As Niko went on to the last techniques, she drew her katana. She was unsure what this one's name was going to be. Still it was nice to have it and be able to use it. She also had another one as well, something she was really excited about. She hadn't wielded two in a while so she knew it's be fun to do so again. She would then sheath the blade after a couple of tries of the previous techniques. Niko had them down for the most part, but with most of them being defensive she wasn't one hundred percent sure.
When the opponent dashed in, this was the counter technique for it. The opponent would run right into their blade as they met them head on as well. It was a quick way to stop an advance effectively. They could even add an element to the attack as well.
The next technique was similar to a taijutsu technique she had began studying. This technique made it so they could have a mirror image of themselves. This reflection was based off where they were and was more of a smoke a mirrors kind of technique. The good thing was that they could either escape of misdirect the attack made against them quickly.
Finally, the last technique on the scroll was designed to block ninjutsu. It was a flame spin that flows out in front of them blocking the technique used against them. It was a great move and an even better counter attack. All in all this style was not bad. It was a good read even for Niko. She smiled as she rolled the scroll and whistled to Hisashi. He came barreling over in joy. Then, after a quick thought of her mother, were off to do some more training.

A Kogarashi rogue stood upon the lake- engaged in battle with one of the village's patroling Shinobi. Their kunai were interlocked in a deadly struggle of strength. The rogue may have come out the victor had Karuto's fist not impacted the man's side and sent him sailing backwards end over end. Of course the blow was mostly harmless- it was purely to get the fiend away from the less skilled shinobi. It was time for a fight.

The kogarashi agent balanced himself when he landed from the blow. What bad luck he had to be caught by the muscle man. He really didn't want to deal with this. His hands formed a seal as angelic wings spread from his back. The light from the wings was overwhelming as he hovered twenty feet in the air. "Let's not let this drag." He said as arrows of light flew forth from his wings. The arrows appeared as senbon as thousands of them flew toward Karuto. Meanwhile, along the shadows of the light, a shadow lingered through. It slithered along to bind onto Karuto's should he not dodge.

The light show was surprising, he would admit that. The light was more annoying than anything, to be honest. As beams of gathered light formed and then launched from his newly formed wings the Raiken seemed to be pierced by the attack- that was, until, the image of Karuto flickered and faded. He had moved so quickly to the side that he had left an after-image in his wake. The real Karuto was 20 feet to the right now and entirely aware of the shadow closing in on him- an attack he had seen once before! "Well" He said, crouching down and dropping into the trademarked hero pose of one arm across his chest and the other straight out with both palms down "That wasn't very angelic of you!" Quick as a bolt of lightning Karuto raced towards the rogue- making sure to steer in a wide arc around the shadow. What a drag. When Karuto closed the distance between the two, the rogue dropped to the ground. His wings existed as their own entity, however, and took the form of a bird like clone. Needless to say, the enhanced strength of Karuto's punch caused the bird to break. When the clone landed to the ground, however, a single handseal caused several dozen spikes of shadow to erupt from the ground. As Karuto's shadow was above his own now, it would make the technique exceptionally difficult to dodge. However, the rogue was not aiming to kill necessarily the man. That was too much effort. Instead, he just wanted to impale him enough that he gave up the ghost and could allow him to escape. After all, it was kind of a big deal if he could get out of here or not.
His fist cleaved the bird in two. The sight of the light that made it up dissipating around him would have normally been pretty but in battle, it was just distracting. The real rogue had escaped below him, thinking himself safe if he could keep a distance. The guy had no idea what his real power was but it was time to show him. Lighting surrounded Karuto's body as he donned his Kaiser Armor. Bringing his knee to his chest he kicked upwards, condensing the air beneath his fight and shooting himself straight down towards the spikes. While falling, he extended one leg and rotated himself over. As he neared the ground the spikes would find themselves more than unable to pierce his skin- in fact, they were shattering on contact! Like a meteor, he fell to the ground. As he drew in close with the rogue he completed his rotation and brought his heel down upon the head of the terrorist "Guillotine Drop!" He called out as the blow connected. Using the reflective force, he would kick off and backflip away- landing in a crouch with one knee and one fist on the ground a few feet away.
"Thank goodness that's done" He would say as he arose, dusting off his hands and his pants.

