RyanPendragon My band tries to alternate between "Crowd-pleaser" shows and "Judge-pleaser" shows. This year, it's a "crowd-pleaser." Our show is call "Peace, Love, and Rock-and-Roll." Our opener is the song "Roundabout" by the British group Yes. It's pretty cool, and the Trumpets (because of phrasing) don't have to do the crazy marching we were originally doing. Our ballad is "Cool Change," by the Australian group, Little River Band. It has a Trumpet trio, and it's pretty cool in general. We haven't had toime to put our closer on the field yet (but that's what were oding this week). The closer, "Livin' in the Past" by Jethro Tull, has a long trumpet trio that is all double-tounged 32nd notes. It's incredibly awesome! If anyone lives in the Piedmont-Triad area of NC, you should comne check us out. Is that really what we're calling it, Ryan? I wasn't aware that we had a name yet...but I guess that since that's what was on the backs of our shirts, I guess that that's it. Even if you're not in the area, you should come check us out. -She who is five hours older.

Aryah liebe296 We march in all the parades around town, every home football game, and we go away to different competitions pretty much every weekend until December. We have three drum majors, one of which is one of my best friends, and have practice every day after school for about 3 hours. During the summer until band camp we have practice from 6:00 to 8:30 on Thursday nights, and then we have band camp the first two weeks of August from 8:00 am to 4:00 PM. We get an hour and a half for lunch though . . . But I still love it ^ ^ Sounds a lot like my HS' marching band 3nodding And a lot like mine, too, except that we don't practice quite that much. It comes close, though. Our first competition is Saturday, and we're the hosts! That means we get to perform last, don't compete, but are still judged, just so we know how good we are. A "no pressure" competition, before the big deal at the BOA Regional at Massilon.

I have a band story! whee <- we should make a thread on that- band stories, but we almost plenty of threads those can already go into . . .
ANYWAYS! Let me enlighten you all. Our director has been gone all week because his mother was sick and died today. Anyways our evil new assitant director and the other cool percussionist assitant director have been teaching us WELL tonight at the game our stand behavior wasn't very good (pouring water on people, stepped on a clarinet when dancing, poured water on a clarinet, flute and brass got into a verbal fight . . . stare ) AHEM! Anyways we get back to school and the a**l A. director is going over how bad we were and like how we're not suppose to have food at all during the games and that pepole where getting their friends and family to bring them food. Thus it wasn't fair that to other members and that how should we ever be let to get food if we can't even follow that rule . . . ANYWAYS she was saying stuff like how our main director knows all this and this is the reason he's leaving early to be with his family (remember his mom just died) to come back to us because of our behavior.
Now then band parents didn't like this. One shouted up that we didn't need that guilt trip and the another one agreed. Our Band Parent Assiotation Presidents jumps in saying they hadn't been there all week with the kids and she had all the right in the world to say it and so all these band parents were arguing until our assitant band director blew her whistle saying they should argue about this outside and not in front of the band. So . . . fun things.

This year our theme is Little Shop of Horrors. It's really pretty spiffy. Most every song has a Trumpet solo (our director is quite biased). I actually just got back from a game 40 minutes ago. We lost, 41-14. Oh and one of our stupid football players got in our Trombonist's face and the entire L. B. had to be restrained...good camaradarie.

Our show has nothing to do with Pirates of the Caribbean..but our rivil schools does. Our show is Visitations: We are not alone. It takes orginal and rewritten music from alien movies. Our opening song is from Signs..and we have tarps out on the field to form crop circles. Its pretty awesome.

Aaron Guidry composes most of our show for us...we take some music from other places, but he makes up a lot of it himself...he's in Circ de Soule...pretty sure I spelled that wrong...
