Well Of course. I myself am an avid vid gamer. as are most of my freinds, the girl ones, the guys don't favor them as much xd

I really hate it when people deal in absolutes. There is nothing that bugs me more (except maybe downright intolerance or hatred of someone else for being whatever it is they are) than when somebody says "____ is for ____" or "____ can't ____" or any variation thereof. "Video games are for guys"?! Excuse me? If that was true, then there probably wouldn't BE video games. Think of it... if only men and boys played video games, and only industrialized nations can afford them, you're whittling down the gaming population from millions of people to only a few hundred thousand men. Why would the gaming companies pump so much money into games that only a few hundred thousand people would buy? And why, pray tell, would there be games that are advertised for, aimed at, or designed for girls? I realize that Final Fantasy X-2 is playable by both genders, but come on. It was designed for female players, because most of the games thus far have been designed for male players. The gaming companies were giving back to all their loyal female followers and fans.
This goes up there with statements like "All black people are lazy and stupid", "All Jews are money-grubbing penny-pinchers" (which, by the way, is a stereotype created by Nazi Germany, and it's totally untrue), "White guys can't dance", "All Italians want is sex", etc. and so forth, ad nauseum. Why do we make these extremist, black-and-white statements? Why is it so hard for people to understand that humans don't work in absolutes, but in a gray-scale mish-mash of ideals, interests, and lifestyles?
Gah. That guy and what he said REALLY pisses me off. xp

I consider the thought that FFX-2 being designed for girls, is an insult to an entire gender. I wouldn't mind if the game was half good but it isn't. The game is poor. As is FFX. In fact, it went down hill since FF7 ( although FFMQ wasn't all that great either)
I find that games where there is a massively strong hero or buxom heroine (don't even get me started on tomb raider) are poor excuses for games. I prefer things like the Silent Hill series where you have "nobodies". Average joes. At least with these characters, there is more there to connect with on a recognisable level.

I believe anyone can do just about anything that they want. Women can play video games just as easily as men can. I am an avid gamer and a guy and what that guy said was the most f*cked up thing I have heard in months. I also agree and love the comment made by Crazyhatchetmonkey. That said it all. I love women, sex video games, and food. I also have the famed gamer-twitch from playing Zelda: A link to the past one too many times...

no girls can play video games when they want but it is probably true thet girls dont play then as much as guys do and when they do they usually dont play the same ones as guys play. But if you want to play then just tell him to kiss it. hell if you beat him at one then you can really tell him off. xd

A lot of guys find it cool when girls play video games. I remember I was talking on the phone to a guy friend of mine while playing Zelda, and when I told him what I was doing he thought it was sexy. :Blinks: He didn't care to explain why... But all my girl friends play video games, and one of them is amazingly good at fighter games. So...yes, video games are for everyone.
