Kelvir was very quick indeed to join the festivities. Parties were great! He loved the atmosphere of everyone having a good time, and all the lovely outfits were going to be fun to look at too. He threw on a good suit (he was relieved to find it hadn't gotten dusty), picked up a star-shaped mask, and headed to the ball.
As soon as he got there, he nearly walked face first into something big and plush. When he got his bearings, he noticed the object was a large black Flitterat plush. It was soft, yet somehow, strange. Kelvir shrugged and accepted the plush as a party favor. Hey, who could refuse free?
Kayndie was fiddling with her lovely plushie, which she adored when a movement caught her eye. She was approaching a small table near the exit to relax for a few minutes before getting something cool to drink when a familiar appeared out of nowhere from the tabletop! Stunned she just stared.
Anaeia was still wondering about the mysterious person who bumped into her when it happened again! She twirled around so fast she slipped and fell to the cool dance floor with a loud OH! when she looked up the stranger was gone.
Callie Mae was looking for Cyndal to tell her about her encounter with a mysterious person whispering in her ear when she rushed past a chair. The chair began to move as if something was in it or sitting on it. Looking back a familiar was there which a second before it wasn't! It was staring at her as if in challenge, so Callie Mae swooped it up and kept going.

Arms outstretched, body swaying, tail twitching the music was soothing to her and she enjoyed getting lost in the rhythm. Pirotting she opened her arms and suddenly she felt something being placed in her hands, opening her eyes there was a some kind of plush thing. It looked ratty but cute. Laughing she bowed to it and kept on dancing.
Cuileann was laughing heartedly as she walked away from the tin barrel. She was somewhat wet and wandered in the direction of the ladies room so she could dry her dress when she over heard someone speaking about a Pumpka Patch! Listening in and slowing her pace she heard details about where this patch was.
Lokni had his new familiar trailing behind him when suddenly he heard a noise like a squeak turning around he saw his new friend trying to butt the head of a Candy Corn Fennekit! "Stop that! They may want to be friends!" grabbing his new familiar he bent over to scold it gently. It seemed to be upset but at the same time territorial. "We can make a new friend can't we?" "If they become our friend does not mean I won't be your friend, ok?" with that the Fennekit screeched softly and began to follow Lokni as he walked off.
Iason was on his way out the door to get that fresh cool air he needed when someone taps his shoulder and whispers something in his ear. Stunned he lost his footing and began to fall forward and could not see who was speaking.
Eberly was well on his to the door to head home to take care of his new familiar friend, when a tap stopped him. A tap on his shoulder! Trying to maneuver his new friend so he could turn around a barely there whisper was heard but not the words. The familiar was getting upset and before he could turn around the person was gone.
Lusye was super-excited for the Masquerade Ball! She had a lovely dress all set up for this event. There was something so romantic about the idea of everyone dressed in their finest, yet not knowing who anyone was. Well, her ears would still be visible, so she'd probably get hit with "what is a Goblin doing wearing such a beautiful dress) eventually, but she wasn't fussed about that at this point. She picked up a colorful Venetian-style mask on the way.
As soon as she entered the room, a plushie entered her vision, as though it was dropped on her from above. She caught it and gave it a look over; it was red, with green eyes and an orange handprint. A bit of an odd design statement, but it would find a place in her plushie collection. Maybe not near the Owlbears, but some place.
Ostander was still trying to figure out what that potion was he received, not paying attention to what was in front of him. A smell assaulted his nose, a sweet candy smell then a solid back of someone he bumped into head first. Bouncing backwards he looks up to see them wink and run off in the crowd. "What just happened?"
Alatheia found a seat at a table close to the large doors and relaxed. Her plushie sitting on the table in front of her she began to let her attention drift about the room. Not really noticing anything in particular, something brushed up against her foot. Glancing down she spied a Pumpka! "Oh how darling! A Pumpkae! Are you lost?" it appeared to look at her and smiled. It sat down right next to her and whenever she moved it did. "Guess I have a new friend" she said.
Kamiaela was intrigued with the bottle of liquid someone had handed her when she entered the ballroom. Studying it for some clue as to what it was, she did not see where she was walking. She sometimes gets lost in her research and she stepped on something's tail. A screech was heard and she looked down to see a beautiful colored Flitterat sitting on the floor. Feeling bad she bent down to examine it's tail for injuries. Seeing it was hurt, it's tail appeared sore she carefully picked it up and headed for the doors to leave. She would take it home and heal it.
Cadhla her mind on the new familiar that seemed to claim her was wandering around trying to relax and enjoy herself when suddenly another Vespercat stepped out into the pathway of her Vespercat. Staring at one another it seemed that a fight was envetiable. Reaching down, she put herself in between them and ordered them to not attack. "You can both be my familiars, be friends!" with that she turned and walked off.
