Physical Description: Lean but well muscled, Teeliel stands at 6’3” tall with blond hair that is reminiscent of pale gold in the sunlight and violet eyes.
Personality: Upon first impressions, many would call Teeliel a polite young man. And he is that, manners and niceties matter a great deal to him. They are the foundation for all interactions in his opinion and should only be deviated from for good reasons. Generally good-natured, Teeliel finds most things agreeable or tolerable, even those people that are impolite.
This isn’t to say that he is a push over. Exactly the opposite. The man is strong willed and firm in his morals and ethics, he is just also willing to allow other people to be themselves. Those morals and ethics include kindness, understanding, tolerance, and dedication. Dedication includes both seeing a task through to completion and loyalty. The strong will gets him in trouble when he feel in the right and refuses to budge. He is still young and prone to jumping to conclusions about things based on first impressions. So when he tries to assert his will on the situation, it can backfire.
But Teeliel also is willing to experiment in the best way to get something done, to try new things, and basically enjoy life to the fullest. It is a fault that means he can be swayed to try almost anything. He tries to come up with new ways of doing tried and true methods and basically mess things up even more. He can be opportunistic in his endeavors, if the chance arrises he will take it and make the most of the opportunity. This is sometimes at the expense of others or even his future self.
Positive Trait List polite, good-natured, dedicated
Negative Trait List Experimental, Opportunistic, Strong-willed
History: Born in Fort Hold to a harper/healer pair, Teeliel led a charmed life in many ways. He wanted for nothing materially growing up and only sometimes desired more of his parents’ time. He was well educated as a child and when he showed an aptitude for music was ushered into the Harper Hall by his father at the usual age.
Training at Harper Hall would have been idyllic but marred for the times he got in trouble due to taking dares and experimenting (and failing) at coming up with new ways of doing things that were already well figured out. He was a curious child that wanted to know why and how and what if. Something he hadn’t fully figured out how to integrate with the structure of a Hall.
But he did manage to walk the tables to become a Journeyman at the age of 21 due to his dedication and willingness to put in the time to make up for his mistakes and misguided attempts. He didn’t make it very far into his Journeyman time before he was stopped by a search rider that said he had the opportunity to get a dragon. A dragon! This was not something he could pass up and told himself if it didn’t work out he would move on.
It didn’t work out but he didn’t move on. The lure of the dragon was great but he also was determined to help Pern where he could and would not give up until he aged out. It was in his last year of being able to stand that he was rewarded for his patience and a blue came bounding up, fresh from his egg, and sat down at Teeliel’s feet.
Teelielmine, why you are standing here when we should be feeding your Kuanoth? Simple and to the point. It was mid hatching already and Kuanoth was hungry. No time for dilly-dallying with the others when he knew who was his rider.
Anything else: Teeliel plays the mandolin and flute. He also writes songs, though sometimes he ties too hard and they can be…odd.