What a dr- his thoughts were interrupted when his neck snapped by the collision. It was over. Karuto, the man of a village who was instructed not to kill anyone if possible by the village leader, had killed a rogue who had no intentions of killing and thus could have been easily subdued. It was nice to see such hypocrisy so early in the day. You know what's also nice to see so early in the day? A demon!
The body burst into a million pieces when the seal was broken. Smoke covered the location as though it were the effects of the summoning jutsu. When the smoke cleared, a dolphin horse manifested. It flexed the muscles in its legs as it was finally allowed to stretch. It was free. The monster smiled as it stood on its two legs. It neighed loudly as it then brought both of its front legs onto the ground. The resulting collision caused an earthquake which the whole village felt. In addition to the quake, an explosion of steam erupted from the demon. This steam would push everything away and deal S-ranked overwhelming to anything inside of its boundaries. It expanded thirty feet from all directions around the demon. Karuto was going to need to move fast in order to not be in the danger range.
He started to approach the guy- restrain him so that when he woke up there wouldn't be any more fuss about him when, without much warning, his body shattered like a piece of glass. Smoke littered the area and from the concealment rose a beast. A mix between some sort of ram-horse-dolphin thing. It took a moment, but Karuto recognized the monster for what it truly was- a Demon. His jaw slacked open as he stared in amazement at the thing's size...it was colossal. He needed to run! Go and get the sealers and Chie! They would know what to d-
His thought process was cut off by multiple screams around him. His head snapped to his right and found a number of civilians as well as novice shinobi. Instantly, all form of retreat was banished from his mind. If he did so it would undoubtedly mean their death. As the Five Tails reared up and slammed its hooves into the ground Karuto took a deep breath, closing his eyes for just a moment. He would beat this. He would hold it here. It was...it was all he could do.
As the beast created its powerful steam and the accompanying earthquake it might have thought itself safe in its bubble. At least, that was until Karuto broke through the cover it provided- sailing through the air with one fist cocked back. He was a bullet, using a level of speed and strength he had not used since his fights against Masato. The Five Tails didn't know what hit it. He punched the monster in the side of its face and sent it reeling. As Karuto dropped to the ground he settled low, ready for a counter attack.
With a painful yell and enraged neigh the monster recovered and set it's sights on Karuto. It lowered it's head and charged. Karuto, however, stood his ground. He extended his hands outwards and met the creature head on. The force behind the charge was staggering- more strength than Karuto had ever felt. His legs pumped as he was slowly pushed back. He heaved with everything he had- veins in his neck bulging out with the effort "I...WONT...LET YOU!!" He called out as he strained against the demon's pure might. It was like trying to hold up a mountain! But...but if he could keep it here the others would have a chance to escape. Yes, he must endure. He would endure!!!

Koutetsu made his way up the side of the dormant volcano towards the lake. A cacophony of sound reached his ears, the sound of a stomping, roaring beast. Attacked by a cult, attacked by a rogue organization, and now this. The young genin admired the sakura trees in bloom even as he made it to top. Then he saw it. "What is that?" He said to himself, before a memory of his time in the academy when the class went over tailed beasts. "A Bijuu," he whispered to himself. He looked closely and could see someone battling with it. I'm low on chakra, I don't know if I can assist, but I can't leave them alone. Koutetsu made his way down towards the battle zone.