Su was late to the ball as usual. She was never on time for anything important, not that she was lazy she just always had issues. Walking into the ballroom it was a glorious sight. The decorations were beautiful, the band playing a soothing song and waiters wading about in the crowd to deliver drinks. Speaking of a waiter, one suddenly loomed in front of her with a small tray full of bottles. Shrugging to herself she reached out and took the rainbow one. Not knowing what to do with it, she slipped it in her small pocket on the side of her dress and walked towards the dance floor.
The Mask Cradling the shivering vespercat, she mingled with quite a few people until she stumbled upon a large tin barrel. For quite a few moments she watched as various nightmares attempted to grab an apple. The fact that none of them had taken off their mask made it more amusing to watch and difficult to achieve. She had to hold back a rather embarrassing snort when one of them leaned a bit too far over the barrel and accidentally dunked themselves.
Right as she was trying to make sure she didn't laugh, one of the masked attendees approached her. "It's more fun to play than to watch," they told her with a sly grin. They must be a volunteer of some sort, to get people to try it out. Normally she would, but she wasn't sure her new pet would enjoy the activity. Gesturing to the vespercat, which was beginning to calm, she shook her head. "I'd love to, but I want this little fella calmed down first."
The Mask Not far away from the plushie booth was a large, water-filled tin. As there were apples inside, she correctly assumed it was for apple bobbing. Moments after she had deduced this, a masked figure approached her. They were quick to try and get her to join in, sensing her interest.
"I'll give it a go!" she declared, approaching the bin. Making sure her mask was secure, she waited for the person ahead of her to finish before closing her eyes and dunking her face in. No more than thirty seconds later, she surfaced with a good sized apple in her mouth, and a grin on her face. "Tadaaaa," the words were muffled through the apple, but the bright grin on her face couldn't be mistaken as she pulled the apple away from her mouth. There was a scattering of applause from the surrounding audience and she made a scanty bow before making her way to explore more of the Ball.
The Mask During their first circle around the ball, before they'd even completed half of the circle, someone slid a flitterrat plush into their arms. The thing was rather large, especially for the creature it was based on, and the material was. . .different. They couldn't quite think of a good word to describe it. They weren't a huge collector of such things, and as such wanted to return the toy to it's original owner. Too bad for them, they had disappeared into the crowd. Now what were they to do with this rather large, mostly white plushie?
The Mask Tentatively, he went to go investigate some of the small finger foods they had out for nightmares to nibble on. He wasn't really hungry, but he couldn't stand there in the entrance where everyone who wanted to come or go would have to push past him. Halfway to the array of tables set up as a buffet, he noticed a cockatriel. He had to blink and rub his eyes a few times. He could have sworn he saw it float through the table. But that was impossible!
Suspecting it would attach itself to him if it noticed him, he quickly pivoted and started to hurry away. Not that it had any affect. About three steps further away than he had been, he heard the bird screech and the sound of wings told him it was incoming. Instead of trying to run, he braced himself. Having four cockatriels already, he had a rough idea of how they would act. He hoped at least.
Having maneuvered away from the bobbing apples she wasn’t sure what to do, maybe go in and find a dance partner or possibly check out that baby patch of pumpka. Babies of any type were normally adorable. However there was something that caught her attention, a familiar that phased through something. She frowned and tried to lean closer to take another look, however it seemed like she hadn’t been the one only to see the familiar and suddenly something was leaping into her arms. Ah well that was new. She crouched down to sit on her knees to calm the poor familiar down. It practically cooed and then when she tried to release then, clutched on sharply to her arm.
Okay so she had a new familiar, well at least she had a date for the ball now. ------------------------------------------------------------- Seeing as her new familiar friend was hungry, she walked over to the refreshments to see what she could get her friend. No one seemed to want her attention, something she was quite used to considering how gorgeous her two older siblings were. So she figured it was a pretty safe bet to leave the main bustle of people. The only problem was that something suddenly went tackling into her. It was rather small so she only really staggered for a bit. Looking down she was met with another familiar.
The pumpkar wiggled gleefully and looked up at Soriya, in what she would almost assume was expecting manner. Well her brother was right in that you did make familiar friends really fast during one of these festivals. ----------------------------------------- Okay so a familiar, who might not go transparent and phase through things. Well she had always said that the bakery needed more life. So now she had a familiar along with her son. A rather interesting familiar, ah well she was used to weirder being a medium. Securing her new friend, she decided to go back to hunting Trivia when all of a sudden one of the decorations caught her attention. Wait was that a floating brain?
it was haunted hallows true, but she didn’t think they would go with floating brains. As she was pondering it, it was like her stopping was a signal and as if sincing she was a daydream a Ramykin floated down and nuzzled her cheek before starting to play with her new fennikit….
