I started learning classical and learned various techniques that have helped me to play rock, metal etc. I love to play with bands, but I don't think I will want to make music my professional career. My favorite thing about guitar is teaching people how to play it.

At many of these concerts I got to meet the guitarists and hang out afterwards.
When You Started : I began playing when I was 13
Bio: I started by taking lessons throughout my teen years. After becoming a studied guitar-listening fanatic I decided to get serious about playing and attended GIT in Los Angeles after I finished High School when I was 18 -around the time that I created this guild. Git was amazing I was taught personally by Greg Harrison (a student of Paul Gilbert's) and TJ Helmerich (The best tapper of his style in the world!); if you haven't heard of them, do yourself a favor and look them up on youtube. Also around this time I discovered Shawn Lane right around the time of his passing. He is and always will be my biggest inspiration on the electric guitar.

Butchered broke up some time ago and since then I have been forming a new progressive instrumental band with a lot of melody and groove with some amazing players that live in my area. I'm a major Classic Rock guy. Old music is the only music as far as I'm concerned. I love the Beatles, Sabbath, Zeppelin, Floyd, ect. I really have a thing for British rock too.
I've been playing for a year or so and made rather good progress in that time. I learn and improve really fast. I love music and i love guitar. I'm always looking for a new technique or sound.
I'm really laid back and always ready to play, I spend at least 4-5 hours a day playing. I've never been in a band but I'm looking for one now.
I'm a laid back and easy going guy who believe in being straight edge oddly enough.

When You Started: Last year, August 16, 2008 at 4:00 P.M. (I'm not joking)
Bio: I'm 19 years old, I started playing when I was 18 (a couple of months after my birthday). My first guitar was supposed to be an Ibanez Iceman 220 DX, I waited almost two months for it to come in and it never did, so I don't like Ibanez so much (and I'm glad I never got the Ibanez, ESP had what I was looking for). I bought the Alexi-200 after I heard Alexi Laiho play and found out he used ESP guitars, I originally wanted the Alexi-600 in black and yellow, but didn't have the money and wasn't going to wait to get the money. I'm glad I snatched this one, I love it so much, I just have to change my tuners to Gotoh locking tuners and I'm all set (and my Floyd Rose needs a little bit of work).
I'm a senior in high school, I do plan on going to college one day, and that college will be in Boston, Massachusetts (Berklee College Of Music in Boston). I'm starting a band that plays melodic death, black metal, metalcore. I also come from a family of musicians (on my father's side), most of them are drummers, singers, guitarists, pianists, but I only know a couple of them. I'm inspired by Bob Marley's songs. I also play Goth rock. I'm also inspired by Caliban's new album "Say Hello To The Tragedy" because if you listen past the gutteral vocals, you'll hear the message that they're trying to get across in each song, the band really does put meaning in their songs. My playing style is influenced by Rusty Cooly, Micheal Angelo Batio, and Alexi Laiho.

Trained classical sence i was 7-ish started on piano, moved to viola then started guitar myself.
Like to play anything that sounds either badass or freakin sweet.
example, fav songs to play r Suicide Messiah by the BLS and Bad Horsie by Mr Steve Vai
geer wise is rather un-impressive but out of either my 89 Ibanez RX 570, or my Custom Homemodified Strat into a Dunlop Crybaby, through a stereo splitter, left into a Line6 Spyder2, right into a Digitech RP5 prosseser, then a DOD Chorus Flanger and into a Peavey Basic 60.
unimpressive but sounds sweet.