It was clear right away that something was very wrong. No sooner had Sumiko returned from her vacation when things in the village took a massive turn for the worse. Plumes of smoke rose all over the village and panicked faces filled the smoke-clogged streets. Shinobi of all ranks dashed too and from, all trying to figure out what was going on. Fires raged in side streets and the ground shook across the village as the sounds of battle echoed overhead.
The smoke rising in the village stung Sumiko's eyes as she tried to make her way to the high ground to get a better view of what was going on. Cries and screams surrounded her, deafening her senses further. Sumiko tried to flag down other passing shinobi but they all seemed to ignore her or simply had more pressing concerns. Sumiko simply struggled on against the flow of people fleeing from the area around the Caldera Lake but eventually reached its edges.
As Sumiko made it to the edge of the lake, she was thrown to the ground by a violent explosion near the middle of the lake. Plumes of steam shot up in every direction and the entire village seemed to rattle and shake from the sheer force of the explosion. A foul energy clung to the air as Sumiko frantically flapped her arms in the air to clear the mist that was forming from the steam. As the air before her cleared, all the color in Sumiko's face seemed to be drained away. At first, she thought the ground was still shaking as her body trembled in fear, but in reality, it was her own legs shaking, threatening to give out beneath her as she struggled to contain herself. Tattekuso.Sumiko clenched her fist and gritted her teeth, steadying herself. The creature before her was something she taught every young academy student about: A Bijuu.
This one appeared to be the Five-Tailed Beast: the Gobi. From what she could remember, it preferred to attack using high speed and steam based abilities. Luckily, the beast seemed to be preoccupied for the moment fighting some kind of man-ogre crossbreed. Sumiko hoped that whoever that was, they could buy a few moments for her to come up with some kind of plan. Sumiko looked around, scanning the area. There were still dozens of lower ranked shinobi around and civilians that hadn't been able to flee yet or had been wounded. In all the confusion, Sumiko caught sight of a familiar face rushing headlong toward the beast.
Sumiko took off running, coming up next to Koutetsu. She grabbed him by the arm, pulling him to a dead stop. "Koutetsu, stop. That's a very high-level Bijuu. You aren't ready to fight that yet and I can tell you have already been using a lot of chakra." Sumiko then released his arm and motioned to the other groups of genin and wounded. "The best way you can help right now is to rally the other genin and carry as many of the wounded to safety as you can. This is your mission. Saving lives is more important than beating this creature right now." Lines of worry stretched across Sumiko's face as she looked at Koutetsu. She closed her eyes for a moment and smiled at him, giving him a thumbs up. For what it was worth, she hoped whatever false confidence her smile conveyed would put Koutetsu at ease. "I'll buy you as much time as I can. You just do your best and try not to die, alright? It'll take more than a demon to worry me." Sumiko turned her attention back to the beast, glad to see that whoever was fighting it was still holding it at bay. "One last thing. No hero stuff. If someone tells you to run, you run as fast as you can and don't look back. That one's an order." The smile on her face disappeared as she spoke, replaced with a look of concentration but a small tear began to form on the corner of her eye.
Sumiko charged toward the demon now. She didn't look back to see if Koutetsu had followed her orders or not. Her only focus now was on the tailed beast and slowing it down as much as she could. Her own sealing abilities were nowhere near strong enough to completely seal it away, but she could possibly restrain it for a short period of time if she could get close enough to it. The man and the demon were now grappling with each other and the man was slowly but surely being pushed back the creature's immense might. Luckily this created the opening that Sumiko needed to intervene in the fight.
"Whoever you are, hold onto it for a few more seconds." She called out to the man grappling with the demon. Sumiko came to a sliding stop only a few feet away from the pair. Her whole hand seemed to flare with energy as she slapped it on the ground, almost directly underneath the tailed beast. A massive seal then suddenly appeared on the ground. From the edges of the seal, a series of massive chains erupted from the ground, coiling around the demon, attempting to pin it to the ground. At the same time, another set of chains appeared, this time from Sumiko's own body, wrapping their way around the demon's head and neck. "We need to keep it here for a few more minutes. I have the genin trying to evacuate as many of the wounded as possible." She only hoped that the two of them would be enough. The rest of the village was already embroiled in a massive battle, so the chances of back up were slim.