Trivia was correct when they mentioned that familiars just adopted people like crazy during festivals. It was while she was pondering her question that a chomp asked her to dance. Well she was here to socialize after all.
“I would be very much honored good sir” She replied with a slight curtesy.

------------------------------------------------------------ Okay so the potion was kind of really intriguing Trivia. It had to have an effect to it right? Well festivals were the time of daring and after all it wasn’t like Trivia would be noticed, that’s what the masks were for. So before the geist could talk themselves out of it, they popped the cork off the bottle and down it. Instantly trivia noticed that they were glowing more than usual, in fact after using their cellphone as a mirror he noticed that his eyes and mouth were glowing. Huh, that was kind of cool, and surprisingly the potion tasted like kiwis.
Maybe they could totally find a way to be an annoying strobe light. It was about then that one of the peeps near them started talking about pumpka patches. Baby pumpka looking sounded like fun, maybe he would go outside.
A plushie and a familiar later, Alto wasn’t quite sure this was what he had in mind when it came to going to a masquerade ball. Truthfully, he was probably imagining something more romantic and cheesy. Like finding the love of his life but not knowing who they were. Maybe it was a classmate he hadn’t given a chance. With both their faces covered, they could be themselves and then after realizing what they had in common would be surprised when the masks came off. Like he said, cheesy and a bit overdone.
Ah well he had a new friend and a plushie that was kind of cool. It wasn’t a total bust and fairy tale endings were just for the stories. Lost in his own thoughts, he totally missed the small shriek of terror until something curled around his legs.
“hey there little guy, it’s okay. You’re fine.” Alto replied reaching down carefully to soothe it. --------------------------------------------------------
Solomon took a deep breath. He could do this. He needed more socialization than just a weird junior in a yellow suit. However it was like walking out onto the dance floor was a million miles away. If he didn’t know better, he would assume that it was in the movies where you get tunnel vision and every step made your destination get further and further away. He just didn’t socialize. He was grump and anti social and most people really disliked him. However he was trying to do better, which is why he walked over towards one of the hybrids that was by themselves. Polite thing to do would start with an ice breaker right? "Excuse me, I hope I'm not bothering you but would you like to dance?" He tried. There that should work right?

--------------------------------------------- Okay so bobbing apples was out of the question, and least she be pulled into another game that had to do with wet clothes and stringy soppy hair, she high tailed it back into the main hub of the masquerade ball again. She was ready to attempt making a friend when she was caught by that guy giving out potions again. He threw another bottle at her, before laughing manically and disappearing into the crowd.
“Oi, what the hell are these?” She called after him, trying to grab their shirt. It was to no avail as they escaped. Really why her? ------------------------------------------------------------- Xevikan slowly tilted their head to the side and looked at the kirin hybrid. It wasn’t like they could be recognized. Their hair was pulled back into a bun and they had a full on face mask. So it wouldn’t hurt to try being friendly. Besides they had given the space on the bench freely, and xevikan could pick up on need for company in their voice.
“Alright, you can’t go wrong with baby familiars” he replied getting up. Of course it was almost like something waved a wand when he said familiars and something phased through the bench… wait no he wasn’t a medium so they could phase through the bench… right? Anyways. The familiar lept off the bench and into his arms. He softly caught the bird of all things? It started affectionately nipping his fingers before wiggling out of his grasp to land on his shoulder.
Khensu had been looking at the decorations on the ceiling this whole entire time. Well not the entire time, just occasionally. First glace it looked like enchanted floating brains, but something about that hadn’t rang true and his attention flittered back up to the ceiling. They looked like brains but even enchanted decorations shouldn’t move like that right? It figured when he finally gave all his attention to the masked goblin in front of him something with the ceiling would go differently. As if summoned as soon as lunette had said plushie, the floating brains had floated down to nibble on said plushie. Yeah those weren’t brains at all it was a familiar who he had to lightly swat when it started nibbling on the upper part of his wing.
