★ Balloon Pop ★

Popping balloons continued to be harder than she thought, but at this point Di was all for letting herself disengage. Otherwise she'd start to get steamed over a carnie game, and that'd be real sad. But, man, losing stung sometimes.

Her original game plan to toss to hit the board just wasn't looking so hot anymore.

While she managed to pop balloons the last two times... this time she failed spectacularly. Two of them managed to bounce off the balloon instead of popping them and the other hit a place that was already a popped balloon. "So much for my luck." She sighed. Maybe she should take a break from this game for awhile.

After taking the short break Evren came back to the balloon pop game for another three attempts at popping some balloons. Unfortunately, her throws were all off. Letting out a puff of breath she decided to mull over in her head on how to get back her luck from her earlier throws.

Returning back to the balloon pop game. Evren gave her money to the clerk to once again attempt to throw three more darts. But once again as she threw each one they all missed their target. "I'm beginning to think I should probably cut my losses on this game." She had managed to win at a couple other games as she walked around the fair. She decided to take another break and mull over what she should do.

Returning to the balloon pop game yet again Evren founder herself wondering why she kept coming back to torture herself. As she threw another three darts all missing their target she pondered if she should come back another time after this one. She decided she would continue to ponder this while she waited for her next turn.

Once again at the ballon pop stand and once again there were another three swishing sounds of darts being hurled at the balloons and once again Evren missed her targets.

Ah man, she was so close. Evren on her three throws managed to pop one balloon and just barely missed two others. Evren brought her hand up to her hair in wonder if she should attempt one more throw or not. But for now, she decided she would go check out some other things at the fair.

Sad did not help focus.

Rationally, Daniel knew he couldn't change his Mom's mind, nor could he change that he couldn't see her, but he could change how he handled it, and the boy sighed. Maybe Thomas could help -- that was an odd thought, but... But nice.

Thomas seemed good now, or better. Daniel understood why Thomas was so mad now all the time and Daniel wanted to help make sure Thomas still loved him like he said he did, and... He'd get Thomas another stuffy to make up to him, and a dart went flying, the boy smiling just a little.

Raina knew she could handle balloons.

Tossing things at balloons was easy. She could do this in her sleep. Give her the balloons, fair guy. She would show those balloons who was boss and win herself a prize.

Raina squared up, leaning her body back and squinting hard at the balloons in front of her. They seemed pretty spread out, so she could probably aim pretty randomly and still hit one. The key was hitting one so that the dart wouldn't bounce off somewhere else, though. How was she going to do that...

The first dart didn't go super well, landing itself in a small hole in the board between a couple balloons. Raina grimaced. She needed to aim better.

No problem, she had two more darts!

She decided to be a little more careful this time, readjusting, recalculating, recalibrating her position until she was certain she was in a spot that would smack a balloon. And she was right! She heard the delightful sound of a pop and made a happy, "Eh-yo!!!" noise, doing a small little dance where she stood. The dance was probably what distracted her so badly that her third dart just fell to the ground uselessly.

That was fine, she'd take the small lizard plush.

And she'd be back.214

Still hyped from winning twice in a row, Owen decided to give the balloon pop another try. Not even the best luck could hold consistently, however, and none of his darts managed to pop anything. Oh well - he was still too pleased from his other victories to care!

Brendan got so close on a few! Why did he have to raise his hopes up like that.

"BANG! POW! EAT THAT, YOU... balloon!" Maxine crowed out her victory.

"Cabrone..."

Daniel all but swore at the balloon game in Spanish, eyes narrowing. It was indeed a b*****d in his eyes, and the boy growled, cracking his knuckles as he shelled out again, muttering to himself in Spanish furiously. He was NOT giving in to the balloons suddenly noit popping! He was a force of nature!....Or a force vof puberty and boyhood becoming a horrible monster.

Some people would argue if there was any difference.

Okay, maybe it was time to stop playing these games. Owen had won enough times to call it good, and he was starting to fail more often. This latest failure was just making it more obvious how much money he was wasting.

She was getting upset...she wanted one of those plushies. She was also determined to not give up, it simply wasn't something she did. So passing over more money she took the darts and threw them, as gently as she could, and finally- finally! A balloon went pop and she was picking out her prize.

But EunKyung decided to try agian, maybe just due to the fact she'd just won and surge of endorphines, or she was trying in the hopes of winning something for her younger cousin back in Korea....either way she was going to try again...but she was so happy!

Maybe he'd have more luck winning with the balloons? Lorne couldn't have but notice how they floated so tantalizingly in the breeze. So many colors. Another chance to win a prize for someone he cared about, maybe - only not. Not a single balloon. He sighed to himself, trying to muster the spirit to keep excited. It wasn't like he was a sore loser or anything, just... it would be easier if he hadn't made the mistake of coming alone.

Still nothing! Di hoped and prayed that she wasn't running out of steam. It felt too early for that! But maybe she did need a break; perhaps go on a ride or something?
