Username: nasaiki Student Name: Jin
Number Rolled: 14- chimera
Defining Trait: Jin was super happy when she saw what rare she had rolled. Her godfather and some of her dad’s best friends where Chimera so she could write all about them.
‘ chimera’ she wrote, “ are very tall a lot of them seem to be in the 7’ range. They also have really long and strong tails that can either end in spikes or fluff. The fluff is really soft but the spikes can cut you depending on how sharp the Chimera keep them. They also have horns on top of their head that range in different sizes, some of them are kind of short and stubby and others are long and elegant. They also have really large wings but unlike fallen their wings are more nezubat looking and stronger. They can actually carry some one for a really short time with their wings and some times even the wing membrane is see through. They also breathe fire and they have sharp claws as well’
There that should list all the important main traits they had. Otherwise the chimera looked like her with a face and two arms and two legs.

Username: nasaiki Student Name: vanhi
Number Rolled: 7- fey
Defining Trait: Vanhi chewed on the pencil. Did she actually know any... her thought trailed off as she remembered ren. He was sort of tall for a fey or so she had heard but he was a good example/
‘Fey are winged people who are on the short side most of the time. They have a flower on their chest they need to take care of and make sure it gets the right kind of light. There are medications and spells now to keep them more healthy but the flower often indicates what type of fey they are. Some can be solar where they need daylight and some are called lunar. Solar fey tend to look like butterflies in their wing looks and lunar fey like months. Both types of fey have antenae on the top of their head that will wiggle to show their emotion. They also have white sclera but so do a lot of other races” hmm that should be enough. She had mentioned the flowers, the wings, and the antenae right? Yep.

Username: nasaiki Student Name: Leto
Number Rolled: 15- cherub
Courtship Time!: Leto made a weird breath sound as he stared at the race he got. He didn’t actually know any cherub, which was probably what the assignment was about. Broadening one;s knowledge of other species.
‘Cherub are split into two different kinds; solar and lunar. Solar cherub like to throw grand balls where they dance and flirt with those they fancy. They play cute coy games like one such game where the person is blindfolded and depending on how you like a person is where you kiss them and the person then has to guess how you kissed them.
Lunar cherub are more career driven. They value blood lines and loyalty over feelings and heart. Often they are in an arranged marriage before birth and when a lunar cherub does fall in love they have to keep it concealed away and private. Public displays of affection are looked down upon’
Leto placed down the pencil and frowned. Lunar cherubs kind of had it tough but if that was their customs and culture he would just adapt. No reason to judge them.

Number Rolled: 6- baphomet
Courtship Time!: Huginn started at his number. He had been hoping to get Grimm or litch. Something he could help his siblings with when they started to fall in love however the spirt of the assignment was to understand other races better. However when he cracked open his book there wasn’t really much listed in the way of courtship for baphomets.
“There isn’t much written about baphomet courtship however what is written stats that a typical courtship includes gifts and acts of generosity towards not only the object of affection but their friends and family. It is to show they are committed and willing to belong to the family and community their possible future loved one belongs to. Unsurprisingly this leadds to baphomets being popular as love interests with other races.”
Huginn wrote. It seemed like even In their courtship being generous and hospitable was the main key. Hopefully this would be enough. He covered everything he could find.

December 2018 Academy: Social Studies Senior 1. Student randomizes between 1 and 23. The number rolled is the race they get. 2. Student thinks of the governement from the race they've been assigned and describes it. 3. Word count minimum is 200 words! 4. ??? Profit!
Username: nasaiki Student Name: oiche
Number Rolled: 5- dryad
Defining Trait: Oiche wasn’t really familiar with any dryads so it was a good opportunity to research about them. Her mother had been part fey and the hybrid wondered if she had known any. However knowing about their culture would help with talking to their dead so she opened the books and started researching.
‘Dryad seem to be split into four different types: succulent, fern, arboreal, and floral with settlements all through out above. They seem to govern themselves as individual groups and each group is ruled by a shaman. However there are cases when all four groups get together to decide something for the good of the race, such as during wars or for significant treaties. ‘
Oiche paused writing here and looked at her word count. She was supposed to write a certain amount of words but the rest of the information about governement was kind of about the sham dying. She supposed that counted as picking the next leader...
‘A shaman is extremely intune to nature and can sense when their timing is coming. They silently watch members of their own community and see how each one of them treats the world around them. Some one who shows they are a fine upstanding citizen. If they agree a festival is thrown which at the end the shaman takes the pupil into seculction to pass on their secrets”
There as much about governement as she could find.