All of its momentum was funneled to one point. Karuto stood holding back the will of one of the strongest entities in existence. Like a boulder against a river, he succeeded at first. However, just as what occurs in nature, the river will always prevail in the end. Its hooves dug into the ground. Its head lowered. Karuto would find himself losing his footing. Assuming that he completely succumbed, he would find himself lifted from the ground. From that moment, the demon would toss its head to throw Karuto as far away from it as possible. It finally found freedom, and did not plan on succumbing to subjugation once more. That was when the chains appeared. Its legs were bound, followed by the torso and then eventually the head. Its eyes caught briefly the woman who dared to subdue it. Did she plan to seal it once more? It wanted to be free! Steam erupted from the entity. From the proximity of its body erupted a heavy cloud of steam. The steam moved to dissolve the chains which bound it. Should Sumiko not move, she would also find herself dissolved. The metal of the chains would take longer to dissolve than the flesh of the girl, which meant that even if she chose to stand and die her seals would last a bit longer.
(Since this demon has no techniques I like, I am making up stuff for it. S+ ranked toss to Karuto. S ranked overwhelming steam cloud exploding sixty feet from the demon. Flesh dissolves in one post, metal in two.)
Holding this thing back was like trying to stop water with his bare hands- success could not be measured at the point of effort. It would remain to be seen if his attempt bore any results...although at this point he doubted he would be around to see it. As he continued to struggle a woman arrived at his side- he couldn't hear what she said as he was struggling so hard he could not make out the words over the roar of the beast but still, she was the welcomed sight he had ever laid eyes o "Lady!" He yelled out through gritted teeth "I don't know who you are but I think I'm in love with y-F*CK!" He yelled out as his legs were finally overcome and he was headbutted with the force of a mountain falling on his chest. The beast then followed through with the blow and launched Karuto away from it like a bullet from a gun. The Raiken went sailing back, crashing through multiple buildings before finally coming to rest embedded in a brick wall.
The pain was all-encompassing. He had at least three broken ribs...and he couldn't move his left arm so well anymore. Coughing, he spit up a glob of thick blood and mucus. He weakly raised his head and looked through the distinctly Raiken shaped holes he had made to see the Demon rear back and unleash another steam attack. 'You gotta move! Fight's not done yet! You got one good arm- use it!' But he didn't want to! He didn't want to die today! He had so much left to do. He couldn't beat this- couldn't win.
Karuto pulled himself out of the indention he had made in the wall, dropping to his right arm and his knees as his left dangled limply. That movement alone caused him pain. Slowly, he began to rise.
Yes, he didn't want to die. But he had to keep fighting for those that were unable to. And, yes, it was true he couldn't win. But the fact of the matter was he didn't need to. He just needed to try. Looking down, the Raiken brushed a tear from his eye and gritted his teeth "Because that's what a Hero is. Someone who keeps trying"
Karuto's Aura of Lightning Flared back up once more but this time he pushed it even further beyond it's power by augmenting it with a version of pure chakra. He was dumping the last of his resources into this attack- attempting to deal as much damage as he could before the beast could respond.
His limp arm dangling at his sides Karuto closed the distance between himself and the Demon in an instant- outpacing even the Body Flicker. At this point, the Raiken appeared to teleport around the battlefield. "I WILL NOT ALLOW YOU TO DESTROY MY VILLAGE!" He yelled out in a primal and guttural roar. The area around him began to crackle with an intense lightning storm from the pure might exerted through his aura. The ground shook, the dust swirled away from him. It was the Raiken's Last Stand.
In the next moment he had dove into the steam- feeling the searing heat even through his Kaiser Armor Stage Two. Somehow, it was burning him regardless. The pain was immense but he bore it regardless. He positioned himself underneath the belly of the creature. With a roar he delivered a spinning 360 uppercut of such force the creature would be launched high into the air. Bending down, Karuto would then chase after it, reappearing above the creatures as it sailed upwards "GYAAAAHHHHH!!!" He would yell out as his fist charged with Chakra. He delivered a blow of immense power at the creatures back- countering it's upward trajectory and sending it back down. It wasn't a solo attack though- the speed at which it happened created half a dozen solid afterimages who each delivered their own earth-shattering punch! All in all, The Gobi was struck 7 times with a blow that could rend steel in half. As it's upwards momentum was canceled and it was sent spiraling back down to the air Karuto used his Air Step technique to chase after it. Before it hit the ground Karuto grabbed it's horns and used the last of his strength to throw the monster at the ground with everything he had- driving it into the earth as hard as he could. Of course, Karuto hit the ground as well.
The Raiken bounced like a rock, impacting the earth and skipping. He came to rest at the base of a crumbled wall- his head leaning against the smooth stone. He was now openly bleeding from multiple gashes. Blood was flowing over one of his eyes. The steam had caused harsh burns on the left side of his body and the list on injuries now included the complete breaking of his right leg. "Heh" He smirked as the pain enveloped him "Take...that...monster..."

