Was Lorne feeling especially festive lately? Well, no. But some of his new students for the summer had encouraged him to go, hoping to see him there - and granted he could have just played along and stayed at home (if one could call a temporary hotel room "home" ) like he would have vastly preferred, it wasn't really doing him any favors... so here he was, trying his hand at one of the cute prizes. Maybe it would lighten his mood?
He would've rather been there with Auguste. Or Colin. Or he wished he was trying to win a prize for Nadia, because she probably would have loved it, if things had been different...
Needless to say, his throw was fairly lackluster. Maybe this really had been a bad idea... but the prizes were cute...

...So, not knocking any sets down? Oof. Not what she was expecting, and felt like a whole new level of embarrassing. Maybe she really did need a break if she had started sinking that low.

This stupid stack of mean cans wasn't going to win against her.
Raina honestly knew better than this -- she knew that these cans were likely glued together, or in some other way stuck, and she knew there was no way that anything she did was really going to make any kind of impact. At the same time, though, things other people were doing were making a bunch of impact, so she knew it was definitely possible, she just needed to figure out what she was doing a little better. Maybe she should watch the others. Study them. Figure out how they got around the tricks.
She did this for approximately two minutes before deciding that this was boring and she would honestly rather just play the game herself.
Fair.
Raina slapped down more money for another set of games and crouched down, getting herself ready to throw those balls in the direction of the stack of cans. She was going to win this time. She could feel it.
Unfortunately, she was definitely not feeling it.
The first ball? Ineffective. The second ball? Just fell to the side. The third ball? Made the top can wiggle, but that wasn't enough to really solve the problem of getting all the cans down. The fourth ball, though?
Raina had gotten so irritated that she hurled the ball at the cans and the cans decided to ... hurl the ball back.
At her face.
Squealing, Raina ducked down, shouting a, "Sorry!" at the other people behind her that also needed to duck. Eventually, the ball fell to the ground. Uselessly. In the opposite direction of the cans.
She'd be back.

Did Yolie enjoy giving to kids? Yes. Yes she did. Another toss meant more chances to win for the littles, and Yolie was all about the littles. The girl paid up extra for many rounds, quickly working to win win win so she could continue sharing.
And maybe she'd offer others a plushie in a bit.

Good old reliable cans. Di's expectations continued without a hitch after the last and so far only bad go. She didn't knock every set down, but she came close once, knocked one whole set down, and got at least one can per throw. She couldn't complain, really.