Username: nasaiki Student Name: Oran
Number Rolled: 13- kumiho
Defining Trait: Oran always thought that the kumiho were gorgeous, and their fluff always looked so soft. So she was happy to get them for her assignment, never mind she always loved learning about new cultures. However she did frown when she got out the research books. There wasn’t much to work with but she wood pad it as much as she could.
‘Kumiho do not recognize a formal government structure. They govern their society through their villages which are all lead by that village’s respected heads and elders. The society is split into social castes, however one can move up the social ladder by marriage arrangements or through hard work. Family is the central feature of their culture and this shows in the government as well as government revolves around familial ties and respect. In fact villages are made up from a dozen or so averages and built around the larger estate of the elders in some cases’
Oran bit on the end of the pencil shuffling through books. She wasn’t sure if this would be enough but kumiho where a secretive race when they first came to below’s attention. Counting the wording again she added a few padding words to bring it up to what she needed. Researching cultures could be hard work.

Number Rolled: 6. Baphomet
Courtship Time!: (RP Response) Baphomets...Jane wasn't too sure why she had to do research on their courting habits. Why, her heart was already set on someone that was a dryad. Nowhere was she like the race with hooves and a small bushy tail. Her love was tall strong and plant like. Completely different. But maybe...she could get some ideas from another race. A way to get closer to Lilly. Her eyes scoured through the information. They liked to give gifts to...everyone? Well, those that they were close to. It was to show how much they cared for them. If that was the case, then did price matter? Or were baphomets more concerned about the person themselves. Strange, it didn't say. They were also popular as a romantic interest for many races. All because of their...gifting habits? Her brows scrunched up. Maybe she'd have to get Lilly some gifts. Would she like that? There was only one way to find out.

Courtship Time!: (RP Response)Zeke wasn't the type to actually do his assignment. Not unless there was some sort of reward or goal involved. This time, there was. Learn about courtship practices in order to degrade and manipulate others? He was down. There was absolutely no complaint when he was given the race of "doll" as his assignment. One of his "friends" was a doll. This would be interesting... 'Dolls don't have any ritual. Instead, they're a bunch of copy cats and do whatever their love interest is into like the spineless race that they are,' he smirked at his own handy work, placing his pencil down before picking it up again. ' "Research" is still being done to learn more about how they act, but we all know that they're probably blank and do whatever someone else does. ' he snorted to himself. There wasn't much more to be said about them. Spineless brainless fools that they were.

Number Rolled: 6. Baphomet
Defining Trait: (RP Response) Liv tapped her pen on the desk. The baphomet government, huh? She wasn't too great at politics and government. To her it was a lot of she said he said. There wasn't any fact. The slaugh wasn't about to turn down any assignment though. Her grades were too important for her to dismiss any assignment. 'The baphomet's use the Great Council for decision making when they think that it's absolutely necessary but they have their own government that they prefer to use. Baphomets were divided into three different parts--the Alycone (now disbanded due to the great 50 year war), the Bramblewood and the Moonspear. Each one has "Rexes", who used to be more influential before the 50 year war, but nonetheless they are still like their overall leaders. Then they have elders which choose to take care of the local affairs and are lesser in power compared to the rexes. Currently there has been uneasiness due to this loss, but they still have maintained their governing ways somehow.' It was all very...vague, and not specific. She would have liked to go into detail about both Brmblewood and the Moonspear to show how similar and different they were but for the life of her she couldn't find the information. This would have to do. She sighed and placed her pen down with a clatter. A shame.

