakutou. Alot of good these would do her. Not only had she yet to connect with her zanpakutou's soul, she wasn't even sure how to fight with this kind of weapon. She had been trained on the katana. Not a two handed weapon. Though she was skilled enough to improvise and perhaps be of some help. Her mind was torn between wanting to help and wanting to stay out of the way.
The decision was made when she saw the power of the man's zanpakutou. He obviously didn't need her help with this one. She relaxed slightly but kept her guard up. This wasn't the only hollow likely to be attracted to the shinigami's blood. And even this one might decide that weaker prey would be wiser. With her zanpakutou clutched tightly in her fists, she watched the fight with sharp eyes, ready to jump in if needed.

The hollow howled in harminous pain as it felt the two blows bestowed onto it. It shifted backwards, pushing against the rapids that kept it going toward the shinigami fighter. A light glimmer of fear entered its gray eyes as its claws rose up to defend itself.
Ugu rushed forward against his opponent. With his sword in his right hand, and with his left hand holding onto the shikai's hilt, he struck to his left is a plain sideways slash. He moved forward, following his opponent and cut upwards toward the hollow's mask.
Without a second thought Ugu's Zanpakutou slashed downward, again, in its simplistic cutting powess.
