Her father, Togano, works as a courier ninja, while her mother, Hana, is an acting healer. Her parents met after a mission went south - her father had gotten injured during his travels, something about the wrong address for the package in question, before getting attacked by criminals. He managed to kill them but ended up losing his right eye - the injury could have been prevented if he had gone to a medical station earlier, but he was an idiot - or so her mother said. Shortly after that meeting, her parent had her first sibling Gentaro, then her three brothers. Her older siblings were practically prodigies, passed the academy, and all three passed the Chuunin exams before they turned seventeen. It was a lot to live up to - so Asako didn't try to.
Like many children, Asako dreamed of being a ninja, but once she saw her older brothers' uniforms,... Well, Hidden in Rain was never known for its fashion aesthetic. She put off going to the academy - skipping classes so several years. Her childhood mainly was escaping through the open windows, balancing on drain pipes, and trying to die from the heights of the buildings. As a teenager, she did gain some training from her older siblings, primarily working with her wires that were known to the clan. Her brothers thought training her would get her in gear to apply to be genin, but not even that helped. She spent that knowledge joining small girl gangs in the city, ambushing the poor citizens, and kissing people with her fist. There was a particular enjoyment about beating the s**t out of someone else in the rain. The cold rain always soothed the fresh wounds, and blood looked like a painting in the puddles. A simple joy of the moment.
That joy turned cold once her oldest brother was killed on a mission. They never found out who killed him, his team, or their mentor. Nor the small village they were just outside of. Revenge was an excellent reason enough for her to return to training - sure, she is taller and older than half the brats around, but it will be worth it when she finds her brother's killer. She even has a special wire picked out just for them.

Short bio optional History: A former fledgling shinobi, fresh out of the academy and being dispatched on missions with her team. This all went wrong when they ran afoul of Markus Caswell, a notorious vampire. Her teammates were all killed, and by happenstance, Lily would be captured as the last one alive. The girl would be kept in a delirious state for years, being used as a living blood bank.
Near the end of her life, the girl would be coerced into begging for a way out, to be able to leave, to accept being turned. She was not in any state of mind to make a rational decision, but it was all Markus needed to turn the girl into one of his thralls. Her physical condition, along with the trauma of the transformation, fractured her memories, only allowing slivers of her past life to shine through. Additionally, her memories from her time as a thrall would also be few and far, as the magic that kept her connected to Markus also clouded her mind. She wouldn’t become her own person again until some other vampire elders were able to break her free from the rogue Markus’ control one year after her turning.
Lily was only able to remember her first name when she came around. The elders, in vampire tradition, gave her the last name of her progenitor. At the same time, another of Markus’ creations, Royce von Kalt, would be broken free as well. They had been teamed up by Markus, as their abilities complemented each other. They vowed revenge on their ‘father,’ making the elders pleased that they were willing to take on the task.

Personality: Laid back and carefree, Tanamaru has been called Lazy and good for nothing by many of the people around him. But he doesn't let that bother him as he doesn't want to change his ways. He likes to be a social person and the life of the party. There are many times where he is quiet and reserved however, seeming rather dark and distant for reasons he would rather not talk about. He is especially closed on two certain days of the year, locking himself in his room and refusing to come out or speak to anyone. When introduced to blood, be it the sight or smell, he will seem to completely change his personality. A bloodlust enters his eyes and he seems to become insane, not caring or having any morals or hang ups about killing whomever he perceives as a threat and shedding as much blood as possible.
Starting Jutsu: Henge no Jutsu - 300 Skill Points ( -5 Opponents Intelligence Stat, while active. ) This technique allows the ninja to transform their appearance to that of anyone they have a strong enough understanding for the appearance for. This allows the ninja to move with stealth or to trick their opponents. In order to maintain this technique, a ninja needs to hold a level of focus in order to allow for the structure and how it interacts with the environment to function. If the ninja is injured or loses focus then this technique is deactivated. This is not a physical change, it's only an illusion, so bare that in mind.
This technique cannot be used to alter the appearance of basic clones like Bushin no Jutsu, Water Clone, or Shadow clone but can for clones or aids that have their own chakra supply as the individual must use the technique. [N]
Bushin no Jutsu - 300 Skill Points ( -5 Opponents Intelligence Stat, per Clone. ) This technique creates a copy of the ninja without substance. The copy resembles the ninja in every way, down to their physical capabilities outside of resilience. This clone can function as a distraction or as a means to confuse one's opponent. As soon as the clone gets attacked or comes into contact with an opponent, it will disperse. These clones can only be used for diversionary purposes and you must pay for each individual clone.
This is a basis technique for making clones using other substances and for the multiple clone summoning like with the Kage Bushin no Jutsu. [N]
Art of Substitution - 400 Skill Points ( +5 Speed Stat, for one post after use. ) When in danger the ninja will quickly substitute themselves with another nearby object of lesser or equal weight to them with the exception of secured objects like buildings. This can be a block of wood or even another living thing so long as they belong to the user {eg. A puppet user substituting themselves with their puppet counts for a living thing swap.}. This allows the ninja to quickly flee and hide while the original object takes the brunt of their opponents attack. This technique is not a magical swap. The object is summoned and then the ninja slips away on their own as the decoy takes the brunt of the attack as a clone. Do not use this as if you were magically swapped with the item. Any objects swapped are meant to be decoys, not projectiles or used for crushing a target. It can only be enough to take an attack for you.[N]
Tree Climbing - 600 Skill Points ( + 5 Spirit, while in use. ) The Tree Climbing technique serves a dual purpose. The first is that it helps a ninja learn how to focus their chakra. The second is that it teaches the ninja how to run up trees and walk on vertical walls. Surfaces are not required to be easy to traverse as you can walk on slick surfaces like glass, but they must be solid and not gas or liquid.
The training helps the ninja learn how to focus just the right amount of chakra to a particular part of their body. The amount needed to climb is small but it must be precise. If focus is lost then the technique deactivates.
This is necessary to learn any other solid-type of walking techniques. [T]
Water Walking - 600 Skill Points ( +5 Spirit, while in use. ) A variation on the Tree Climbing Technique, Water Walking allows a ninja to walk on water as if it was a solid surface. Focusing an even amount of chakra out of the soles of their feet, they can balance themselves on the very surface of the water. If focus is lost then the technique deactivates. This is needed to learn any type of liquid walking technique.
As the description suggests, this is exclusive to water and not all forms of liquid. For other liquids this must be used as a basis to learn a specific justu. (eg. Lava Walking) [T]