The genin paused on his way down the slope as someone grabbed his arm. Snapped out of his thoughts, he turned to face the individual. A familiar face from his time at the academy. A small smile graced his weary face before disappearing in the face of the serious situation. "Sumiko." he said, but was stopped by her smile. Koutetsu felt his face heat up, but shook it off. He watched her turn her back to him, before running off towards the demon. Koutetsu turned to follow directions, but was drawn back to the battle at hand. He watched Karuto-sensei be launched into the air and the billowing of steam envelop Sumiko. A flash of Anger graced Koutetsu's face as he thought about losing another person he cared about. He closed his eyes and grit his teeth as he reached for what remained of his chakra reserves.

Black steel pored out of his body and coated his skin, creating a heavy armor to protect himself. Koutetsu took ponderous steps forward before charging into the mist to find Sumiko. Making his way over to her location, the sounds of battle deafening through his armor. Even through the layer of armor he had on, Koutetsu could feel the intense heat of the steam cloud and immediately began sweating. Reaching Sumiko, he would attempt to help her escape the steam cloud by carrying her and making several jumps to clear the steam. When he would land, he would quickly let the armor break off as not let the steam coating it eat its way to his flesh.

For a brief and fleeting moment, it seemed as if the combined might of the chains and Karuto would be enough to hold the demon in place. But this illusion quickly faded. With a massive amount of force, the demon heaved and tossed Karuto aside like a rag doll. Sumiko watch as he sailed through the air, powerless to help. Her own body struggled to keep the demon restrained and every fiber in her body felt as if it was going to tear.
Once Karuto had been sent flying, the demon had quickly turned its attention to Sumiko. Its eyes locked on her body. It struggled beneath its restraints for a moment and then decided on its course of attack. A massive cloud of steam began to rapidly expand out of its body like before. Sumiko watched as it almost reached her, accepting her fate. If I can buy even a few more minutes with these seals, it'll be worth it. I just hope everyone else can make it out okay. She thought to herself. Sumiko closed her eyes and prepared for the warm embrace of the expanding steam cloud.
The cloud never reached her. Or more accurately, Sumiko felt a sudden force grab her around the waist and hoist her into the air. Sumiko opened her eyes and looked up, expecting to see the mountain of a man that had been fighting the Gobi but was shocked to see Koutetsu instead. Tattekuso. Even when ordered to stay away from a battle, he still charges in headlong. I suppose I can't blame him. When they landed, Sumiko stood up, placing her hand on his shoulder. "Thanks Koutetsu. I guess I owe you. Take it easy though, you look ready to pass out."
Sumiko turned her attention back to the demon just in time to see it take a beating from Karuto, who coincidentally, was knocked clear of the demon by his own attack. "If you can still run Koutetsu, go get that man and try to get him over to where we are now. I'll keep the demon busy."
Sumiko took her hand off Koutetsu's shoulder and stepped in the direction of the demon, forming a handseal. Splitting her remaining chakra in half, Sumiko created a shadow clone next to herself. Both the clone and the real Sumiko then began to perform a series of identical handseals. The pair finished at the same time, each holding the same seal and the pair spoke in unison. "Suiton: Suise no Jutsu" The water in the lake suddenly began to churn and swirl near the pair. It would then form a solid wall and surge across the ground towards the demon. The first effect of the wall would be to collide with the steam still in the air, cooling it and mixing it with the lake water. The second would be to attempt to completely submerge the demon which was still partially restrained by the Beast Sealing Technique.