“Sorry about that and no problem. I believe on giving compliments when they are earned.” They looked rather pretty as well but Khensu knew that was way too forward. So he had kept it at the outfit and mask. “Ah thank you, it’s a bit awkward to hold, and truthfully someone just kind of ran up and handed it to me. Happens a lot I heard” ------------------------------------------------------
“”No problem, compliments should be given when they are warranted after all” He stated and then looked over at the dance floor like it was a poisonous snake. Still the thought of dancing with Miwako warmed his chest. He went to answer when someone from work spotted him and tried to get him to come over to play the apple game. He smiled and pointed towards Miwako. “Sorry guys, maybe later I’m going to go dance with the pretty lady.” Of course it was about that time that the rammykin joined them. “Looks like you have yourself a friend. It happens a lot. Familiars seem to love festivals.” --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- “Why thank you, and let me give you the obligatory You look lovely this evening, because you do even with your crime fighting flare. However I do agree. Then again, that’s the nature of a festival, weird things happening.” Oberon replied and then blinked when Lau was handed a rather large plushie.
“I am afraid it is very much so, Oran told me of a couple of years ago when they were launched out of cannons. Luckily these are just handed to you in a shove and run.” He pulled out a pad of paper from his pocked and wrote lau’s name on it before sticking it on the plushie.
“There that should at least mark it as yours and we can put it over there with the building up pile of other plushies. This way it doesn’t get lost when we pick it up later, and arent I supposed to be the one asking for a dance, milady?” ------------------------------------------------- Or it would seem Vega had gone after him and called out his name. He stopped and turned around waiting for vega to close the distance between them. “Oh Hi Vega, thought that was you.” He paused to take in what Vega was wearing. “You look really nice tonight” Leto replied taking in what vega was wearing. He pushed a wayward strand of hair that had escaped over his ear. “I’m on the way to the pumpka patch, supposedly they have little baby pumpka, although I see you kind of started ahead of me. Hi there little guy. Something spook you?” He asked reaching down to help soothe the poor startled thing.
Treat went by Amber's plushie table and picked up one, then he went to look for Amber herself he was dressed in an orange and black tux and wearing an orange mask that had spider webs in it. Treat found Amber outfit he knew her markings well so it wasn't hard for him to tell. He just stood there for a while looking at her in her long black dress with spider webs. Treat was without words. Finally, Treat gathered his wits and went to go be with Amber. "Hey." He said softly he was struck between the eyes at how pretty she looked tonight.
Micari was looking around at all the beautiful costumes and masks she saw one she thought was really pretty and she went up to the being and said "I love your mask." She waited for them to say something back. She was wearing a pink and white dressed and her mask was a cookies and cake affair. She had decided to go for cute and food themed since that was her favorite thing. Micari loved cooking, she loved family. It was depressing that she had lost touch with her twin but it seemed their wishes and dreams were no longer the same so Micari had to move on her own.
Avocado laughed as he came into the ball and ended up with a candy corn cockatriel on his shoulder Avocado still wanted to learn to fly and this little friend could already fly. "Hey you." Avo said Avocado was wearing a dark green tux and a dark green mask with birds painted on it. He loved birds and flying and stuff. There were times that Avo wished he had been awoken as a fallen or a chimera instead of a neko. He liked being himself though, he wondered if he should get with a chimera or a fall give his future kids the wings he always wished for.
Kaimana was wearing a tux and mask that was all about music and his tux had music notes of it as well, it was Kaimana's heart. He wouldn't have come to the party at all if his sister Amalthea hadn't given him the outfit and shoved him away from his piano in a gentle manner telling him he needed to take a break or else. So Kaimana finally gave in and came to the ball. He walked in and saw the vespercat before him. Kaimana leaned down and petted the sweet wonderful familiar. "Hello little vespercat." Kai said softly as he petted his new friend.
Sign was wearing a simple black tux and a simple black mask, he didn't feel the need to be flashy. He walked into the ball, he needed to make some friends and behind his mask he could be whoever he wanted to be he didn't need to worry about it at all. So he was going to have some fun this party. He was soon joined by a bat. He looked at them landed on his shoulder and he smiled a little. He walked into the ball with his new friend on his shoulder and looked around to see if he wanted to go out on the dance floor or sit down.
Silver Von was on her own tonight she was wearing a pink tux because she didn't like dresses and she was wearing a mask that looked like a butterfly in pink and blue. She looked around normally Silver served on Sylkie's every whim. Tonight things were different Silver needed something for herself she needed a life for herself, she couldn't live in Sylkie's shadow forever. Silver had been dying inside serving her sister. She headed out back and saw the baby pumpka familiars. She smiled and sat down to sit with them for a bit before she would go do other things.
Amalthea had made her brother come to this party and now she had to come too because it was only fair, though she would rather have stayed home to play video games. She was wearing a purple dress and a mask that was about her favorite game cute monster character it was this ghost creature of a cute monster trainer game that looked like a chandelier. Her dress looked a lot like the monster as well. She was a little bit shy about maybe getting attention she took and deep breath and went in. Soon after she arrived she was given a huge plushie and she struggled under its weight. "Umm thank you" She said softly