History: Most children can boast a happy childhood. A happy family that lasted until they reached the age to become a ninja and was sent to the academy with their blessing and support. Well unfortunately that wasn't the case for a young Tanamaru. At the tender age of 10, he was out with his parents and siblings out in the woods, his older siblings showing him the things they had been learning at the academy and from their Jonin team leaders when suddenly, they were attacked. They didn't stand a chance. It was to sudden. He was the only one left alive, and only because his mom covered her with her body to hide him as she died. He was to terrified to scream as he stared at her lifeless eyes. The copper smell of blood surrounded him as he panted and was quiet until the laughter of the people who caused it were gone. He finally got out from under his mom after several hours, and all he could do as he looked upon his mom and siblings was scream and cry. He has no idea how long he sat there in their blood. He did know that by that point the villagers found him he had screamed himself hoarse and his tears had dried up.
After that he was taken in by the Stroud family. He took a while to snap out of his shock. Every night he was terrorized by the laughs and his mother's lifeless eyes staring into his own. They were very gentle with him, working around his fragile state to help make him very comfortable. Even being very careful not to bring up his family or the incident. Soon, he finally started opening up again tentatively. He became super close to their daughter, Linara since they were very close in age. She was the one person who helped him get over his trauma. Though one thing had changed within him drastically. When either of them got hurt, or he felt they were threatened, he seemed to totally shift personalities. He suddenly was more than happy to attack them and make his best attempt at killing them. The only one who could stop him and seem to snap him out of it was Linara. They only became closer as he opened up and she became his rock. Due to what happened with his family, he didn't seem that interested in becoming a ninja when he came of the age, but supported Linara when she went to the academy.
Things seemed to be going well. Almost to well. Then one day about five years ago, his whole world was once again turned upside down. His friend was sent off on a mission that should have been simple it seemed, but it turned out so much worse. He waited anxiously with her family for her return, only to be told that she had been killed and they couldn't find her body. For the second time in his life, he felt his whole world crumble. His friend, the one whom he was starting to love more than life, was taken from him like his family. Only this time, there wasn't anyone to help him out of it. He kept himself locked in his room for a time period he couldn't even remember. He barely could make himself go to the funeral, knowing she wasn't there to actually be buried and the whole thing was only a farce. After that he locked himself down again. He wouldn't go out, he barely ate, he barely slept, the nightmares getting worse, adding Lili to it and her blaming him for not being there to save her. He started to become an insomniac to avoid the nightmares, but his body would always inevitably catch up to him and force him to sleep, where he would once again not get enough sleep because all to soon he would be jolted out of it after only a few hours from yet another nightmare of his family blaming him for not saving them. He took up drinking to help numb the pain in his heart from their loss as her loss only compounded on top of his grief of his parents and siblings loss.
One thing came that helped him start to come back from his dark state was on the eve of his sixteenth birthday. He was given his father's sword, being told they had instructions to give it to him when he came of age. When he took the sword, it seemed to sing to him. It helped him find purpose again. Never again would he be weak. He would protect the only remaining two people he loved and cared for. So he connected with the clan he knew about. The Miyanari to teach him the way of the sword and spent the next few years learning to control his sword and learn to connect to it. He then went to the academy to learn the way of the ninja to help protect them even better. He only recently just graduated as a Genin and has made his way back home.