Username: belloblossom Student Name: Aisling
Number Rolled: 21 - Chomps
Defining Trait: Aisling had yet to meet a Chomp properly, so she had to remember what she had seen in picture books. Closing all three of her eyes to better picture it she said.
"Chomps are big. Even bigger than Spectrefoxes." Her own Spectrefox, Ginger, who had accompanied her everywhere since the Winter Solstice festival, sat next to her. Ginger was one of the biggest creatures she knew about, beyond any adults she'd met. "Also Chomps have, um... and their claws are detached from their body, rather than attached like fingers. Detached, means that they float, kind of." She opened her eyes and tried to mime the floating claws, but it was too tricky to do. "Anyway, it's something like that. Their tails are detached and float too, but only the tip bit. Oh and they have horns! Really big horns and these side horns... No they're not side horns, um... it's right up against their ribs and..." Aisling smacked her forehead with her palm. "No wait, it IS their ribs! Like, they have exposed ribs! Only a few and they're fragile." She took a deep breath. "So, the way you can tell a Chomp is a Chomp is if they're gigantic, gave floaty claws and a tail, have horns and if their ribs are kind of exposed. There!" Aisling announced and looked up at her teacher with a grin. "Did I do it right?"

Username: Aria Starstone Student Name: Niamh
Number Rolled: 15. Cherub
Courtship Time!:
Niamh's expression was one of disbelief. She had to write about how some random race courted potential partners? She was not expecting ANYONE to ever court her, nor was she planning on courting anyone... Who would want an awkward, overly tall weird girl with too many familiars like herself? She sighed in irritation, but stood up and went to get her slip of paper from the bag. She stared at it, and mumbled under her breath about how unlucky she was... She had to do the race that had different courtship rules, depending on the TYPE of Cherub it was.
She headed off the library and got to work on her research, then wrote up her paper, turning it in within a day... It was not like she had a lot of other things going on in her life to take up her free time.
"Solar Cherubs court with balls, using games and that old fashioned concept of a 'dance card' to try to indicate who they are interested in. It's an involved, drawn out affair, and they do not directly say who they are courting. They invite those they are interested in, however, to games like their Ribbon game, which involves blindfolds, and kisses, as well as a guessing game for the one who was kissed.
The Lunar cherubs, on the other hand, have no such games or events to handle. Instead, they are generally in arranged marriages, sometimes even before they are born. They do not seem to have much fondness for romance or passion, and indeed, they find it socially unacceptable to make public displays of affection."

Username: belloblossom Student Name: Rosalie
Number Rolled: 18 - Nixie
Defining Trait: Rosalie had picked up her writing utensil and written up some bullet points about what she remembered about the government of Nixies. If she was going to go up in front of the class, or even just discuss it in a small group with her teacher presiding over it, she wanted to be prepared. She supposed her teacher meant, though didn't specifically say, that this was to be studying pure Nixies, rather than Nixie hybrids. Because then their government could be a mashup of different cultures. She added that at the top of her paper as "Nixie hybrids --> Mashup cultures." Before she moved below it and started writing other such points.
"Cities = Colonies" she jotted down followed closely by "Submerged or small floating cities, ruled by one Elder as voted on by said colony inhabitants." She paused, trying to remember the specifics of how Nixie colonies got submerged. "Permission needed to submerge colony??" She wrote, unable to recall all the facts about it. Hopefully one of her classmates would be able to remember whatever she didn't and she would still be able to pass this class activity. Looking around for her teacher to see if her classmates were being called upon to explain their individual governments, or if this could become a small group activity. She shifted over slightly, folding her paper in half and putting her writing utensil down so that she could ask her neighbor. She should've been paying better attention at the start of class, then she wouldn't have to ask!

April 2019 Academy: Social Studies Junior Username: Panda Moor Student Name: Caper
Number Rolled: 19 - Shade
Courtship Time!:
Caper sunk into his chair. He had been given Shades as his race to learn about. The Geist didn't know of any Shades, probably given they were Daydreams. Of course, he knew of them, but he had never interacted with one. For this assignment, he would need to greatly rely on his textbook.
The boy didn't get far into his book before something resonated inside of him. 'Is this describing Shades... or me?' he thought worryingly, sighing internally. He too had so many anxieties.
After reading the page fully, he began to write. He detailed their hesitance to court as best he could, careful to reword what the textbook said. Their courting often happened over a longer period, as they wanted to be careful of their own feelings. Shade hybrids also didn't seem the common, given how it emphasized how scared of other races they tended to be. Caper did his best to sum it all up in a respectful manner - Shades liked courting slowly and with serious intentions. Shades + Shades or Shades + Chomps make the best matches when it comes to courting!
